[命题点]Except for some twins, every living thing has its own unique DNA。
除了同卵双胞胎之外, 每个生物都有自己独特的DNA.
短语except for意为“除……之外”。
如:

辨析:except for、except、besides和but
except 意为“除了”, 强调不在其中,指从同类事物的总体中除去一部分
except
意为“除了”, 表示对主要部分的肯定以及对局部的否定
for
besides 意为“除了……之外(还有)”,后面接名词、代词、或动名词,但不能接从句意为“除……外”, 强调不在其中,与except可互换,多与no、nobody、who、where、but
