外国人来中国必尝的美食英语作文
My Favorite Chinese Foods That Foreigners Must Try
Hi there! My name is Lily and I'm a 10-year-old girl living in Beijing, China. I love food, especially delicious Chinese cuisine! Since you're a foreigner visiting China, I want to tell you about some yummy Chinese dishes that you absolutely have to try.
Let's start with dumplings! Dumplings (called jiaozi in Chinese) are little pouches of dough filled with delicious ingredients like pork, vegetables, and seasonings. My favorite is pork and cabbage dumplings. You can have them boiled, steamed, or pan-fried. Pan-fried dumplings are the best because the bottom gets all crispy and golden brown. Mmm, my mouth is watering just thinking about them! You dip the dumplings in a mixture of soy sauce, vinegar, and sometimes a little chili oil or garlic. Foreigners seem to love dumplings because they're like little flavor bombs in your mouth.
Another food you need to eat in China is Peking duck. This is a famous Beijing dish where they roast a whole duck until the skin is super crispy. The duck is sliced up and you wrap pieces of the meat and crispy skin in these thin pancakes with green onions, cucumber, and sweet bean sauce. Every bite is an
explosion of crispy, juicy, and sweet flavors. I can never get enough Peking duck! It takes a long time to make it properly, so you need to go to a restaurant that specializes in Peking duck.
Speaking of duck, you also have to taste Sichuan food while you're in China. Sichuan is a province in southwestern China and their cuisine is famous worldwide for being super spicy and full of intense flavors. Some must-try Sichuan dishes are mapo tofu (a spicy tofu dish with minced pork), kung pao chicken (diced chicken with peanuts in a fiery sauce), and dan dan noodles (noodles with a crazy delicious spicy sauce and minced pork topping). Your mouth will be tingling with the numbing spice of Sichuan peppercorns, but in the best way possible! I love eating Sichuan food because every bite makes my taste buds dance.
On the flip side, you should also eat some yummy Cantonese food while in China. Cantonese cuisine is from the Guangdong province in southern China and it focuses on allowing the fresh, natural flavors of the ingredients to shine through. Dim sum is a famous Cantonese meal with tons of little steamed and fried dishes like shrimp dumplings (har gow), barbecue pork buns (char siu bao), and rice noodle rolls (cheung fun). My favorite dim sum snack is egg tarts - they have a crispy tart shell with a creamy, sweet egg custard filling. You eat dim sum by ordering
all these small plates and sharing with your friends and family. It's delicious and fun!
Another classic Chinese food is hot pot, which is perfect for dining with a group. You get a big pot of simmering broth in the middle of the table along with plates of thinly sliced meats, seafood, vegetables, noodles, dumplings, and more. You cook everything yourself by swishing it around in the hot broth. My favorite hot pot style is the Sichuan spicy variety with a tongue-tingling broth and lots of beef, fish balls, mushrooms and quail eggs to cook. Dip your cooked morsels in sesame sauce and enjoy! Hot pot is tasty, interactive and you get to try a huge variety of different foods.
You can't leave China without trying some traditional Chinese desserts and snacks. Some yummy ones are egg custard tarts, candied fruit like lychee, coconut milk-based soups with tapioca pearls and tropical fruits, and my personal favorite - tanghulu (candied fruit kebabs with hawthorn berries, grapes, strawberries, and more covered in a sweet, crispy sugar coating). Chinese desserts use a lot of interesting flavors and textures compared to Western desserts.
There are so many more delicious Chinese foods I want to tell you about, but I've already written quite a lot! Just remember
that Chinese cuisine is incredibly diverse because China is such a huge country with many different regional cooking styles. But no matter where you go, the food is sure to be flavorful, inventive, and downright tasty. Eat as much as you can while you're here! Chinese food is one of the best parts about visiting this amazing country. Let me know if you need any other food recommendations. Enjoy your trip!。
