更深层次挖掘可以从这样的艺术比赛对学生艺术能力的培养和熏陶方面入手。

第三步，确定时态，拓展细节
报道一般为过去时态。

拓展可以从细节和逻辑上展开。

逻辑性拓展：如为什么要举办这样一个海报比赛的活动，有什么意义或好处。

第四步，变换句式，提高用词

Last week, the school witnessed the holding of a poster design contest with the theme of “Welcoming the Asian Games”.As soon as we announced the competition, everyone actively submitted designs with their own unique understanding. In the end, we awarded a proportional award based on the submissions. Also, everyone’s designs were collected and an exhibition was held so that the results of ever yone’s efforts could be seen.The competition is such a success that it not only makes students’ campus life more colorful, but also increases students’ understanding and longing for the Asian Games.

前一句话有一定歧义，传递的意思是每个人都带着他们独一无二的理解积极地提交了设计还是每个人都积极地提交了设计，而这个设计带着他们独一无二的理解并不明确。

因此，采用定语从句，更能直观生动地表达作品承载的含义。

第一句话直接一个in the end在最后给人不知所云的感觉。

这位同学实际想要表达的意思是按照提交的作品的份数，再按比例分配奖项，于是做了以下修改。

授予奖项可以使用被动sb. be awarded…(award) e.g. He was awarded the MVP award as a senior.较为正式的说法是bestow the award
提高用词一：makes students’ campus life more colorful→adds color to students’ campus life
make sth. colorful更改为add color to，学以致用add to词组。
