Unit5 Nelson Mandela—a modern hero(单元整体分析)一、教材内容分析本单元的中心话题是“伟人的品格、几位伟人的生平”,内容涉及Elias 的故事、Nelson Mandela的生平简介、William Tyndale的故事等,而主要内容是围绕当代英雄Mandela展开的。

教材借穷苦的黑人工人Elias的口吻,叙述发生在他身边的有关 Mandela的故事。

不采用平铺直叙的写法,虽然只反映出了Mandela的一个侧面,但读起来却更加客观真实,同时也拉近了Mandela 与学生的距离,还留给了学生更多的思考空间。

1.Warming Up部分列出了24个形容词,要求学生从中选择哪些可以用来描述伟人,引导学生思考伟人应具有的品格,开展讨论并列表说明。
