二、英语语调序列成分的表态功能依据以上序列成分的划分,本文将从调核型、调冠型、调头型、停顿、语调边界不同的角度对序列成分的表态功能进行分析。
1.调核型调核型是语调表态功能的主要手段。
它是指调核不仅有句子的重音,并且有句子的逻辑重音,通过在调核上的不同语调而产生不同的情感态度。
(1)调核含义调核含义可以表现在单独的调核上,也可以表现在调核和调尾复合而成的调核音段上。
不同的调核和调核音段体现着不同的调核含义。
一般来说,降调表示肯定或结束,其中高降调较为普遍,表示较为激烈的情绪,低降调则表示冷淡的情绪;升调表示未完或疑问,低升调较为普遍,给人感觉也更为礼貌,而高升调则常用于构成疑问句式;降升调表示怀疑、犹豫或暗含之意;升降调表示惊讶或讥讽;平调表示继续或常规。
