可用句型:" How radio,在定语从句中作bought的宾语,用that或which引导定语从句,that或which省略了. 所谓"代入原则"就是试着把先行词即被定语从句修饰限制的那个词放进从句中,能直接代入的就用关系代词(不包括whose),不能直接代入的可能有三种情况,要么用关系副词,要么用介词加关系代词which 或whom,要么就用关系代词whose.7.The Smiths don't usually like staying at hotels,but last summer they spent a few days at a very nice hotel by ________ sea.()A./;a B.the;the C./;the speaking highly of her role in the play,___________,of course,made the others unhappy.()A.who B.which C.this D.what【分析】Dorothy总是高度表扬自己在戏剧中的作用,这件事情大人让其他人不高兴了.【解答】B考查定语从句. 9.﹣Do you need any help,Lucy?﹣﹣Yes,the job is _____I could do myself.()A.less then B.more thanC.no more than D.not more than【分析】﹣﹣Lucy,需要什么帮助吗?﹣﹣是的,这份工作我自己独自做不来.【解答】答案:B.less than少于;no more than无非,只不过;not more than不多于,至多;more than之后的从句含有can或could时常表示否定意义. 10.You are not polite enough.When you serve customers,you don't turn your head your body towards them.()A.either B.or C.not D.neither【分析】你不够礼貌. 11.Don't worry,I won't tell your mother you've been punished in school.You see,.A.It's none of your businessB.I feel on top of the worldC.my lips are sealedD.I'm all welcome./It's nothing./That's all right./Don't mention it./It's a pleasure./It's my pleasure./That's nothing/It was no trouble at all. 2.﹣Excuse me,where's my room?﹣________,please.Your room is on the third floor,sir.()A.Go there B.Come here C.Get up D.This way【分析】﹣﹣对不起,我的房间在哪里?﹣﹣这边请. 考查语言交际.go there 去那里;come here 到这里来;get up 起床;this way 这边来,根据语境及句意可知答案选D. 3.________it is to watch a close football game!()A.What a great fun B.How great funC.What great fun D.How great a fun【分析】看一场势均力敌的足球比赛是多么快乐的一件事啊!【解答】答案:C. 可用句型:" How +主语+谓语!".4.Is ________some German friends visited last week?()A.this school B.this the schoolC.this school one D.this school where【分析】这个是上周一些德国朋友参观的学校吗?【解答】答案:B. 5.If you don't go there,________.()A.so will I B.nor do IC.neither shall I D.so do I【分析】如果你不去那里,我也不去.【解答】答案:C 考查倒装句. If you don't go there是否定句,主句也应用否定句,排除A、D项;在条件状语从句中,主句用一般将来时,从句用一般现在时,排除B项,只有C项正确. 6.The radio set _____ last week has been out of order.()A.I bought B.I bought itC.which I bought it D.what I bought【分析】考查定语从句,句意:我上周买的收音机已经出故障了.【解答】答案:A,先行词为the radio,在定语从句中作bought的宾语,用that或which 引导定语从句,that或which省略了. 所谓"代入原则"就是试着把先行词即被定语从句修饰限制的那个词放进从句中,能直接代入的就用关系代词(不包括whose),不能直接代入的可能有三种情况,要么用关系副词,要么用介词加关系代词which或whom,要么就用关系代词whose.7.The Smiths don't usually like staying at hotels,but last summer they spent a few days at a very nice hotel by ________ sea.()A./;a B.the;the C./;the D.the;a【分析】句意:史密斯夫妇一般不喜欢呆在酒店,但是去年夏天他们在海边一家很不错的酒店住了几天.【解答】答案:C. 后一空by sea 是坐船,通过海路;by the sea 是在海边. 故选:C.【点评】本题考查冠词的用法,答题时要分区by sea 和by the sea的意思.8.Dorothy was always speaking highly of her role in the play,___________,of course,made the others unhappy.()A.who B.which C.this D.what【分析】Dorothy总是高度表扬自己在戏剧中的作用,这件事情大人让其他人不高兴了.【解答】B考查定语从句. 11.Don't worry,I won't tell your mother you've been punished in school.Yousee,.A.It's none of your businessB.I feel on top of the worldC.my lips are sealedD.I'm all thumbs【分析】别担心,我不会告诉你妈妈你在学校受到了惩罚,我保守秘密.【解答】答案C 本题考查交际用语. 12.﹣﹣﹣Have you considered going to Australia for a vacation?﹣﹣﹣I'd like to,but it's _______ I can afford.()A.no more than B.more thanC.no less than D.less than【分析】﹣﹣你考虑过去澳大利亚度假吗?﹣﹣我很想去,但我负担不起.【解答】答案:B 考查形容词的比较级与最高级.A.no more than不多于,仅仅;B.more than多于,超过;C.no less than不少于;D.less than少于;根据句意可知是:支付不起,所以用more than I can afford超过其所能负担的,即负担不起. 13.I would join a party tonight!_____________!()A.For freeB.Have funC.Good luck!D.Don't come back too late!【分析】﹣﹣﹣我今晚要参加一个聚会!﹣﹣﹣玩的开心!【解答】答案:B 考查情景交际.A项,For free "免费";B项,Have fun"玩儿得开心";C项,Good luck"祝你好运";D项,Don't come back too late"别太晚回来".A、C项与语境无关,首先排除. 14.The way you move and carry yourself communicates a wealth of information to the world.()A./B.in where C.in that D.which【分析】你的举手投足间向世界传递了大量的信息.【解答】答案:A 考查定语从句的引导词.the way 作先行词时,定语从句的引导词可以用that、in which或省略先行词. 15.﹣____________?﹣Patient ,careful and kind﹣hearted.()A.What does your teacher look like?B.What's your teacher like?

Book 1 Unit 1ReadingSenior high school brings a lot of new experiences to everyone. The speech below was given to new senior high school students by their principal, Mr Xu, on the first day of term. Before you read the speech transcript, think about the following questions:•How do you think senior high school will be different from junior high school?•What do you think the principal will talk about in his speech?Hello, everyone! Welcome to senior high school! Today is the start of a new term, the start of a three-year journey and the start of a promising future.I can’t wait to describe to you what senior high school life is like. The path before you leads to a world full of challenges: a new environment, new knowledge and new ways of thinking. However, for those of you with a positive mind, opportunity lies in each challenge. When you rise to the challenges, you will have the opportunity to acquire great knowledge and enjoy personal growth. Most importantly, your time and effort at senior high school will open the door to your potential.“What is potential?” you may ask. Put simply, potential is your natural ability that can be developed when you try hard enough. Who knows what beautiful works of art you will create, what medical advances you will make or what amazing technologies you will develop! The possibilities are endless, and I have confidence in your ability to make a difference to your family, to your community and to our country. Over the next three years, you will discover your potential while you develop as a student and as a person. To fully realize your potential, it is important for you to make the most of our school resources. Take advantage of your classes, learn from your teachers and classmates, and make use of our school facilities. There are also a lot of school activities for you. Join a club or two, and take an active part in different sports.Of equal importance are good study habits, useful skills and a positive attitude. Carefully plan your study, set clear goals and balance your schoolwork with other activities. As a senior high school student, you must make efforts to improve your communication and problem-solving skills. Last but not least, always look on the bright side and never lose hope, even in difficult situations. In time you will find yourself growing into a well-rounded individual. As Lao-Tzu wisely said, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” You need to make a continuous effort to train your mind and develop your character. Senior high school will help you learn and grow, yet you alone are responsible for realizing your great potential. Be confident, do your best and make us proud!Extended readingJohn Li, a Chinese senior high school student, has spent a year studying in the UK. Read his article in the school magazine about his school life abroad.\Last year, I had the chance to study at a British secondary school as an exchange student. I stayed with a lovely host family and went to school with their son, Daniel. We were both in year ten and we got on well. He is learning Chinese and will come to stay with me this year in China! The British school day begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. Students usually have to learn nine subjects at secondary school. Every student in the UK must study English, Maths and the Science subjects: Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Students can also choose to study other subjects, such as History, Art and Business. The classes are different from those in China. Each teacher has their own classroom and the students move around for every lesson. In most of my classes, there were only about 20 students. In the beginning, however, it was still tough for me to remember everyone’s name!I enjoyed most of the classes, but some of them were quite challenging. Technology classes were fun. I made a clock to take home. The teacher helped me put the parts together. I like it so much that I still use it as my alarm! I found Maths quite easy and enjoyable because the material was less advanced in the UK than in China. However, learning in English was a great challenge for me. There were a lot of difficult English words, especially in Geography and Biology. Class discussion is very important in the UK, but I could not make a great contribution because sometimes I wasn’t able to express myself clearly in English. Although there was not as much homework as I was used to, it was still challenging. Fortunately, my teachers and classmates were always helpful and gave me lots of encouragement. My language skills improved over time.During the hour-long lunchtime, I ate in the school dining hall. There were lots of options including bread and butter, chicken pie and puddings, but I still missed my mum’s cooking! After lunch, I often played on the school’s huge sports field with Daniel and his friends. Sometimes we just relaxed under a tree or sat on the grass. After school, there were many clubs to join. The one that attracted me most was the Rugby Club. We played once a week, and it was great fun. Also, I enjoyed acting in the Theatre Club. I still have photos of myself acting in William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Joining clubs was a great way to meet British students and make friends with them.I am glad to have the opportunity to experience this different way of life. I met some great people and learnt a lot about school life in the UK. Daniel and his family were fantastic hosts, and his friends were very nice as well. I can’t wait for Daniel to visit China!TranslationUnit 1 Back to schoolReading发挥你的潜能大家好!

A group of people sitting in the hall stopped talking and stared at us."May I help you?" a man asked. "No, "I said. "We're fine.”Tour guides got on my nerves. What if they talked a long time about a painting you weren't that interested in? Sally had gone upstairs. The people in the hall seemed very nosy(爱窥探的), keeping their eyes on me with curiosity. What was their problem? I saw some nice sculptures in one room. Suddenly I sensed a man standing behind me. "Where do you think you are? " he asked. I turned sharply. "The Mckay Art Museum!" He smiled, shaking his head. "Sorry, the Mckay is on New Braunfels Street." "What’s this place?”I asked, still confused. "Well, it's our home." My heart jolted(震颤). I raced to the staircase and called out, "Sally! Come down immediately! ""There's some really good stuff up there." She stepped down, looking confused. However, since April in 2017, the small island of just 2,700 residents has gained worldwide fame thanks to the magical return of a beach that was washed away over three decades ago.The chain of events began in 1984 when residents of Dooagh, one of the settlements on the island, awoke to a surprising sight: their beautiful sandy beach had been washed away by strong Atlantic storms. There were only rocks and rock pools left. For about 34 years, only small amounts of sand returned to the once unspoiled shores. The area's tourism industry slowly declined, and the handful of beachside hotels, pubs, and restaurants gradually closed as well. Then around Easter in 2017, something magical happened—an unusual ten-day tide blanketed the barren 300-meter long rock beach with hundreds of tons of soft golden sand. Scientists suspect that the sand had been gathering offshore for months and was transported to the beach by the high winds and powerful waves. The locals are delighted to have their beach back, especially as it is attracting thousands of visitors wishing to witness the power of nature with their own eyes. However, Sean Molloy, manager at Achill Tourism, cautions against going into the cold waters just yet, saying, “Because of the sand coming in, we don't know how safe the beach is now because currents (水流) could be changed and it'll take a little bit of time. ”He instead recommends visitors enjoy the soft sand and leave the swimming to the dolphins that frequent the area.Interestingly, this is not the first time Dooagh Beach has pulled a disappearing and reappearing act. It disappeared in the 1890s, for over 30 years, before returning in 1927. However, the locals are optimistic that this time around, the beautiful sand is here to stay.28. What has brought Achill Island worldwide attention recently?A.An unusual storm.B.The return of its beach.C.The decrease in the number of residents.D.The building of a new tourist destination.29. What happened to Dooagh in the past three decades?A.Storms attacked frequently.B.Restaurants developed slowly.C.Tourism went down gradually.D.Rock pools disappeared completely.30. What does the underlined word “barren” in Paragraph 3 probably mean?A.bare B.soft. C.noisy. D.golden.31. What should tourists avoid according to Sean Molloy?A.Spoiling the shores.B.Getting into the rock pools.C.Playing with dolphins.D.Swimming near the beach.DIf you followed the 2016 Olympic Games, you may have noticed that several athletes, including US swimmer Michael Phelps, had circular bruises on their bodies. These bruises were the result of “cupping (拔火罐) therapy”,a traditional Chinese medicinal practice that has been around for more than 2,000 years. Many athletes say that they have benefited from the therapy. Phelps used the therapy in the fall of 2014 and has used it about twice a week since, reported ABC News. Another US swimmer, Dana Vollmer, also believes that “it really helps with blood flow”.However, some have said that the supposed health effects result from people's feeling that the treatment works, rather than any physical effect of the treatment. To figure out cupping therapy has any physical effect, last year researchers from Germany carried out a test in which a false treatment was provided. In the study, the same type of cups was used in the real treatment and the false treatment. But in the false treatment, the cups had a hole at the top so that they couldn't create the proper suction (吸力).The tested patients, who suffered from a disorder that caused a lot of pain, were told that they would receive either traditional cupping or “soft cupping”. But they were not informed that what called “soft cupping” was a false treatment. It turned out that most patients correctly guessed which kind of cupping they had received. In both groups, patients also experienced about the same reductio ns in pain. “ The results suggest the effects of cupping therapy might come from factors that are not necessarily part of the treatment itself,”the researchers told the Live Science website. The question of whether cupping therapy works still needs to be answered. “But because the treatment is relatively safe and it could be helpful for some people, the therapy can be used as part of a comprehensive treatment program involving other exercises, nutritional choices and lifestyle changing,” Dr Brent Bauer, director of the US Complementary and Integrative Medicine Program at Mayo Clinic, told Live Science.32. Why is Michael Phelps mentioned in the passage?A.To give athletes a new way to swim faster.B.To introduce the topic on cupping therapy.C.To provide athletes with a new way of treatment.D.To show swimmers suffer from disorders.33. The purpose of the test by researchers from Germany was to ________.A.promote the health effects of cupping therapyB.compare traditional cupping with soft cuppingC.see whether cupping therapy has a physical effectD.compare cupping therapy's effects on different groups of people34. What can be learned from the passage?A.Different people need different types of cupping therapy.B.The real treatment and false treatment almost have the same effects.C.The results show that cupping therapy is not part of the treatment.D.Cupping therapy is only effective when used with lifestyle changing.35. According to Dr Brent Bauer, cupping therapy ________.A.is a fast and easy treatment for people to carry outB.is a newly invented way to cure some diseasesC.needs a long period of time to take effectD.can be used together with other treatments第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项,选项中有两项为多余选项。
