Ⅰ. Warming-up
1.Enjoy a song What makes a good friend
2.Game:Guessing who she/he is?
Try to write at least 3 sentences in your paper to describe one of your classmates. And let us guess who is she/he.
Remember do not mention his/her name.
Example:
My best friend has long hair. She is taller than me. She wears glasses. She is a very hard-working girl.
3.Discussion:Is he a good friend?
1). When you have problems, he doesn't want to help you.
2). When you’re tired, he does homework for you.
3). When you are sad, he goes away.
4). When you don't know the answers in the test, he gives you the answers to copy.
Ⅱ. Presentation
1.If you think there’s something important for a good friend. What do you think it is?

1).Show some pictures on the big screen. Let Ss read the key expressions:
I think a good friend makes me laugh.

2). Language points:
●talented 意为“天生有才能的,有天分的”,作形容词。

词组be talented in 意为
“在……方面有天分”。

talent意为“与生俱来的才能,天赋”,作为名词。

e.g. Tom is talented in painting.汤姆在绘画方面有天分。

I don’t have much talent for music.我在音乐方面没什么天分。

●true 形容词,意为“真的,真实的”;
truly 副词,意为“真实地;真心地”,词义相当于sincerely。

truth意为“真相;事实”,是不可数名词,常与the连用。

但当它表示“真理”时,是可数名词。

e.g. I’m truly sorry that things had to end like this.我真的很抱歉事情这样结束。

●care about是动词短语,意为“关心;在意”, 后面接名词、代词或动名词。

care
about 意为关心,其同义词是care for。

care for 除了“关心”之外,还有“喜欢”
之意。

e.g.We Chinese should care about / for our country. 我们中国人应当关心我们的国家。

拓展:(1)care用作动词,意为“对……在意,对……计较”,相当于mind。

e.g. I don’t care what to eat or what to wear at all.
我根本不计较吃什么、穿什么。

(2)take care意为“小心,当心”,相当于be careful。

e.g. Take care! A car is coming. 当心!一辆汽车开过来了。

(3)take care of意为“照顾,照看”,相当于look after。

e.g. Please take care of my pet dog while I’m away.
在我离开时请照顾我的宠物狗。

●make sb.do sth. 意为“让某人做某事”, make后接不带to的不定式作宾语补足语。

make “使,促使”,在此是使役动词。

当它作“使,让”讲时,常见结构是:make + 人(宾语)+ 动词原形(宾补);make + 宾语+ 形容词(宾补)。

2.Play the recording the first time. Finish1c.
3.Play the recording a second time. Finish 1d.
4.Listen again and check your answers.
Interviewer: Who’s your best friend, Molly?Molly: Peter.
Interviewer: Why do you like him?
