Euthanasia
A:Hello!welcome to our discussion . I’m joined today by B and C.i’m soleil
B:And I’m B
C:I’m C.
A:oh , Hello, C. do you know about Euthanasia ?
B:Yes.that is people who are attacked by incurable disease can’t surffer from the pains and decide to employ a humane way to end their lives without pain.
C:do you think Euthanasia Should Be Legalized
正方:We think it’s necessary. On one hand, we can save our limiting medical resources for those who need treatment than any other people. On the other hand, we can keep patients from endless paint.
1. Euthanasia can release the stress of the society, if the patients can’t do any contribution.
2. Euthanasia can free the patients who are under heavy paint.
3. A person’s life belongs to himself, he has access to end his life.
We feel this suffering, we have come with this then you have no choice in the circumstances, we have chosen euthanasia. This is not contempt for life, nor is it moral decline.Instead, it was a
time in the lives of torment and suffering to the loved ones around us to the people we love.more acceptable alternative to the road. Therefore, we believe that euthanasia is a form of respect for life.
I think we shouldn’t make euthanasia legal. Otherwise, some people may commit suicide through this way, which offer them an easy way to die. In addition, it can be an legal way to deprive(剥夺) people’s life, for those who have evil intentions. So, I don’t agree this point.
1. Euthanasia is a rejection of the importance and value of human life
1. The poor will truly be killed by poverty through euthanasia,
because of no money for treatment.
3. Euthanasia is disguised violations of the right to life
"euthanasia" if legal form confirm down, may be some people use to depriving the life of others. In addition, to the understanding of the disease in humans is still very limited circumstances, without legal license and others end life, contrary to the right to live moral principles.
“安乐死”如果以法律形式确认下来,可能会被一些人利用,用
以非法剥夺他人的生命。
另外,在人类对疾病的认识还十分有限的情况下,未经法律许可而结束他人生命,有悖于生存权利的道德准则Euthanasia Should Be Legalized
Both of birth and death are natural events. However, people’s attitudes towards them are vastly different. Birth is celebrated with joy and excitement, while when it comes to death, people try their best to avoid it. That is also the reason why euthanasia is approached with opposition.
1. Euthanasia was first legalized in which country? Why?
: The Netherlands legalized euthanasia on Monday April 1st, 2002. It was practiced illegally for many years prior. This was the first country in the world to make it legal.
2. What is the difference between voluntary, non-voluntary and
involuntary euthanasia?
: The person wants to die and says so. This includes cases of: asking for help with dying
refusing burdensome medical treatment
asking for medical treatment to be stopped, or life support machines to be switched off
refusing to eat
simply deciding to die
The person cannot make a decision or cannot make their wishes known. This includes cases where:
the person is in a coma
the person is too young (e.g. a very young baby)
the person is senile
the person is mentally retarded to a very severe extent
the person is severely brain damaged
the person is mentally disturbed in such a way that they
should be protected from themselves
3. Is euthanasia practiced in your country? If no, why?
: No, because it supports killing older people
a human life is a precious thing. It should not be killed. Just like abortion, it labels human life as a THING, sort of like a choice....which it isn't. It’s a chance. Not a choice. it should be valued. Death is supposed to be a natural thing....not self-induced. So that's why it devalues human life
4. Should doctors be held responsible for encouraging terminal
patients to go for euthanasia?
: No, because euthanasia is very strict voluntary, the doctors can not encouraging the patients, always the terminal patients will depend on the doctor to give them confidence to live.
5. What are the disadvantages of euthanasia?
: The disadvantages of euthanasia rest on the spiritual and physical well- being of a person. Second, it's immoral for Catholics or other religious beliefs. Preserving the life of an ailing patient is an answer to all God's commandment that we should love one another no matter what happen.
6. Why is euthanasia fast becoming famous in the world? What the
advantages of euthanasia?
1) Painless
2) Speedy termination of physical and emotional suffering.
3) Saves family's money
4) if the person has a chronic disease then it will eliminate the
need to spend money on expensive surgery, medicine and life-support
5) organs can be put to good use
7. Would you allow a loved one to go for euthanasia if they had a
terminal disease? Why
: Yes, I would. Because I cannot look at my love to bear the painful,
8. Do you feel that euthanasia goes against the religion/ethics in
any country?
9. If euthanasia is not acceptable, what kind of solution do we offer
to alleviate the sufferings of people with incurable diseases?
: These victims just bear the painful; they must pay the high expenditure of the treatment. But at the end they also have to dead, if the euthanasia can not be accept they have no choice and live with the enormously pain.
10. Describe the process of Euthanasia.
: They give you a lethal injection or they give you pain-relieving pills. It is painless.
Being put into a medically induced coma is also a form of euthanasia. One by one your organs begin to fail. That can be quite painful.
Suffocation with a plastic bag, most of the time (but not all of the time) drugging the patient first.
Gassing them to death with carbon monoxide: not even approved for putting down a dog or executing a convicted murderer
Lethal injection, but families are not usually allowed to watch because of the effects of this poison
Pills are administered in cases of assisted suicide, not
euthanasia. The difference is that when the patient takes pills prescribed by a doctor, they are ending their own life. Many people believe that legalizing full-fledged euthanasia will stop the use of plastic bags and carbon monoxide, but that will simply legitimize their use.
Terminally ill patients generally do not die an unbearably painful death.
Many patients are able to live out their few final days in a
drug-induced stupor, relieving them of most pain while leaving them cognizant enough to interact with family.
11. Is euthanasia of animals considered animal cruelty, give your
views?
:Animal euthanasia is the act of inducing humane death in an animal.Euthanasia methods are designed to cause minimal pain and distress. Pets are almost always euthanized by intravenous injection typically a very high dose of a barbiturate such as pentobarbital. Unconsciousness, respiratory distress and then cardiac arrest follow rapidly, usually within 30 seconds. Observers generally describe it as a quick and peaceful death. Sometimes the animal makes a gasping sound after the death, which is air being exhaled by the lungs. The animal may twitch for a moment or urinate. Some vets perform
a two stage euthanasia which an initial injection renders the pet
unconscious and the second ends their life.。
