英语作文介绍自己的家人并用上比较级My Big, Happy Family
My name is Emily and I am 10 years old. I have a really big family that I love very much. We may be a bit louder and crazier than some other families, but we have so much fun together. Let me tell you about all the great people in my family!
First, there are my parents - Mom and Dad. My mom's name is Sarah and she is the nicest, most caring person I know. She works really hard as a nurse to take care of people at the hospital. But no matter how tired she is, she always has a warm hug and a listening ear for me when I need it. Mom makes the yummiest chocolate chip cookies too - even better than the ones they sell at the bakery!
My dad's name is Michael and he is the funniest, silliest dad around. He tells the corniest jokes that always make me laugh, even when I've heard them a million times before. Dad works at a big office downtown, but his favorite job is being my coach for soccer and basketball. He runs around on the field with me and my teammates yelling encouragement. I think he gets more out of breath than we do!
I'm the oldest of four kids in my family. My little brother Jake is 8 years old and he is the most energetic boy you'll ever meet. He never stops running, jumping, and climbing - getting him to sit still is practically impossible! Jake loves anything with wheels like bikes, scooters, and skateboards. He's a total dare-devil and has had more scraped knees than I can count. Under all that energy though, he has a heart of gold and is really sweet to our baby sister.
Speaking of my sister, her name is Lily and she is 2 years younger than Jake. Lily is definitely the quietest one in our loud family. She is super smart and well-behaved compared to the rest of us rambunctious kids. Lily loves to read big novels that are way above her grade level. She has a tremendous vocabulary and uses fancier words than even our parents do sometimes! Lily also takes ballet lessons and is the most graceful little dancer. When she's up on stage, it's hard to believe she's related to the rest of our crazy crew!
Then there are my grandparents who live right next door - Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Frank. They are both retired and have been married for over 40 years. Out of everyone, I think Grandpa is the most stubborn person I know. He insists on doing everything himself, even tasks that are too difficult for him at his
old age. Grandpa and Dad butt heads a lot because they're both so set in their ways. But Grandpa's loud voice and tough exterior hides the biggest teddy bear you've ever seen. He loves showering us grandkids with adventures, treats, and stories about his childhood.
Grandma Debbie couldn't be more different from Grandpa - she is the most gentle, sweet-natured person. Grandma is endlessly patient, whether it's helping me with my math homework or overlooking the messes my brothers and sister make at her house. She has the most delicate appearance with her petite frame and lovely silver hair. But Grandma is tougher than she looks - she could outwrestle a bear if she had to protect one of her grandkids! Her homemade chicken noodle soup is hands-down the most comforting, delicious food in the entire world.
Last but not least, there are my aunts, uncles, and cousins who we see a lot since they all live close by. My aunt Melissa is Dad's oldest sister, and she has the most infectious, loudest laugh you'll ever hear. She is the most hilarious person at any family gathering - always cracking jokes and doing silly impersonations that have everyone doubled over in laughter. Aunt Melissa is fearless and adventurous too. She has been a
flight attendant for 20 years and has traveled to the coolest, most exotic places all around the world.
Uncle Jeff is Aunt Melissa's husband, and he is probably the most easy-going relative I have. Nothing ever seems to rattle him or make him lose his temper. He just goes with the flow in his calm, laid-back way. Uncle Jeff has the most impressive collection of baseball caps I've ever seen too. He seems to have a cap from every team and every baseball event ever! Whenever we're all together, he is always up for a game of catch or batting practice with me and my brothers.
My cousins are a blast to have around too. Jacob and Emma are Uncle Jeff and Aunt Melissa's kids. Jacob is 14 and the most athletic guy I know. He's on every sports team at school and has more trophies than you can count. Jacob is the coolest cousin to have on your team for any game, because he is the most competitive and never gives up until we win. At the same time though, he has the greatest sense of humor and never takes things too seriously.
Emma is the youngest cousin at 11 years old, and she is by far the most creative one in the family. She is always making the most elaborate arts and crafts projects. Last month, she made this huge model city out of popsicle sticks that was hands-down
the most impressive thing I'd ever seen. Emma comes up with the craziest, most imaginative games for us to play too. Thanks to her, we've had legendary adventures as explorers, princes and princesses, spies, you name it! Playing with Emma is never, ever boring.
On my mom's side, I have Uncle David who is probably the smartest person I know. He is a professor at the university and literally knows everything about every subject. His brain is like a never-ending vault of facts, figures, and fascinating stories. Uncle David has read more books than anyone else I've ever met too. Whenever I need help with a school project or have a question about anything, Uncle David is the best resource. His explanations are so clear and engaging.
Then there is Aunt Grace who is Uncle David's wife. She is without a doubt the most fashionable, stylish lady around. Aunt Grace always looks picture-perfect gorgeous no matter what she's doing - whether cooking a gourmet meal, working in the garden, or just lounging on the couch. Her sense of style is impeccable and she has the most enviable wardrobe and accessories. I want to be just like her when I grow up! Aunt Grace is also the most warm and welcoming host. Being at her and Uncle David's place always feels like a 5-star hotel.
Whew, that's my huge, crazy family for you! Writing about all of them makes me feel so lucky and grateful. Yes, my family is loud, messy, and a bit all over the place. But we people sure know how to love, laugh, and have fun together. I wouldn't want it any other way!。
