If you chose the latter, you're in good company because that is (35) precisely what I did. I had seen so many beautiful portraits of famous people hanging in museums that I thought it was time to have my very own.It took me a long time to find a highly (36) qualified artist whose work would do justice to my portrait. In the (37) meantime, I studied the artistic process and learned a lot about how art is created. I must admit that, even though I've always admired artists, I never had a full appreciation for their creative talent. I certainly don't have that ability, so I'm incredibly impressed when someone (38) instinctively knows how to create a work of such beauty.I was fairly nervous about seeing my finished portrait. The artist, likewise, was very nervous about showing it to me. In the end, I must admit that he did a(n) (39) sufficient job capturing my likeness. I'm not in love with the painting, but the artist should take (40) consolation in the fact that he did the best he could with his subject. I'm not a very attractive man, so it's almost impossible for my portrait to be beautiful and realistic.Unit 4 testPart I Section A1. Dr Reynolds was a(n) (31) eminent doctor from the big city. It seemed as if he was in the newspaper every day. My grandfather lived in a small (32) suburb outside the city. This was at a time when such neighbourhoods were still relatively new. People just couldn't understand why anyone would want to live so far from the city centre. However, the neighbourhood my grandfather lived in was growing every day. Many people couldn't afford to live in the city, and others were tired of the crowds. Cost and congestion comprised a real (33) curse of the cities, a problem that has only gotten worse with time. Large sections of the urban (34) workforce were moving out of the city to the smaller towns. Along with these people and their families, companies also started to relocate outside major cities. A great example of this was Dr Reynolds. It is impossible to overstate the (35) magnitude of the significance that Dr Reynolds' move had on my grandfather's town. Because he was so famous, there was obviously a considerable amount of (36) hype associated with his arrival. However, he quickly showed that he had the skills to back up his reputation. Dr Reynolds was not only a big, (37) brawny man who played football in his youth, but he also graduated at the top of his class in medical school.I'd be willing to (38) bet that this was one of the most exciting things happened in my grandfather's town. It must have been since he told the story so many times! Dr Reynolds' arrival (39) fundamentally changed the dynamics of the town. It was no longer "far away" from the city; it suddenly became "just outside" the city limits. Today, the world is changing much faster than can be measured by the arrival of a big-city doctor in a small town. Who knows, maybe (40) someday I'll have my own story to tell my own grandchildren!Unit 5 testPart I Section A1. Hollywood has repeatedly presented us with the image of (31) sophisticated criminals who have elaborate plans, extensive connections, and can sweet-talk anyone into doing whatever they want. The truth, however, bears no resemblance (32) whatsoever to this image. In movies, members of organized crime typically (33) intimidate innocent business owners to pay them "protection money"—which is actually a fee the citizens need to pay for protection from the very people they're paying. They are also known to "knock off," or kill, potential (34) competitors so that they remain the only "show" in town. The truth of these portrayals is (35) doubtful. Sure, some of these things happen, but they happen much less often than movies and television would lead us to believe. There is no doubt, however, that among members of organized crime, there is a considerable amount of (36) corruption. Money is their primary objective, and they are usually willing to do anything to get it. In today's day and age, though, they are more than likely to (37) refrain from violent crimes and pursue more white-collar crimes in order to achieve their goals. Crime "families" are now known to enter into (38) contracts with legitimate businesses and form (39) partnerships with honest companies. Don't misunderstand, they still demand complete (40) loyalty from "family" members, they still conduct illegal operations, and they are still criminals, but they have gotten much better at appearing clean and staying out of jail.Unit 6 testPart I Section A1. They cause people to lose their homes, their possessions, or even their lives. In a word, they can be downright (32) tragic. However, after such disasters strike is often a time of unbelievable (33) bravery and courage. Earthquakes and hurricanes may cause the worst things to happen, but they also bring out the best in people. In 2005, one of the worst hurricanes in recent memory formed over the Gulf of Mexico and moved over the southeastern United States. Known as Hurricane Katrina, it was devastating for many major cities, especially New Orleans, and the people who lived there. While some people managed to (34) evacuate and find safety outside of the city, many did not. Unfortunately, they were left (35) homeless when the floods filled the streets and drowned their houses. It is hard to use too many (36) superlative words to describe Katrina. It was one of the worst storms in history. It caused the deaths of more than a thousand people. It displaced tens of thousands more. Still, there was an enormous (37) turnout of people who wanted to help. These people certainly deserve our (38)admiration and respect. In the days following the storm, details of what happened were all over the news. There were hundreds of (39)correspondents from all over the world in New Orleans to cover the story. Between the journalists telling this story to the world and the thousands of ordinary people who wanted to help those affected by the storm, the lives of New Orleans's residents were made a little more (40)humane.

新课标高二上学期5册Unit 5测试Class: Name: Marks: 满分(120)第一部分阅读理解(共两节,满分40分)第一节(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)AIt all started off with five. It was raining, and my dad told me that I had to make five free throws (投球) one after another without a break before I could go home. I was ten years old at that time. So I shot (投球) until I indeed made five free throws. Pretty soon the number of free throws increased until I got to high school and I had to make seventy-five before I could leave the gym.I used to get mad when I reached the required amount and I would miss the next one, but my dad made me start over, saying that I missed it on purpose. So in high school I would usually get to 120 before I stopped. My highest ever was 175. I never expected this would ever bring me some benefit, but one game really changed my idea. Our school team was playing basketball match with Royal High School, and we lost the game by twenty points a week earlier, so this game was all about revenge (报仇). With two minutes left in the game, my team was up by six and their coach told them to foul (犯规). Our coach immediately put forward a perfect plan — giving the ball to me every time. And every time my teammates gave me the ball, the other team would foul me. Then I went to the free throw line and made two free throws successfully. I ended up going ten-for-ten that game all in the last two minutes. The final score was 57-50 and we won.1. We can learn from the first two paragraphs that .A. the a uthor’s father was very strict with himB. the author’s father wanted him to create a recordC. the author had to make five free throws every dayD. the author could make 75 free throws at the age of 102. How many times was the author fouled?A. Ten.B. Seven.C. Six.D. Five.3. What can we learn from the text?A. The author could make fifty free throws within two minutes.B. The author’s hard work brought a good result in the game.C. The author’s coach didn’t know the author had t he talent.D. Royal High School team was stronger than the author’s team.BHaving attended a first-aid-at-work course, Brian Cracknell soon found himself responding to two emergencies in a week.Brian was at work in his bus company office in Weston-super-Mare on May 18 when a colleague called to say there had been an accident at a bus stop nearby. He ran to the scene with his first aid kit and found an old lady sitting at the bus stop. When boarding (上车) the bus, the old lady painfully hurt her left leg, which was bleeding. He introduced himself, and asked some basic first aid questions to get a general picture of her health. Then he put his jacket on the floor, using the lady’s coat as a pillow, and gently laid her down so he could raise her legs and apply some bandages. Bryan said, “At first I was a bit worried about remembering to do all the right things. I made sure she was as comfortable as possible.” When he had nearly finished, he told the lady that she was his first one. The lady said he was doing a great job.Just a week later, Brian got a second call-out to help another lady at a bus stop.Having used his new skills twice within a short time, Brian has decided to sign up as a Red Cross fir st aid volunteer. As he said, “I just thought: what’sthe point in having this knowledge if I’m not going to use it? It felt really good to help those people. I was so proud of myself afterwards, so I’m going to join the Red Cross.”4. Before helping the old lady, Brian ..A. had given first aid on many peopleB. was thought to be a skilled first aid volunteerC. knew nothing about how to handle an emergencyD. had learnt first aid skills but hadn’t put them into practice5. What was wrong with the old lady when Brian arrived?A. Her legs were bleeding after being injured.B. Her left leg was injured and was bleeding.C. She fell onto the ground and hurt her head.D. She was knocked down by a bus and lost her legs.6. What does Paragraph 3 mainly tell us?A. The reason why Brian was asked to help.B. Brian handled two emergencies in a week.C. How Brian gave first aid on the old lady.D. How the old lady reacted to Brian’s performance.7. After using his first aid skills twice, Brian .A. was discouraged and decided to give upB. realized he still had a lot of things to learnC. decided to give up his job for the Red CrossD. decided to help more people with his first aid skillsCA Japanese company has ordered all of its 2,700 employees to get identical (一模一样的) hairstyles. For men, the preferred cut is short on the sides and back but longer on top. For women, the company prefers a bob with a longer fringe (刘海) that can be swept to one side. This unusual request is its effort to help the country save energy. The spokeswoman for the Tokyo-based construction firm Maeda Corporation Chizuru Inoue explained, “Our company is eager to protect the environment and we encourage our staff to carry out many environment-friendly actions.”She added, “We are not sure of the data yet, but we believe if people have short hair, they do not need to use their hair driers for so long and they will use less water. If all our employees do this, then we m ay save a lot of power.” Some staff are confused about which style they must have and have been asking which salons (美容院) give the best cut.The energy-saving move is part of a national campaign to reduce energy consumption (消耗) following the Fukushima nuclear disaster. Japan has been struggling to produce enough electricity since the tsunami ended production at the Fukushima plants. The disaster resulted in a review of the country’s energy policy that now meansless than a quarter of its remaining nuclear plants are in use. The government has talked about a move away from nuclear energy towards more sustainable (能持续的) technologies. Many government departments have taken measures to save power, including a reduced use of air conditioning in offices and schools. Many employees cannot turn down the air conditioner below 27 degrees in the hottest summer months.8. The company gave the order of hairstyles to .A. keep the company offices cleanB. show a good image of the businessC. make the staff look tidy and prettyD. help reduce energy consumption9. After the Fukushima nuclear disaster, Japan .A. is building more nuclear plantsB. has to rethink its energy policyC. limits people’s daily energy useD. decides to close old nuclear plants10. It can be inferred from the text that .A. nuclear power forms 1/4 of Japan’s energyB. nuclear plants will soon disappear in JapanC. the company is not alone in saving energyD. other companies have copied the “hairstyle order”11. What would be the best title for the text?A. Sustainable power is welcome in JapanB. Nuclear disaster brings bad resultsC. Short hairstyles may help save energyD. Japan is lacking in energyDIt turns out that nodding off (睡觉) in class may not be a bad idea, as a new study has shown that going to sleep shortly after learning new materials is the best way to remember them.According to US lead author Jessica Payne, a psychologist at the University of NotreDame in Indiana, nodding off after learning something new is like “telling” the sleeping brain what to remember. Along with colleagues, she studied 207 students who slept for at least six hours per night. Students were randomly (随机地) assigned to study something declarative (陈述的) at 9 am or 9 pm, and returned for testing 30 minutes, 12 hours or 24 hours later.Declarative memory refers to the ability to consciously (有意识地) remember facts and events, and can be divided into memory for events and memory for facts about the world. People use both types of memory every day — remembering where they parked today or learning how a colleague prefers to be called. At the 12-hour retest, memory was better following a night of sleep compared to a day of wakefulness (不眠). At the 24-hour retest, with allstudents having received both a full night of sleep and a full day of wakefulness, students’ memories were greater when sleep happened shortly after learning rather than following a full day of wakefulness.“Our study confirms that sleeping directly after learning something new is bene ficial for memory. What’s special for this study is that we have shown sleep’s influence on declarative memory,” Payne said. “Since we found that sleeping soon after learning benefited both types of memory, this means that it would be a good thing to go over any information you need to remember before going to bed. In some sense, you may be telling the sleeping brain what to consolidate (巩固).”12. What’s the main idea of the text?A. How to improve one’s memory is a difficult problem.B. Nodding off after learning something new helps remember it.C. Students should nod off in class after they learn new materials.D. The best way to remember new materials is to nod off in class.13. We can learn about the study that .A. Jessica Payne and her colleagues were testedB. 207 students were eager to take the testC. it tested students studying something declarativeD. people’s memory can be divided into two types14. Paragraph 4 mainly tells us .A. students’ memories are the best if they sleep for 12 hours each dayB. sleeping for 24 hours contributes to improving students’ memoriesC. a full day of wakefulness can make students’ memories improved greatlyD. students’ memories are better when sleep happens shortly after learning15. What suggestion does Payne give in the last paragraph?A. The more you sleep, the more you remember.B. Go over what you want to remember before going to bed.C. Teachers should allow their students to sleep in class.D. If you want to improve your memory, you should sleep.第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。

人教版八年级英语第五单元作文范文影评全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1The Incredible Adventures of Captain UnderpantsWow, what an awesome movie! I just saw The Incredible Adventures of Captain Underpants and it was sooooo funny. It's based on the popular book series by Dav Pilkey about two best friends, George and Harold, and their hilarious comic book superhero creation who comes to life. The movie starts off with George and Harold getting into all kinds of trouble and pranks at school. They're always having fun and making the meanest teacher, Mr. Krupp, really mad. One day, they take a prank too far and hypnotize Mr. Krupp to think he's their awesome comic book hero, Captain Underpants. Whenever anyone snaps their fingers, he turns into this goofy superhero guy wearing just underwear and a red cape! From there, the movie just gets crazier and crazier. Captain Underpants has to fight the evil Professor Poopypants, who is out to get rid of laughter and fun. There are so many hilarious scenes like when Captain Underpants keeps getting hisunderwear blown off or when the cafeteria lunch comes alive as a weird monster thing. My favorite part was definitely the big toilet fight at the end - I won't ruin it but just imagine a massive toilet uprising haha! What I loved most though were the main characters George and Harold. Even though they're just 4th graders, they're so clever and creative. They make up these awesome comics and use their brains to get out of sticky situations. Plus they have such a great friendship and always look out for each other. Their buddy humour and pranks had me cracking up the whole time. The animation was really vibrant and colorful too, which matched the crazy spirit of the story. The fight scenes with Captain Underpants were animated so well, especially when he uses his 'Underwear Rayyyy!' The whole thing just felt like the books had jumped off the page.I'd definitely recommend The Incredible Adventures of Captain Underpants to anyone who wants a good laugh. It's super silly and weird, but also has a fun message about using your imagination and being yourself. The toilet humor might be a bit much for some adults, but kids will absolutely love it! I'm already counting down until the next Captain Underpants movie. Two enthusiastic underpants up!篇2My Favorite Movie: A Kid's Review of Toy Story 4Hi everyone! My name is Lily and I'm 8 years old. Today I want to tell you all about my absolute favorite movie - Toy Story 4! I've watched it like a million times and I never get tired of it. Every time I see it, I laugh, I cry happy tears, and I have the best time ever.Toy Story 4 is about Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and all the other toys we love from the last three movies. This time, they get taken in by a new kid named Bonnie after Andy grew up. Bonnie makes a new toy called Forky out of a spork, pipe cleaners, and other craft stuff. Forky doesn't understand he's a toy at first and tries to escape, so Woody has to watch over him.On a road trip with Bonnie's family, Woody gets separated from the gang. He runs into his long-lost love Bo Peep, who is now a lost toy surviving on her own. Bo is so cool - she wears pants, carries a staff, and does ALL the rescuing herself instead of waiting for Woody. I want to be just like her when I grow up!Woody decides to go back to Bo Peep's way of life instead of returning to Bonnie. But then he meets Gabby Gabby, an old doll from the 1950s who wants Woody's voice box to make hercomplete. Gabby seems so sweet at first, but then she turns mean and nasty once she gets what she wants. I was so mad at her for betraying Woody's trust like that!Luckily, Woody has the help of Bo, her friend sheep and cop friends, and a hilarious daredevil ducky and bunny duo named Ducky and Bunny. The funniest part is when Ducky and Bunny do all these crazy stunts off lamps and tables while trying to rescue Forky. Their voices and faces when they fall are just too hilarious! In the end, Woody decides his loyalty belongs with Bonnie after all. He imparts some wise words to Bo about never giving up on your kid, even when they outgrow you. That part always makes me cry, but in a happy way. Woody rejoins his toy friends, Bonnie gets all her toys back, and Bo stays living her free life on the road. I'm so glad both Woody and Bo found happiness in the end!I love Toy Story 4 for so many reasons. First of all, the animation is beautiful and life-like, almost like the toys are real. I especially love the details on all the antique toys like Gabby Gabby and the dummies. They are so intricate and special.Second, the movie has really deep themes that even kids can understand. It explores ideas like staying loyal to the ones you love, never giving up on your purpose, appreciating what youhave instead of wanting more, and learning to move on when things change. But it's all wrapped up in a fun, adventurous story with lots of laughs too!Third, Toy Story 4 just has the most lovable characters ever. You can't help but adore Woody's bravery, Buzz's loyalty, Jessie's tough spirit, and all of their quirky humor. And I'm so obsessed with Bo Peep's new fierce persona - she's one toy you don't want to mess with! The new additions like Ducky, Bunny, and thecreepy-cool ventriloquist dummies are awesome too. Finally, I love how this Toy Story made me feel. I was smiling from ear-to-ear through most of it, on the edge of my seat during the intensity, and shedding happy tears at the heartwarming messages. When the movie ended, I just wanted to watch it all over again right away!To me, Toy Story 4 is so much more than just a kids' movie about toys. It has great morals, lovable characters, high-stakes action, and lots of humor for all ages. The writing is smart, the animation is stunning, and the whole package just fills you with so much joy and happiness.I really hope they make a 5th Toy Story because I'm not ready to let go of Woody, Buzz, and the gang yet! Pixar better keep these movies coming because this little 8-year-old willnever outgrow my love for Toy Story. If you haven't seen Toy Story 4 yet, do yourself a favor and watch it right now. I give it 500 million篇3Unit 5 Review: A Magical Journey Through Time and SpaceHey there, fellow bookworms! It's me, your friendly neighborhood book nerd, ready to take you on a wild adventure through Unit 5 of our 8th grade English textbook. Buckle up, because this unit is a rollercoaster ride of time travel, space exploration, and mind-bending concepts that will make your head spin (in a good way, of course!).First things first, let's talk about the reading passages. Oh boy, were they ever a doozy! We had everything from exploring the mysteries of time travel to unraveling the secrets of the universe. My personal favorite was the passage about the theory of relativity. I mean, who doesn't love a good mind-bending concept that challenges our understanding of space and time? It was like reading a sci-fi novel, but with actual science thrown in for good measure. But that's not all, folks! The unit also introduced us to some fascinating vocabulary words that made me feel like a real-lifescientist (or at least a sci-fi writer). Words like "wormhole," "singularity," and "event horizon" had me scratching my head at first, but thanks to the helpful explanations and examples, I soon felt like I could hold my own in a conversation with Stephen Hawking (well, maybe not quite, but a kid can dream, right?).Speaking of dreams, let's talk about the writing prompts in this unit. They were out-of-this-world! (See what I did there?) We got to imagine ourselves as time travelers, exploring different eras and civilizations. I particularly enjoyed the prompt where we had to write a letter to our future selves, describing our hopes and aspirations for the years to come. It was a great way to exercise our creative muscles and think about the boundless possibilities that lie ahead. But wait, there's more! The unit also covered somemind-boggling grammar concepts that had me scratching my head more than once. The subjunctive mood? What's that all about? And don't even get me started on the conditional sentences. It was like trying to navigate a maze of clauses and verb forms, but with a little perseverance (and maybe a few tears), I managed to emerge victorious! Now, let's talk about the listening and speaking activities. These were truly the icing on the cake (or should I say thefrosting on the cosmic cupcake?). We got to listen to fascinating interviews with scientists and researchers, imagining ourselves as intergalactic explorers venturing into the unknown. And the roleplaying activities? Pure gold! Pretending to be aliens from different planets and negotiating interstellar treaties was a blast (pun intended).Overall, Unit 5 was an absolute blast (there's that word again). It challenged us to think outside the box, to question our assumptions about the universe, and to embrace the wonders of science and exploration. And let's not forget the amazing illustrations and graphics that brought these concepts to life –they were like a visual feast for the eyes! So, there you have it, fellow bookworms. Unit 5 was a wild ride, but one that I wouldn't trade for anything. It's like our trusty English textbook took us on a cosmic journey, and we emerged as intrepid explorers of knowledge, armed with a newfound appreciation for the mysteries of the universe. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go and plan my next interstellar voyage. Who's with me?篇4The Lion King: A Timeless Animated MasterpieceWhen I was just a little cub, I remember watching The Lion King for the first time and being completely mesmerized. The vibrant colors, the unforgettable characters, and the powerful story left an indelible mark on my young mind. Now, as an eighth-grader, I've had the opportunity to revisit this cherished Disney classic, and I can confidently say that it stands the test of time as a true animated masterpiece. The Lion King is a tale as old as time, a coming-of-age story that resonates with audiences of all ages. At its core, it's a beautiful allegory about the circle of life, exploring themes of family, responsibility, and the delicate balance of nature. The narrative follows the journey of Simba, a young lion cub who is destined to become the king of the Pride Lands but is forced into exile after a tragic turn of events orchestrated by his villainous uncle, Scar. One of the most remarkable aspects of the film is its ability to seamlessly blend humor and heartbreak. From the very beginning, we are introduced to the lovable and mischievous duo of Simba and Nala, whose antics and playful banter provide moments of pure joy and laughter. Yet, the movie doesn't shy away from tackling heavier subjects, such as the loss of a parent and the weight of inheriting a kingdom. The emotional depthand nuance woven throughout the story are what truly elevate The Lion King from a mere children's movie to a timeless work of art.The characters in the film are equally captivating, each one bursting with personality and leaving an indelible mark on the viewer. Simba, voiced by the talented Matthew Broderick, is the embodiment of youthful curiosity and determination. His journey from a carefree cub to a courageous lion king is a powerful testament to the importance of facing one's fears and embracing one's destiny. Meanwhile, the wise and gentle Mufasa, voiced by the iconic James Earl Jones, serves as a paragon of leadership and fatherly love, imparting invaluable lessons to his son that resonate long after the film has ended. But it's not just the protagonists who steal the show. The Lion King boasts an unforgettable ensemble of supporting characters, each one contributing their own unique brand of humor and wisdom. From the hilarious duo of Timon and Pumbaa, whose carefree "Hakuna Matata" lifestyle provides comic relief, to the enigmatic and mystical Rafiki, who guides Simba on his spiritual journey, every character feels fully realized and essential to the storytelling. But what truly sets The Lion King apart is its timeless themes and universal resonance. At its core, the film explores the complexities of family dynamics, the weight of responsibility, and the importance of staying true to oneself. These are lessons that transcend age and culture, resonating with audiences across generations and cementing The Lion King as a true classic. As a young cub, I was captivated by the spectacle and the adventure, but now, as an eighth-grader, I can appreciate the deeper layers of the film. The Lion King is a testament to the power of storytelling, a masterfully crafted tale that seamlessly blends entertainment and profound wisdom. It's a movie that has withstood the test of time, a true animated classic that will continue to inspire and delight audiences for generations to come.In conclusion, The Lion King is a cinematic triumph, a film that perfectly captures the essence of the circle of life through its unforgettable characters, stunning animation, and timeless themes. Whether you're a wide-eyed cub experiencing it for the first time or a seasoned lion revisiting an old favorite, this movie is sure to leave an indelible mark on your heart and soul. It's a testament to the enduring power of storytelling and a shining example of the magic that can be created when art, music, andnarrative converge. The Lion King is more than just a movie – it's a cultural phenomenon, a beloved classic that will forever reign as the king of animated films.篇5My Awesome Movie Review!Hey guys! Today I'm going to tell you all about the coolest movie I saw recently. It's called "The Incredible Journey" and it's about three pets who get lost and have to find their way home. I'm going to try my best to write this review in English since that's what my teacher wants me to practice. Wish me luck! The movie starts off with this family going on vacation, and they have to leave their three pets behind - a golden retriever named Bodger, a Himalayan cat called Tao, and a very old bull terrier named Luath. The pets get put in a kennel run by this mean guy named Quinto. He seems nice at first but then he gets mad at the animals for making noise and kicks them out onto the street! Can you believe that? So rude!At first the pets are really scared because they're all alone in the wilderness with no food or shelter. But Bodger is brave and he decides they need to try and find their way back home, which is hundreds of miles away! The journey they go on is justincredible. They have to cross raging rivers, sneak through yards with vicious dogs, avoid mean hunters, and survive bitter cold nights. Through it all, they stick together and never give up.My favorite part was when they met this hilarious porcupine named Rat. He was so funny but also really wise. He taught them important survival skills and how to read the landscape. Whenever the pets were feeling down, Rat would cheer them up with his silly jokes. I loved him! There were also some really scary and tense moments that had me on the edge of my seat. Like when Luath fell through the ice on a frozen lake - I actually screamed out loud I was so worried for him! And the time when Tao got caught in a hunter's trap was terrifying. I'm just so glad they all made it through okay. What I loved most about this movie though, was the amazing bond between the three pets. Even though they were all so different, they looked out for each other like a little family. Luath was the wise old leader, Bodger was the brave protector, and Tao was the clever navigator. Together they were unstoppable! The scenery in the movie was breathtaking too. The forests, mountains, rivers and fields they traveled through were all so beautiful. It really made me want to go exploring outside moreinstead of sitting around playing video games all day. The movie did a great job showing how wild and wonderful nature can be.I don't want to give away the ending, but I'll just say I was cheering and maybe even cried happy tears when the pets finally made it home. Their owners were so relieved and grateful to be reunited. It's a really heartwarming tale about the importance of perseverance, friendship and finding your way back to the ones you love.Overall I'd give "The Incredible Journey" two thumbs up and five giant doggy treats out of five! It's an inspiring adventure that tugs at your heartstrings. The animal actors were all sowell-trained and expressive too. Even though they couldn't talk, you could understand exactly what they were thinking and feeling.I really can't recommend this movie enough, especially for kids and animal lovers. Just make sure to have a box of tissues handy because you'll definitely need them! "The Incredible Journey" proves that with courage, brains and an unbreakable spirit, you can overcome any obstacles in your path. What an awesome lesson to learn! So that's my review! I better go now since my English homework is calling. Let me know if you've seen this flick and what you thought of it. Laters taters!篇6Here's an essay review of Unit 5 from the 8th grade English textbook (PEP edition) in about 2000 words, written from the perspective of an elementary school student:Unit 5 – Animal WorldWow, Unit 5 was really cool! It was all about animals and I learned so much. I love animals, so this was my favorite unit so far.The unit started with a really interesting text called "The Way of the Dolphin." It was about these incredibly smart sea creatures called dolphins. I had no idea dolphins were so intelligent! The passage talked about how they have their own language and can communicate with each other. It said they can even give each other names and work together as a team to catch fish. That's just mind-blowing if you ask me. Dolphins seem like such amazing animals. After learning about the incredible dolphin, we studied some poems and stories featuring other cool animals. My favorite was the poem "The Tiger" by William Blake. I loved the vivid descriptions of the tiger's fierce beauty and power. The imagery in the poem was so strong, I could picture the striped beast prowling through the forest. Poetry can sometimes be hard to understand, but this one really spoke to me as an animal lover. We also read some great stories starring our furry friends. "Androcles and the Lion" was a classic fable reminding us that kindness is always rewarded, even from unexpected sources. And the funny story "The Camping Trip" had me laughing at the misadventures of a family's dog and cat on vacation. Stories with animal characters are the best because they let our imaginations run wild. One of the highlights was our group project researching endangered species around the world. It was sad to learn how many incredible animals are at risk of going extinct, like pandas, tigers, and gorillas. But it inspired me and my friends to want to do more to protect wildlife and their environments. We even wrote letters to local officials asking what more our community could do. Hopefully the grown-ups will listen! The readings and activities had me thinking a lot about my role on this planet we all share with the animals. I realized how important it is for humans to be good stewards of nature. After all, the animals were here first and this is their home too! We need to find better ways to coexist with other species, not just destroy their habitats. All in all, I'd give Unit 5 two thumbs up (or should I say two paws up?). Between the engaging stories, beautiful poems, and eye-opening facts, it really opened my eyes to the incredible animal kingdom. I have a much deeper appreciation for all creatures great and small after this unit. Thanks to my English textbook, this young nature lover's mind was further enriched. Unit 5 was awesome sauce!。
