Crop circles, first appeared in 1647, in England; has a long history with 365 years. But they did not gain much attention until the first modern crop circles appeared in Britain, in 1972. From them on, more than 2000 such circles appeared in the fields all over the world, expect South Africa. The shapes of those circles are different, but nearly all of them are symmetrical; and they are becoming more and more complicated. These strange phenomenon aroused people’s interests: many scientists, geographers, physicists, as well as organizations devoted themselves to find out how these amazing works came out. Unfortunately, until now, no one could make a convincing explanation for how those circles formed. In general, there are 6 explanations: the first one is the earth’s magnetism, which is said that it is the magnetism from the earth that makes them. The second explanation is the effect of tornado. The third one is about prediction which people believe that those circles are the premonition of some kind of disaster. Also, like other strange appearances, some people believed it is the masterpiece from the creature outside the earth. Still some think they are constructed by human beings as a prank. And the last one is high frequent radiation theory. As far as I am concerned, the most unconvincing explanation is the man-made theory: firstly, I can’t image that human beings could make such huge complicated project in such a short time without any vestiges. Secondly, there were many physical characters that appeared in those mysterious circles, like strengthen of infrared ray, which oppose to the theory. Also, according to the physical characters and the well-made shapes, I doubt the tornado explanation. Still, the prediction theory isridiculous to me, because, in my eyes, every phenomenon occurred in some specific reason, we can not simply attribute them to prediction when we can not explain. As for the other three theories, I think they’re both possible for some reasons. In a word, people still can not tell exactly how those circles appeared; as the time goes, I hope that we could finally find out the reason why they occurred.。

It may save a life. In many emergencies, first aid may prevent a victim's condition from turning worse and provide relief from pain. First aid must be administered as quickly as possible. In the case of the critically injured, a few minutes can make a difference.Firstaid measures depend upon the victim's needs and the provider's level of knowledge and skill. Knowing what not to do in an emergency is as important as knowing what to do. Improperly moving a person with a neck injury, for example, can lead to permanent spinal (脊柱的) injury and paralysis (瘫痪).Despite the variety of injuries, several principles of first aid can apply to all emergencies. The first step is to call for professional medical help. The victim, if conscious, should be reassured that medical aid has been requested, and asked for permission to provide any first aid. Next, assess the scene, asking people around or the injured person's family or friends about details of the injury or illness, any care that may have already been given, and preexisting conditions such as diabetes (糖尿病) or heart trouble. The victim should be checked for a medical card that describes special medical conditions. Unless the accident scene becomes unsafe or the victim may suffer further injury, do not move the victim.First aid requires rapid assessment of victims to determine whether lifethreatening conditions exist. One method for evaluating a victim's condition is known as the acronym (首字母缩略词) ABC, which stands for:A—Airway: Is it open and clear?B—Breathing: Is the person breathing? Look, listen and feel for breathing.C—Circulation: Is there a pulse? Is the person bleeding externally? Checkskin color and temperature for additional indications of circulation problems.

Crop CirclesⅡⅡ1、Brief Introduction :In corn fields, amounts of strange patterns appeared in a night, just like varieties of simple or complex circles, which were called “Cr op Circles”. Since the 17th century, people had been searching for the origin of the crop circles.2、Five perspectives about the origin of crop circles:(1)、Magnetic Field: some specialists believed that there was a kind of moving magnetic force, which could make a streak of electric current. The electric current could make the crops lie on the fields.(2)、Tornados: crop circles for the most part appeared in spring and summer. It was believed that the phenomenon was caused by the variable climate. And the tornados were the main reason.(3)、Aliens: the most crop circles formed in a night, and then so many people thought that the crop circles were made by the aliens.(4)、Heterodoxy: some people said that a mystical power made the crop circles, just like Bermuda Triangle. According to this, some people said that this phenomenon was a prediction that the disaster was coming.(5)、Man-made: lots of people thought that the so-called crop circles were just made by some people for a joke. Andrew, a English scientist, thought 80 % of crop circles were man-made through a research of 17 years.According to a document about World WarⅡfrom the MI5, the crop circles were made by Nazi spies for providing information to Germany army. Gradually, all kinds of viewpoints about crop circles came into being, such as wind, animal, heat, cyclone, streaks of lightning, etc.3、A book about crop circles: 《The Circles Effect and Its Mysteries》、Two movies relating to crop circles: 《Sign》、《惊兆》。

Crop Circles【

Crop Circles

Crop Circles

Crop CirclesFrom Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaA crop circle in Switzerland.A crop circle is a sizable pattern created by the flattening of a crop such as wheat, barley, rye, maize, or rapeseed. Crop circles are also referred to as crop formations, because they are not always circular in shape. While the exact date crop circles began to appear is unknown, the documented cases have substantially increased from the 1970s to current times. Twenty-six countries ended up reporting approximately ten-thousand crop circles, in the last third of the 20th century, and 90% of those were located in southern England.[1] Many of the formations appearing in that area are positioned near ancient monuments, such as Stonehenge. Formations usually are made overnight, but have also been made during the day. The most widely known method for a person or group to construct a crop formation is to tie one end of a rope to an anchor point, and the other end to a board which is used to crush the plants. More recent methods include the use of a lawn roller. Some crop formations are paid for by companies who use them as advertising.[2] Other formations are sometimes claimed by individuals or groups without any evidence to support their assertion, usually after undesirable legal repercussions become unlikely.History1678 pamphlet on the "Mowing-Devil".Certain evidence, such as the Mowing-Devil, suggest the appearance of crop circles well before the 20th century. Nevertheless, there are important differences between that story and modern crop circles. The story of the mowing devil involves the cutting of the crops following a dispute over crop harvesting and an invocation of the devil, no geometric patterns were reported. Bower and ChorleyIn 1991, self-professed pranksters Doug Bower and Dave Chorley stated that they had started the phenomenon in 1978 by making actual circles on crops with the use of simple tools.[3] After their announcement, in a demonstration the two men made a crop circle in one hour. After the reveal of the hoax, crop circle-like patterns continued to be made and became more complex. Some even came to resemble stereotypical extraterrestrials as portrayed by science fiction movies, fractals, and archaeological, religious, or mythological symbols. Among others, paranormal enthusiasts, ufologists, and anomalistic investigators have offered arousing yet hypothetical explanations that have been criticized as pseudoscientific by skeptical groups like the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry.[4][5][6][7]Art and businessAerial view of crop circle in Diessenhofen, July 2008Since the early 1990s the UK arts collective founded by artist John Lundberg, named the Circlemakers, have been creating some crop circles in the UK and around the world both as part of their art practice and for commercial clients. On the night of July 11–12, 1992, a crop-circle making competition, for a prize of several thousand UK pounds (partly funded by the Arthur Koestler Foundation), was held in Berkshire. The winning entry was produced by three Westland Helicopters engineers, using rope, PVC pipe, a trestle and a ladder. Another competitor used a small garden roller, a plank and some rope.In 2002, Discovery Channel commissioned five aeronautics and astronautics graduate students from MIT to create crop circles of their own, aiming to duplicate some of the features claimed to distinguish "real" crop circles from the known fakes such as those created by Bower and Chorley. The creation of the circle was recorded and used in the Discovery Channel documentary Crop Circles: Mysteries in the Fields.[8]Legal implicationsIn 1992 Hungarian youths Gábor Takács and Róbert Dallos, both then 17, were the first people to face legal action after creating a crop ci rcle. Takács and Dallos, of the St. Stephen Agricultural Technicum, a high school in Hungary specializing in agriculture, created a 36-meter diameter crop circle in a wheat field near Székesfehérvár, 43 miles (69 km) southwest of Budapest, on June 8, 1992. On September 3, the pair appeared on Hungarian TV and exposed the circle as a hoax, showing photos of the field before and after the circle was made. As a result, Aranykalász Co., the owners of the land, sued the youngsters for 630,000 HUF (approximately $3000 USD) in damages. The presiding judge ruled that the students were only responsible for the damage caused in the 36-meter diameter circle, amounting to about 6,000 HUF (approximately $30 USD), and that 99% of the damage to the crops was caused by the thousands of visitors who flocked to Székesfehérvár following the media's promotion of the circle. The fine was eventually paid by the TV show, as were the students' legal fees.[citation needed]In 2000, Matthew Williams became the first man in the UK to be arrested for causing criminal damage after making a crop circle near Devizes.[9]Other explanationsWeatherSome people have suggested that crop circles are the result of extraordinary meteorological phenomena. This hypothesis probably originated from a 1880 publication in Nature by investigator and amateur scientist John Rand Capron. Part of the publication reappeared in the January 2000 issue of Journal of Meteorology:[10][11]“The storms about this part of Western Surrey have been lately local and violent, and the effects produced in some instances curious. Visiting a neighbour's farm on Wednesday evening (21st), we found a field of standing wheat considerably knocked about, not as an entirety, but in patches forming, as viewed from a distance, circular spots... I could nottrace locally any circumstances accounting for the peculiar forms of the patches in thefield, nor indicating whether it was wind or rain, or both combined, which had causedthem, beyond the general evidence everywhere of heavy rainfall. They were suggestive to me of some cyclonic wind action...”ParanormalA crop circle in the form of a triskelionA 780 ft crop circle in the form of a double (six-sided) triskelion composed of 409 circles. Location: Milk Hill (England), 2001Since appearing in the media in the 1970s, crop circles have become the subject of speculation by various paranormal, ufological, and anomalistic investigators ranging from proposals that they were created by bizarre meteorological phenomena to messages fromextraterrestrials.[12][13][14][15]The location of many crop circles near ancient sites such as Stonehenge, barrows, and chalk horses has led many New Age belief systems to incorporate crop circles, speculating their existence in relation to ley lines.[12][16][17]Some New Age supporters have arbitrarily related crop circles to the Gaia hypothesis, alleging that "Gaia", the earth, is actually alive and that crop circles are messages or responses to stimuli such as global warming and human pollution. It asserts that the earth may be modeled as if a single super-organism, in that earthly components (e.g. biota, climate, temperature, sunlight, etc.) influence each other and are organized to function and develop as a whole.[18]The main criticism of alleged non-human creation of crop circles is that while evidence of these origins, besides eyewitness testimonies, is essentially absent, some are definitely known to bethe work of human pranksters and others can be adequately explained as such. There have been cases in which researchers declared crop circles to be "the real thing", only to be confronted with the people who created the circle and documented the fraud (see above).[19] In his 1997 book The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark, Carl Sagan discussed alien-based theories of crop circle formation. Sagan concluded that no empirical evidence existed to link UFOs with crop circles. [20] Many others have demonstrated how complex crop circles can be created.[21][22]Scientific American published an article by Matt Ridley,[23] who started making crop circles in northern England in 1991. He wrote about how easy it is to develop techniques using simple tools that can easily fool later observers. He reported on "expert" sources such as the Wall Street Journal who had been easily fooled and mused about why people want to believe supernatural explanations for phenomena that are not yet explained. Methods to create a crop circle are now well documented on the internet.[21]References1.^Secrets in the Fields by Freddy Silva2.^Professional crop circle creation team3.^ Crop Circle Confession; August 2002; Scientific American Magazine; by Matt Ridley4.^"Levengood’s Crop-Circle Plant Research". 1996-06./sb/show/levengoods_crop-circle_plant_research.5.^ 6.^ Levengood. What are crop circles

What are crop circles

What are crop circles?Crop circles are patterns that appear in fields. The pattern is created when certain areas of the crops are tamped down, but others are left intact. The edge is so clean that it looks like it was created with a machine. Even though the stalks are bent, they are not damaged. Most of the time, the crop continues to grow normal.Sometimes, the patterns are simple circles. In other instances, they are elaborate designs consisting of several interconnecting geometric shapes.Farmers have reported finding strange circles in their fields for centuries. The earliest mention of a crop circle dates back to 1500s. A 17th-century English woodcut shows a devilish creature making a crop circle. People who lived in the area called the creature the “mowing devil.”In an 1880 issue of the journal Nature, amateur scientist John Rand Capron reported on a formation near Guildford, Surrey, in the south of England. He described his finding as “a field of standing wheat knocked about, not as an entirety, but in patches forming, as viewed from a distance, circular spots.”He went on say, “…I could not trace locally any circumstances accounting for the peculiar forms of the patches in the field… They were suggestive to me some cyclonic wind action…”Mentions of crop circles were sporadic until the 20th century,, when circles began appearing in 1960s and 1970s in England and the Unite States. The crop circle phenomenon was first reported during modern times in 1972 when two witnesses, Arthur Shuttlewood and Bryce bond, sat on the slope of Star Hill near Warminster, England, hoping to catch a glimpse of the strange unidentified flied craft that had made this part of England a UFO Mecca for almost a decade. But what they witnessed on that moonlit night was something more extraordinary: a hundred feet away they saw an imprint take shape, a large circular area of plants that collapsed like a lady opening a fan.But the Phenomenon didn’t gain attention until 1980, when a farmer in Wiltshire County, England, discovered three circles, each about 60 feet (18 meters ) across, in his oat crops. UFO researchers and media descended on the farm, and the world first began to learn about crop circles. By the 1990s, crop circles had become something of a tourist attraction. In 1990 alone, more than 500 circles emerged in Europe. Within the next few years, there were thousands. Visitors came from around the world to see them. Some farmers even charged admission to their mysterious attractions.Crop circle designsThe stalks inside a crop circle are typically bent into what is known as a swirl pattern, and the circles may spin clockwise or counterclockwise. In patterns with several circles, one circle may spin clockwise and another counterclockwise. Even a single circle may contain two “layers”of stalks, each spinning in a different direction.Crop circles can range in size from a few inches to a few hundred feet across. Most early crop circles were simple circular designs. But after 1990, the circle became more elaborate. More complex crop patterns, called pictograms, emerged. Crops can be made to look like just about anything---smiling faces, flowers or even words. Crop circles are sometimes unique designs, but they can also be based on ancient motifs基调基本图案.Crop circle locationsMost circles are concentrated in the south of England, primarily in the counties of Hampshire and Wiltshire. Many of them have been found near Avebury and Stonehenge, two mystical sites consisting large stone monuments. But crop circles are not confined to England. They have been spotted in the united states, Canada, Australia, Japan, India and other parts of the world.Crop circles can be found in many different types of fields---wheat, corn,, oats, rice, oil-seed rape, barley, rye, tobacco---even weeds. Most circles are founded in low-lying areas close to steep hills, which may explain the wind theory of their creation.Who makes crop circles? The question of who or what is creating these crop formations is not an easy one to answer. Some people claim they are the work of UFOs. Others say they are a natural phenomenon. Still others say they elaborate hoaxes perpetrated by teams of circlemakers.UFOs and AliensWindsAircraftEarth energyHumans。

Crop circlesCrop circles, which appears regularly in the wheat field overnight with some circle shaped patterns in some wheat bent. Since seventeenth Century, the origin of the crop circles are much debated.A great number of people think that the so-called crop circles, are some people's practical joke. The British scientist Andrew drew a conclusion that 80% of them belong to man-made after his investigations and study on the crop circle for 17 years. Moreover, there are some man announced that crop circles are all they do. However, the man-made crop circles are made very roughly. In many crop circles, the bending of crop can normal grow which human couldn’t make. Moreover, circles are most formed in the evening, usually at midnight to four a.m. . They couldn't find any person, animals or mechanical’s traces near the cornfield. No one has witnessed the generating process of a circle pattern. Because of this, we countered with another vision that those are all made by the Alien. Also, somebody thinks that the crop circle is just a natural phenomenon like lightning. In ancient times, human beings also thought it is Thor electric mother do.All in all, nobody could deny the fact that the crop circles are masterpieces. The circles composed of the wonderful sights make us know that, our human beings are just a small part of the whole universes. We should be in awe of nature.。

After reading the materials and documents about crop circles, I was deeply attracted by this mysterious phenomenon. It seems to be full of endless mysteries, which not only involve the creativity of human beings on the earth, but also may touch the wisdom of extraterrestrial civilization.First of all, as a geometric pattern in wheat fields or other fields, the crop circles are full of aesthetic and mystery. These patterns are complex and precise, often requiring a high degree of mathematical and physical knowledge to design and create. The way they appear is also surprising, because most of the circles are formed at night, and there is no sign of mechanical traces or human destruction. This makes people wonder if these patterns are really created by human beings on the earth? Then, the book mentioned the connection between crop circles and UFOs. In some places, crop circles and UFOs appear almost at the same time, which makes people imagine whether there is some connection between the two? Is it UFOs that create crop circles, or are crop circles specially made by human beings on the earth to attract UFOs? Although this imagination is somewhat bizarre, it is not completely impossible. After all, in the vast universe, there are countless things that we cannot explain and imagine. Then, the book also mentioned two mainstream views on the origin of crop circles. One view is that crop circles are a kind of mark left by extraterrestrial intelligence, who hope that human beings on the earth can digest these messages with the same high intelligence. Another view is that this is a person with strange power on the earth who wants to communicate with the extraterrestrial through crop circles. Both views have their reasonable points, but lack sufficient evidence to support them. Finally, I want to say that as an unsolved mystery, crop circles are not just a simple natural phenomenon or human behavior. It is a bridge connecting the earth and extraterrestrial civilization, a source of curiosity and exploration desirefor the unknown world. Regardless of the truth of crop circles, they will always remain in our hearts as an eternal mystery. In conclusion, crop circles are a fascinating phenomenon. It not only amazes us with the creativity of human beings on the earth, but also fills us with infinite imagination and curiosity about the unknown world. I believe that with the development of technology and the deepening of human exploration of the universe, this mystery will be revealed one day.

Title: The Mystery of Crop Circles。

Crop circles, intricate patterns etched into fields of wheat or barley, have long fascinated and puzzled both scientists and the general public alike. These enigmatic formations, often resembling complex geometric shapes or even intricate pictograms, appear overnight, seemingly outof nowhere, leaving behind a trail of speculation and wonder. While some attribute them to natural phenomena or human-made hoaxes, others believe they may hold deeper, perhaps even extraterrestrial, significance. One prevailing theory regarding the origin of crop circles suggests that they are the result of natural phenomena, such as unusual weather patterns or localized whirlwinds, known as "dust devils." According to this explanation, these atmospheric anomalies create a swirling vortex of air that flattens the crops in a circular or geometric pattern, forming what we perceive as crop circles. While this theory may explain some of the simpler formations, it fails to account for the intricate designs and mathematical precision observed in many crop circles.Another explanation posits that crop circles are elaborate hoaxes perpetrated by pranksters or artists using simple tools such as planks and ropes to flatten the crops under the cover of darkness. Indeed, there have been numerous cases where individuals have come forward claiming responsibility for creating these formations. However, the sheer scale and complexity of some crop circles challenge the feasibility of such human-made explanations. Additionally, many crop circles exhibit characteristicsthat defy conventional methods of construction, further deepening the mystery surrounding their origin. One of the most intriguing hypotheses regarding crop circles involves the possibility of extraterrestrial involvement. Proponents of this theory argue that these formations may serve as messages or symbols left by advanced civilizations from beyond our planet. They point to the intricate mathematical patterns and encoded messagesallegedly found within some crop circles as evidence of their otherworldly origin. While this theory remains speculative and lacks empirical evidence, it continues to capture the imagination of those intrigued by the idea of contact with extraterrestrial beings. In recent years, scientific research into crop circles has shed new light on the phenomenon, offering insightsinto their formation and underlying mechanisms. Studies utilizing satellite imagery, ground-penetrating radar, and electromagnetic field measurements have provided valuable data on the physical properties of crop circles, suggesting that they may result from complex interactions between natural forces and biological systems. However, many questions remain unanswered, and the debate over the true nature of crop circles continues to spark curiosity and intrigue. In conclusion, crop circles represent a captivating mystery that defies easy explanation. Whether they are the product of natural phenomena, human ingenuity, or extraterrestrial intelligence, their intricate beauty andenigmatic presence continue to inspire awe and fascination. As scientists and researchers strive to unravel the secrets of these mysterious formations, the allure of crop circles remains undiminished, reminding us of the boundless wonders of the natural world and the universe beyond.。

In the UK farmers recall simple circles appearing on their land for generations. The British media first reported on the circles in the early 1980s. By 1990 crop circles had exploded into the public mind as the new phenomenon changed from simple circular patterns into huge and complex, geometric formations. The crop circles are a world-wide phenomenon and each year new reports come from an ever increasing number of countries. However, the main concentration of events are to be found in Southern England, many around ancient sites such as Stonehenge, Avebury and Silbury Hill (the largest manmade mound in Europe).

Corn Planting in North-South and East-West DirectionsCorn, a staple crop in many regions, requires careful attention to planting methods to ensure optimal growth and yield. In this article, we explore the differences between planting corn in a north-south direction versus an east-west direction, focusing on the impact on plant health, sunlight exposure, soil conditions, and overall productivity.North-South PlantingWhen corn is planted in a north-south direction, it aligns the rows of plants with the path of the sun. This alignment ensures that the plants receive equal sunlight exposure throughout the day, as the sun moves from east to west. This uniform exposure to sunlight is crucial for photosynthesis, the process by which plants convert light energy into chemical energy.Additionally, north-south planting helps to minimize soil erosion caused by wind and water. By aligning the rows with the direction of the prevailing winds, the plants provide a natural barrier that helps to protect the soil from erosion. This is particularly beneficial in areas prone to wind and water erosion. Moreover, north-south planting also facilitates efficient irrigation and fertilizer application. Water and nutrients can be applied uniformly along the length of the rows, ensuring that all plants receive the necessary nutrients and moisture for optimal growth.East-West PlantingOn the other hand, planting corn in an east-west direction aligns the rows perpendicular to the path of the sun. This planting method may be preferred in certain situations, such as when the landscape or terrain of the field makes north-south planting impractical.East-west planting can result in more uniform soil temperatures, as the sun's rays strike the soil more directly inthe morning and evening hours. This can be beneficial in areas where soil temperature fluctuations can significantly affect plant growth. However, this planting method may lead to uneven sunlight exposure, as the plants on the western side of the field will receive more direct sunlight in the afternoon, potentially leading to increased evaporation and soil drying. To mitigate this, additional irrigation may be required to ensure adequate moisture levels for the plants.ConclusionThe choice between north-south and east-west planting of corn depends on the specific conditions of the field and the region. North-south planting ensures uniform sunlight exposure and helps minimize soil erosion, while east-west planting may provide more uniform soil temperatures. In either case, proper irrigation, fertilization, and pest management practices are crucial for achieving optimal corn yield.

It is reported that many places where lots of crop circles took place frequently may appear UF0. Besides, the crop circles made by human being were rough and the wheat couldn’t continue to grow up any more. However, some crop circles were so perfect that it is impossible to makeby human. In addition, some people considered that crop circles were just made by human. Moreover, crop circles became tourist attractions, which promoted local economic development. Therefore, some people think crop circles were made by British government to increase the income.Besides, some people thought that crop circle was just a natural phenomenon. It was made by tornado, magnetic field or radiation. In my opinion,I believe that crop circles are made by aliens. Because some cropcircles are so perfect and amazing that we human couldn’t make in such a short time. We couldn’t make sure who made the crop circles yet, however, with the development of technology, we will find out the truth.。
