I remember the first time I witnessed a fire. It was a few years ago when I was living in an apartment building. I was just getting ready to go to bed when I heard the sound of a fire alarm. At first, I thought it was just a drill, but then I smelled smoke. I quickly grabbed my phone and keys and headed for the nearest exit.
As I made my way down the stairs, I could see the smoke starting to fill the hallway. It was a terrifying experience, and I remember feeling a sense of panic as I tried to make my way out of the building. When I finally reached the ground floor, I saw that the fire trucks had arrived and the firefighters were already working to put out the fire.
I was lucky that night, as the fire was contained to just one apartment and no one was seriously injured.
However, it was a wake-up call for me about the importance
of fire safety and being prepared for emergencies. I made sure to check the smoke detectors in my apartment regularly and to have a plan in place for what to do in case of a fire.
