Dear Lily,
Happy, happy birthday! I'm so excited that it's your special day. I hope you have the most amazing birthday ever!
Can you believe we're already 10 years old? It feels like just yesterday we were starting kindergarten. Remember how scared we were on the first day? I was so nervous, but then you came up to me during recess and asked if I wanted to play tag. From that moment on, we became best friends. We've been inseparable ever since!
We've had so many fun adventures together over the years. Remember that time we had a sleepover and stayed up all night telling spooky stories? We were so scared, but we couldn't stop laughing. Or that time we put on a magic show for our families and made your little brother "disappear" inside the box? He was so surprised!
My favorite memories are all the times we played outside until it got dark. We would run around, climb trees, and use our
imaginations to pretend we were explorers or superheroes saving the world. You always had the best ideas for games to play. I'll never forget building forts in your backyard and defending them in our big battles. We got so dirty, but we didn't care. Playing outside with you was the most fun ever!
I'm so lucky to have you as my bestie. You always know how to make me smile when I'm feeling sad. Remember when I fell off the swing and scraped my knee? You gave me a big hug and then we laughed about how silly I looked with that huge bandage. You're the best at cheering me up!
And you're also the smartest person I know. You help me with my math homework and always explain things in a way that makes sense to me. I don't know what I'd do without you helping me study. You're going to be an amazing scientist or teacher when you grow up because you're so smart and great at explaining things. Just don't get too smart and forget about me!
I'm so glad we're in the same class again this year. School wouldn't be nearly as fun without you by my side. We have the best time whispering jokes during lessons and trying not to get caught laughing. Remember when we giggled so hard during the spelling test that we got in trouble? That was the best!
I put so much thought into picking out the perfect gift for you this year. I wanted to get you something really special since you're such an amazing friend. I really hope you love it! We'll have to find time to use it together soon. Maybe this weekend you can sleep over and we can try it out?
Lily, you are truly the coolest, funniest, and most awesome person I know. I'm so grateful to have a friend like you in my life. Thanks for being by my side through thick and thin, and for always making me laugh no matter what.
I can't wait to celebrate your birthday with you! We're going to have an epic party with cake, presents, and tons of fun. This is just the beginning of another year filled with incredible adventures and making tons of new memories together. Whatever the future holds, I know we'll keep being best friends forever. Girlfriends for life!
Have the happiest 10th birthday, bestie! I love you!
Your BFF,
[Your Name]

Dear Jessica,
Happy Birthday! I'm so excited that it's your special day today. I've been counting down the days on my calendar for weeks. Birthdays are just the best, aren't they? I love everything about them - the presents, the cake, the party games, and most of all, celebrating with my very best friend in the whole world - you!
I still remember when we first met on the playground in kindergarten. You were the new girl and didn't know anyone. I came up to you and asked if you wanted to play princesses with me. You said yes, and we've been inseparable ever since! We've had so many fun adventures and made a million awesome memories together over the years.
Remember that time in first grade when we decided to put on a magic show for our families? We spent weeks practicing tricks, making wands out of chopsticks, and designing the fanciest princess costumes. The show was a total disaster! The basket we were supposed to pull the rabbit out of tipped over, the wands broke, and we got our princess gowns all tangled. But you know what? We just laughed until our bellies hurt. That's my favorite thing about you - you always make the best out of any situation and find a way to have fun no matter what.
Or how about that time in third grade when we entered the science fair? We worked so hard on our experiment about which kind of candy dissolved fastest in different liquids. We were convinced our project was going to win the whole thing. I'll never forget the look on our faces when we found out we got last place! You gave me a big hug and said "Who cares? Now we have an excuse to eat all the leftover candy!" Leave it to you to cheer me up.
Fourth grade was epic - we joined Brownie scouts together and went on our first camping trip. I was so scared to sleep in the tent, but you made a fort out of our sleeping bags and we told ghost stories all night long. We couldn't stop giggling! I'm pretty sure we kept the whole campground awake. That was definitely one of the best weekends of my life so far.
Now here we are, about to finish up fifth grade in a few months. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. Pretty soon, we'll be old enough to go to middle school! I'm a little nervous about having to switch classes, make new friends, and deal with all the drama I've heard about from the older kids. But you know what? As long as I have you by my side, I'm not worried at all. We can take on anything life throws our way, just like we've been doing since we were five years old.
On your birthday, I want you to know how grateful I am to have you as my best friend. You are the most kind, funny, and awesome person I know. You always know how to cheer me up when I'm sad and make me laugh until my stomach hurts. You're an amazing artist, and I'm so impressed by all the beautiful pictures you create. You're also wicked smart and great at math - way better than me! I admire how hard you work in school and that you're not afraid to be a total brainiac.
Most importantly, you have the biggest heart of anyone I've ever met. You're a true friend who is always there for me, no matter what. You stick up for me, keep my secrets safe, and make me feel like a total superstar every single day. I don't know what I would do without your kindness, loyalty, and our million inside jokes that make no sense to anyone but us.
So on your 11th birthday, I hope you have the happiest, most fantastic, over-the-top celebration ever! You deserve to be showered with presents, stuffed with cake, and surrounded by everyone who loves you. I can't wait to party all night, playing games and laughing until we can hardly breathe. It's going to be an epic birthday bash, because that's what my best friend in the world deserves.
Thank you for being you, Jessica. Thank you for brightening my life and making it so much fun. I am who I am because of you. Here's to many more years of adventures, memories, and friendship!
Love always,
Your BFF (best friend forever) Sarah

Dear Samantha,
Happy birthday! I'm so excited that it's your birthday today. I hope you have the best day ever! When I woke up this morning, I remembered that it was your special day. That's why I wanted to write you this super long letter to celebrate you.
We've been best friends since we were just little kids in kindergarten. I still remember the first day I met you on the playground. You were wearing a pink dress with flowers on it and you had pigtails in your hair. I thought you were the prettiest girl I had ever seen! I was too shy to talk to you at first, but then you came over and asked if I wanted to play hopscotch with you. Ever since that day, we've been inseparable.
We've had so many fun adventures and made so many amazing memories together over the years. Remember that time in first grade when we put on a magic show for our families? I'll never forget how you "magically" pulled a endless stream of colorful scarves out of your hat. Everyone was in awe of your skills! Or what about the time we went camping with our families in second grade and we stayed up all night telling scary stories by the campfire? I was so scared, but having you there with me made me feel brave.
In third grade, we joined the school's chess club together. We had so much fun learning all the strategies and getting better and better until we were competing in tournaments. I'm so proud of you for winning that big trophy at the city championship last year! You're seriously the best chess player I know.
Just last week, we were rehearsing for the big fourth grade play you're starring in as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. I can't wait to see you perform on stage this weekend. I just know
you're going to be absolutely amazing! You're such a talented singer and actress. Maybe you'll be a famous movie star one day. If that happens, don't forget about me when you're rich and famous!
You're truly the perfect best friend, Samantha. You're kind, funny, smart, talented, and the most loyal person I know. I'm so grateful we became friends all those years ago on the playground. I honestly don't know what I'd do without you in my life. You make every day brighter and more fun when I'm with you.
For your birthday, I got you that art set you wanted with all the colored pencils, paints, sketchbooks, and other supplies. I can't wait to see all the beautiful drawings and paintings you'll create with it. You're so artistic and creative. I also baked you my famous double chocolate chip cookies – I know how much you love them! And the biggest present is the surprise party I planned for you after school today at your house. I invited all our friends from class to celebrate with cake, ice cream, party games, and more!
Samantha, you deserve to have the happiest birthday ever today. You're such an incredible friend and amazing person inside and out. I hope every wish you make comes true and that you have your best year yet being nine years old. I'll be right there by your side for many more adventures, laughter, and fun memories to come.
Your bestie forever,
Taylor

Dear Jessica,
Happy birthday! I'm super excited because today is your special day. I've been counting down the days on my calendar for weeks, and I can't believe it's finally here!
Remember when we first met on the playground in kindergarten? You were that shy little girl clutching her teddy bear, and I was the loud, crazy one running around and getting my clothes all dirty. Who would have thought we'd end up being best friends forever?
We've had so many fun adventures together over the years. Remember that time we tried to have a lemonade stand, but accidentally used salt instead of sugar? Yuck! That didn't turn out too well. Or how about the time we snuck into the school at night because we thought there was a ghost, but it turned out to be the janitor mopping the hallway? We were so scared, but we laughed about it for weeks after.
We've been through a lot together - good times and bad times. Remember in 2nd grade when you broke your arm after falling off the monkey bars? I felt so bad for you having to wear
that huge cast all summer. But I came over every day to keep you company and sign your cast with silly drawings. And you were there for me when my grandma got really sick. You made me those cute construction paper cards that always cheered me up.
Through all the ups and downs, we've stuck by each other's side like two peas in a pod. You're honestly the best friend a girl could ask for, Jessica. You always know how to make me smile, even on my worst days. Whether we're being total goofballs and dressing up in crazy costumes, or just laying out under the stars talking about our hopes and dreams, I cherish every minute we spend together.
Now we're in 5th grade, and it's so hard to believe we'll be heading off to middle school next year. Part of me is sad that we're growing up so fast, but another part of me is excited for all the adventures that are yet to come. No matter where life takes us, I know our friendship will never change. We'll always be Jessica and Sarah, best friends forever and ever.
On your birthday, I want you to know how truly special you are to me. You're kind, caring, funny, smart, and the most loyal friend anyone could ask for. You always see the bright side of things, no matter what. You're Like a ray of sunshine brightening
every room you walk into. The world is a better place with you in it.
I hope you have the happiest birthday ever! I can't wait to give you a huge bear hug and celebrate with cake, presents, and an epic sleepover later. Get ready for a day filled with tons of fun, laughter, and making amazing memories (just like always!). You deserve it, birthday girl!
Best friends forever and always,
Sarah

Dear Billy,
Happy Birthday! I hope you have the best day ever on your special day. You are turning 9 years old today - wow, you're getting to be such a big kid! I can't believe we've been best friends for almost 5 years already since we met in pre-school. We've had so many fun adventures and good times together.
Do you remember that time in kindergarten when we had that silly argument about whether dinosaurs could swim or not? We went back and forth forever, both totally convinced we were right. Then Mrs. Watson had to break it up and explain to us that
some dinosaurs could swim in the water while others just lived on land. We felt kind of dumb after that but it was really funny. Or how about that field trip to the fire station in first grade? We got to try on those huge firefighter jackets and hats, and they were massively big on us. We could hardly even walk around with all that heavy gear on! The firefighters thought we looked hilarious.
Then there was the time last year at summer camp when we decided to have an epic prank war with the boys in the other cabin. We strategically filled their cabin with those tiny plastic baby doll accessories, and they got us back by putting a garden gnome in our shower! We kept getting crazier and crazier with the pranks until the camp counselors eventually put a stop to it. But man, did we have a blast with that! We definitely kept them on their toes.
This year in third grade has been awesome too. I'm so glad we got put in the same class again with Mrs. Roberts. Her math lessons are hard but I'm able to understand them better when you explain things in that way that only makes sense to you. Like when you said algebra was sort of like that scene in Star Wars where they play that holo-chess game, trying to outmaneuver the other player and get to the end goal. After you said that,
algebra clicked for me in a whole new way. You're really good at coming up with creative explanations like that.
Remember that ahhhh-mazing game of kickball at recess a couple months ago? It was down to the final few runs and our team was just barely behind. Then you kicked that insane line drive all the way into the parking lot which cleared the bases and won us the game! Everyone cheered and rushed the field, carrying you on their shoulders like you were the MVP of the World Series or something. I've never seen a more legendary kickball moment in my life. You're like a kid sports hero!
I also wanted to say thanks for sticking up for me that time when Joey Jenkins was picking on me for my Star Trek lunchbox. You told him in no uncertain terms that you thought the lunchbox was cool and that he should leave me alone about it. Joey was pretty surprised when you Vulcan death-gripped his arm to make your point! It meant a lot that you had my back like that. You're a great friend, Billy.
Well, I don't want to ramble on too much longer here. Just know that I'm really grateful we're buddies and I hope you have the raddest 9th birthday party this weekend. My parents said it's fine if I sleep over after, so maybe we can binge the entire second season of Mecha-Battles Z and construct a truly gargantuan
Lego spaceship! Whatever we end up doing, it's sure to be legendary just by virtue of you and me doing it together. That's just how we roll!
Happy 9th birthday again, Billy! Thank you fur-real for being the cool, loyal, amazing friend that you are. This year is going to be off the chains!
Your bestie,
Tommy。
