学校志愿服务组招募志愿者,英语作文Call for Volunteers! Join the Helping Hands Club
Hi friends! My name is Emily and I'm the President of the Helping Hands Club at Oakdale Elementary School. I'm here to tell you all about our amazing club and why you should totally join us!
The Helping Hands Club is a group of students who love helping others and making our community a better place. We do all sorts of fun volunteer activities throughout the school year. Last year, we had an awesome time with all the projects we worked on.
One of my favorite things we did was the school supply drive. We collected tons of pencils, notebooks, crayons, and other supplies to donate to kids who didn't have enough money to buy them. It felt so good to know we were helping other students get the tools they needed to learn.
We also volunteered at the local animal shelter. We got to play with the cats and dogs, feed them treats, and give them lots of cuddles and belly rubs. The puppies were so cute and energetic! The kittens were really sweet too. I'm pretty sure a few
of us wanted to take them all home. The shelter staff was really grateful for our help.
Another really cool project was when we did yard work for elderly neighbors who had a hard time keeping up with gardening and lawn care. We raked leaves, pulled weeds, planted flowers, and more. The neighbors were thrilled and made us delicious lemonade and cookies as a thank you. Their yards looked amazing when we were done!
Those are just a few examples of the fun volunteering we did. We have a lot more awesome activities planned for the upcoming school year. Here's a sneak peek:
Park clean-up day to pick up litter and tidy up the playground
Book drive to collect books for the children's hospital
Making holiday cards for veterans and troops overseas
Visiting a nursing home to spend time with residents
Food bank volunteering to sort and pack donated items
Joining Helping Hands is an incredible way to make new friends, learn about your community, develop leadership skills,
and help make the world a little bit better. Volunteering makes you feel good inside too!
When you're part of the club, you get a cool Helping Hands t-shirt to wear. You'll also get volunteer hour credits on your record for college applications and other future opportunities. But most importantly, you'll be part of a group of awesome kids working together to help others.
The best part about Helping Hands is that we listen to all our members' ideas. If you have an idea for a volunteering project, we're all ears! We love finding new ways to lend a hand. You can share your thoughts at our club meetings.
Speaking of meetings, we get together once a week after school to plan upcoming events, hear from guest speakers doing community service, play team-building games, and just have a good time being around other kids who care about volunteering. There's always lemonade and snacks too!
I really hope you'll consider joining Helping Hands this year. It's such a rewarding experience and tons of fun too! Just print out the membership form from the school website and turn it in to Ms. Jackson in the front office. You can also ask her any other questions you might have.
Families are welcome to join as well! Sometimes we have whole family volunteering events on weekends. It's a nice way for parents and kids to spend quality time together while helping others.
Well, that's the scoop on Helping Hands! We're a positive, energetic, and caring group of kids who love making a difference. I'm so proud to be the club president this year. I can't wait to see new and returning members soon!
If you've gotten this far, you must be at least a little interested in joining. What are you waiting for? Sign up today and get ready for a year of awesome volunteering adventures. Thank you for your time, and I'll see you at the first Helping Hands meeting!
Your friend,
Emily。
