第五讲 句子写作---副词性从句
在英文写作中,状语从句的运用也属于高考英语高
分作文的必需条件,所以,考生必须学会并熟练运用状
语从句。 状语从句在复合句中起状语的作用,修饰主句中的 谓语动词、形容词或副词。状语从句由从属连词引导, 从属连词在句中不充当句子成分,只起连接作用。

一、时间状语从句 1.由连词when, whenever, as, while, after, before, until, till, since, once, as soon as等引导。 When the bell rang, the person was waiting in his seat.

九、比较状语从句 由as ...as, not as / so ...as, than, the more ...the more ...等 引导。 The streets in New York are just as crowded as those in London. 纽约的街道和伦敦的一样拥挤。

二、地点状语从句 由连词where和wherever引导。 Make a mark where you have questions.
在有疑问的地方做个记号。
Where there is plenty of sunlight and rain, the fields are green. 哪里有充足的阳光和雨水,哪里的田地就绿油油的。

五、结果状语从句 由so that, so ...that, such ...that等引导,口语中so ...that, such ...that中的that有时可以省略。 The engineer did not plan his time well so that he didn't finish his work on time. 这位工程师没有计划好时间,所以没有按时完成任务。
He looks younger than he is (for his age).
他看上去比他实际年龄要年轻。

三、原因状语从句 由because, as, since, now that引导。 Because he was a great thinker, no one questioned his ideas for almost 2,000 years.

七、方式状语从句 由as, as if, as though等引导。 I'll do as I am told to. 叫我怎么做,我就怎么做。
He heard a noise, as if someone was breathing heavily.

八、让步状语从句 由though, although, as, even if, even though, whoever, whatever, however, no matter who (what, how, when),
