Lesson 2 Many Faces, One Picture
Main aim:
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to describe their pictures, using the target language.
Subsidiary aims:
To provide detailed listening practice in a dialogue in which two students are talking about their pictures.
To focus on the language used when describing pictures.
Materials:

Assumptions:
Learners have already learned about present simple, present continuous and past simple, and they are familiar with some simple language about one’s name, age, clothes and actions. But they may make mistakes when they describe their pictures. Anticipated problems with materials, activities and tasks: Students may find it difficult to find out which picture Li Ming chose in the recording.
Students may make mistakes when writing their description under their picture.
Solutions:
Let students read the recording script and underline the key sentences for Question 4 in the listening practice.
After they write, ask students to correct each other’s mistakes, according to the checklist provided by the teacher.

经过反思，我认为本课具有如下特点：
1.图片生动形象，可以帮助学生形象记忆、理解。

适时地进行语言鼓励和表扬，激发学生的学习兴趣。

2.本节课充分锻炼了学生听、说、读、写等能力。

3.充分调动了学生的积极性，让每一个学生都加入到课堂活动中来，成为课堂活动的主体，充分调动每个学生学习英语的积极性，不让一个学生掉队。

4.通过猜孩子的兴趣爱好来展示出部分重点单词、短语、句型的设计较单调，可以多选一些大家感兴趣的人物；在有些同学猜出正确答案之后给一些小奖励更能激发学生的兴趣。

教学反思
本单元主要是以描述人为话题而展开学生活动 , 而本课内容是让学生学会准确地描述老师，从而拓展延伸到会描述人。

我认为本节课有三大亮点：1. 通过猜谜游戏，让学生快速地进入到课堂中来，培养了学生学习英语的兴趣；同样又是猜谜游戏，很自然地引出了本节课的新单词，让学生在一种快乐神秘的氛围下学习新内容； 2. 在处理文本这一环节，通过设置不同层次的四个任务，采取小组合作互帮互学的方式，真正地体现了分层教学，迎合了不同层次的不同学生的不同需求，同时培养了学生的小组合作竞争意识；3. 利用最美教师张丽莉的视频把本节课推向高潮，从而让学生感受到老师的伟大，可爱和美丽，敬佩感恩之情油然而生，从而努力学习来回报老师。

本节课存在两个不足之处：1. 对于本课的单词词组的讲授还是过于简单，在讲授新单词的同时缺少记忆单词的技巧，没有设置配套的单词词组练习题，不利于反馈学生掌握新单词的情况。

2. 本节课对于文本的处理还应再深入挖掘，比如可增设课文复述，任务型阅读等环节，为学生描
述自己最喜欢的老师做好铺垫。

一、教学分析
(一) 教学内容分析
《Jenny’s week》选自冀教版英语八年级上册，本单元内容是介绍学校学习生活，以及用一般过去时态叙述某一事件。

本课主要是以日记的形式叙述Jenny一周的活动。

（二）教学对象分析
大多数八年级学生都具有一定的学习英语的基础和能力，比如听录音获取信息的能力，根据提供的信息简单谈论某一话题的能力，以及根据上下文内容及老师的提示猜词义的能力。

而且他们思维活跃，充满竞争意识，喜欢参与课堂活动，能把学到的知识应用于实践之中。

（三）教学环境分析
基于教材内容和学生情况的分析，我采用多媒体环境来组织本课教学。

一、教材分析
本单元主要是围绕谈论时间和喜爱的学科来展开话题，通过本单元的学习，可以使学生了解时间的表达方法和学科的学习方法等相关情况，乐于接触并了解异国文化。

在学习过程中，让学生能够对自己感兴趣的学科勇敢地用英语表达自己的看法，感受各个学科给我们带来的知识与乐趣，以及不断学习超越自我的精神。

Lesson 9主要是让学生接触和了解每一学科能让我们知道什么、了解什么，激发学生的学习兴趣，培养学生用英语来表述自己感兴趣的人物和事件的意识。

1教学重点：如何谈论所喜爱的学科。

2教学难点：现在完成时的使用。

Show some pictures and ask questions, get the students to answer the questions and understand the meanings.

Step 2 Leading in （about 2 min）
Tell them “Different su bjects can bring us different knowledge and different world. What’s the most interesting thing about your favorite subject?”

Step 3 Listening（about 5 min）
Play the tape, get the students to listen and find out the answers
After listening, check the answers. Make sure that the students can understand.

Step 4 Reading （about 10 min）
Get the students to read the text and write down the answers to the questions.
After reading, check the answers. Make sure that the students can understand.
Then explain the new words and useful expressions in class.
【设计思路】：培养学生的阅读能力，让学生深入了解课文内容，能够使用简略答语正确回答问题，并掌握生词和短语。

Step 5 Practice (about 8 min )
1 Ask them to finish the passage according to Lesson9. The useful expressions in Lesson9 have been given. Get them to do it alone and then check out the answers and read the passage together.
2 Do some exercises about the useful expressions in Lesson9. First do it alone then check out the answers.
