摘要：PURPOSE:To enable oxidization of alcohol vapor by covering the surface of a gas sensitive layer comprising metal oxide with a cover layer which is made of the same material as that of the gas sensitive layer and with the addition of copper oxide thereto so that the cover layer is allowed to check the oxidization of a detection gas in a wide temperature range. CONSTITUTION:An n-type oxide semiconductor with precious metal added thereto serves as gas sensitive layer 2. The surface of the gas sensitive layer 2 is covered with the n-type oxide semiconductor with copper oxide added thereto and a concentration of precious metal is made higher than a concentration of a catalyst of the gas sensitive layer 2. As the cover layer 4 to which 20-10% of copper oxide is added is formed on the surface of tin oxide layer having 0.1-1.0% of platinum and palladium as gas sensitive layer, alcohol vapor is removed by oxidation with the cover layer 4 while a detection gas is little oxidized thereby enabling the checking of sensitivity to the alcohol vapor.
