I.Teaching contents:
The miniclass of reading,from the unit 4 of Grade 7 in Go for it, mainly let the students understand the short passage which is about the introduction of the positions of things and let the students know how to introduce the positions of the things in her or his own room.
II.The analysis of students:
The students have just learned some words about things.For example,table,sofa,keys, Bookcase,etc.And they can use simple sentences to introduce the positions of things. They are curious,active and fond of various activities.
III.Teaching objectives:
1)knowledge objectives
Students can learn and understand the new words:tidy,but,our,everywhere,always. 2)ability objectives
Students can understand the short passage which is about the introduction of the positions of things in one room.Through the reading of the short passage,the students can know the reading skills,skimming and scanning and learn to use the two skills when the students read the short passage. After the students read the short passage, they can introduce the positions of the things in his or her own room to her or his classmates.
3)emotional objectives
The students can know the importance of keeping his or her room tidy.And they can always keep his or her room tidy.
IV.important points
Get an overall understanding of the short passage and can answer the questions in 2b and 2c correctly.
V.difficult points
The students can introduce the positions of the things in her or his own room to her or his classmates or friends.

IX.Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Review
1.Greeting(1min)
2.The teacher shows the pictures of some words and the words on the ppt to let the students review some key words.(2mins)
3.The teacher shows the picture of 2a in the ppt and let the students write the words they know for the things in the picture of 2a to let them review the spelling of some words that the students have already learned.These words are photo,sofa,quilt,bed,hat, pillow,books,bookcase,schoolbag,chair,CD,tape,pen,key,lamp,clock,notebook and tape recorder.(4mins)
3.The teacher shows the picture of 2a in another ppt again and let the students work in pairs to make conversations about the positions of the things in the picture of 2a.Then let some pairs show their conversation.(3mins)
Purpose:The teacher lets the students review some words and let them review how to express the positions of some things to let the students review some key words and knowledge and to let the students have a better understanding of the short passage. Step 2 Pre-reading
1.Let the students listen to the short passage of 2b and read it after the recordings in a low voice.Then let the students answer the following two question.If the students can’t read the short passage after the recording very well,the teacher then read the short passage aloud and let the students read the short passage after the teacher in a low voice.(3mins)
(1).Is Kate’s room tidy?
(2).Is Gina’s room tidy?
Purpose:Let the students be familiar with the short passage and let them can read the short passage.
Step 3 While-reding
1.Careful reading,
let the students read the short passage silently and carefully.Then let the students answer some more questions.The questions are as follows,(5mins)
(1).Where are the books and tapes?
(2).Where are the keys?
(3).Where is the clock?
(4).Where are Gina’s books?
(5)Where is the white model plane?
(6).What does Gina ask?
2.Let the students read the short passage aloud and together.(2mins)
3.Work on 2c,
Then let the students review the answers of the questions above and complete the chart in 2c.The chart is about the things Kate and Gina have and where they are.(3mins)
Purpose:To get an overall understanding of the short passage.
Step 4 Post-reading
1.Pay attention to some linking words in the short passage.(3mins)
Let the students find out the sentences with and and but in the short passage.Then let them observe the differences of the two words.Then let the students do some exercises about and,but.
2.Look at the picture and fill in the blanks. (2mins)
Let the students look at one picture in the ppt and fill in the blanks to complete the passage in the ppt.
3.My room(7mins)
Let the students look at one picture on the ppt and let them describe the positions of the things in the picture to their partner.When the students describe the picture,they should use the linking words-and,but as much as possible.
Purpose:To develop the students’ oral expression ability and consolidate and use what they have learned today.
Step 5 Summary
Let the students review what they have learned today.Let them review these words and phrases:tidy,our,everywhere,but,always,in the bookcase,on the desk,on the sofa,under the chair.And let them review the sentence pattern and other knowledge points:”My keys are in my schoolbag.”and learn to introduce our own rooms.(3mins) Step 6 Homework
Copy the passage in 2b twice and recite it.(2mins)
Purpose:Let the students recite the short passage and practice their writting.
X.Teaching reflection
After reading the short passage,most of the students can understand the new words in the short passage and they can describe the positions of the things in their own rooms. XI. blackboard writing design
Divide the blackboard into 2 parts.The left is for the title of the short passage and the questions related to the short passage.The right part is for the new words.。
