This is not my first reading of this book,but is my first reading the English one.I don’t finish the whole book in this holiday,so I can only tell the most impressed scene. There is a poor boy named Crossi,who has a dead arm,and whose mother sells vegetables.So he is always being tormented by some naughty boys.One day morning,the naughty boys tease Crossi again.At the beginning,Crossi bears the all laughing.But nobody can bear the shame all the time,so does Crossi.He cannot bear the impolite guys any more.So he throws the inkstand to them,but fails.Unfortunately,the inkstand is thrown to his master.What a terrible thing it is.This is not the end of the story.When the master asks who did this,Garrone replaces Crossi to afford the responsibility.When the master know the truth at last,he doesn’t criticize the naughty boys strictly,oppositely he forgives them.
The reason why this scene impress me deeply is not only the behavior of Carrone,but also the attitude of teacher.In China,we can easily recognize that when a person makes a mistake,he needs to pay the price of doing this,especially the person is a little child.We always punish the child to let them remember what is wrong,rather than telling him(or her) the sense.
Reading this book,I find many differences of education between home and abroad.It is very interesting I think.。
