Charge (end of charged voltage) – Discharge (end of discharge voltage) Cycling。
• Cells with a liquid cathode shall also conditioned by one-half discharge
Secondary batteries are continuously cycled as per the manufacture’s specifications—the full rated capacity is used and the number of cycles accumulated shall be at least equal to 25% of the advertised cycle life or cycled continuously 90 days, whichever is shorter.
– 试图在移除和丢弃电池时,降低因起火或爆炸对人员伤害的危 险
– 不包含吞咽电池或其成份,也不包含因切开电池而接触到其有 毒成份的危险
Glossary
BATTERY – General term for (1) A single cell, or (2) a group of cells connected together either in a series and/or parallel configuration. May be ready for use or may be an installed component. BATTERY PACK – A battery which is ready for use, contained in a rigid enclosure, with or without protective devices.
New Model
Primary batteries are to be completely discharged by connecting their terminals through resistors that provide
the desired level of discharge within 60 days.
– 对于锂一次电池,首次申请或电池有新的化学特性(新的正极材 料),需要在室温下Complete Discharge(60天内)以及Onehalf Discharge(仅针对液态阴极)

CHARGED, FULLY A battery is considered fully charged when the maximum amount of electrical capacity, as specified by the manufacturer, is stored in the battery. DISCHARGED, COMPLETELY A primary cell or battery is considered completely discharged if the closed circuit voltage is less than 0.2 V, when connected to a 100-Ω resistive load and the short-circuit current has been reduced to less than 1 mA. DISCHARGED, FULLY A condition of the battery representing depletion of 100% of its rated capacity (for a primary cell or battery) or depletion to its end-point-voltage as specified by the manufacturer (for a secondary cell or battery). DISCHARGED, HALF A battery is considered half discharged when half of the battery's rated electrical capacity has been drained from it.

COMPONENT, CURRENT-LIMITING – Any component employed to limit current during abnormal conditions. Current-limiting components include resistors, fuses, or thermal cutoffs. CURRENT, ABNORMAL CHARGING – Charging current to a primary cell or battery under fault condition.
6
Glossary
BATTERY, PRIMARY – A battery which can only be discharged once. It is not designed to be rechargeable and must be protected from a charging current. BATTERY, SECONDARY – A battery that is intended to be discharged and recharged many times in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.

A – As Received B – Check the test report of similar cells where preconditioning was conducted prior to testing. If the data on the preconditioned samples is more severe than the data for the fresh samples for the same cells, the variation testing shall also be conducted on samples subjected to the applicable preconditioning. C – Only conducted on Primary User Replaceable or Secondary cells D – Not conducted if mfg accepts the lower of the two abnormal charging current ratings E – Not conducted if vent is identical F – Test only if series application. For “n” number of cells in series, the total amount of samples is 5 x n. G – Since prismatic cells require two test orientations, 10 samples will be required for prismatic type. H - To test cells conditioned at the operating region boundaries per UL 1642 6.3 – 6.5, 10 cells will be required for secondary cells. I - Rechargeable battery cell some time makes vent during the testing. If the previous test result was vented, then Abnormal Charging testing is also necessary. J - The melt point of separator such as polyethylene is approx. 120C (It can be shut down the cell). If the surface temperature of previous test result is more than 100C, internal temperature may be more than 120C. In addition, if battery cell does not have protection device such as PTC, Short Circuit testing will be completed by melting of separator and/or complete discharge. K – Based on actual conditions, additional 5 to 10 samples may be necessary as backup, which has been added in this row.
