2. To use appropriate greetings
☆Teaching Contents:
1. Words: e-dog, master, instruction
2. Greetings: Hi / Good morning. / Good afternoon. / Good evening. / Good night.
☆Teaching Procedure:
Presentation 1
Introduce Eddie, Hobo to the class. (Teacher can show his own e-dog to the class and tell them you are the master. You have read the instruction book and know how to play with it. The students are enjoying your playing with the toy )
Practice 1
1. Listen to the tape and answer: Who is the master, Eddie or Hobo?
2. Books open and read after the tape, paying attention to the pronunciation and intonation.
3. Look at the picture and answer: At the beginning is Eddie happy?
In picture 4, is Eddie happy or sad? Why?
4. ask more able students to say something about Eddie or e-dog.
Eg. I am a dog, Eddie. I have an e-dog. I am his master. His name is Hobo.
I love it very much. But he let me read the instruction book. I am sad.
Presentation 2
1. Teachers make friends with the students and say “hi” to them. Let them know in which situation to use the
following greetings.
Hi. Good morning. Good afternoon. good evening. Good night. (We have learned the book Starter, so it is not difficult to learn, I think)
2, Showing the pictures to the class. Introduce the following six students to your class.
Amy, Simon, Kitty, Millie, Sandy, Daniel
Maybe Amy, Simon, Kitty, Millie, sandy and Daniel are in your class too. So let the more able students say something about them. If possible give them some hints One or two sentences is OK.
Sample: Simon is a boy. He is my classmate. He has short black hair. His eyes are big. He likes the color blue.

Practice 2
1. Read after the tape, imitating the pronunciation and intonation

3. Act out before class: (Encourage them to add something we have learned in order to make the conversation
more natural and interesting)
4. Ask the students to do Part B1 and B2 alone.
Extension activities:
1. Let the student to act as a person who he likes best. Then the two persons meet and make greetings.
