Summer is a time to enjoy a change from the school year. It is an opportunity to work on different interests or activities that you don't have much time for during the rest of the year.
We invited 2,000 readers to take our survey. We asked them what they would do during the summer and if they thought it would be too busy or kind of boring. About half (52%) of them said they kept themselves busy but still had time to relax.
Alexis said, "It seems that you are really tired after a semester's school life,so during the summer holiday you can relax, read books, go outside and swim. "
Ashlyn, who is in high school,told us, "It is a chance to relax after hard work,sleep more,see my friends more. " Ashlyn is working at a cafe in the day from Monday to Friday and then plans to hang out with friends and family at nights and on weekends.
Rosa told us one of the things she's looking forward to was "being able to drive where I want to".
But not everyone said their summers would be the right balance between being busy and relaxing. Many were worried that they'd be too bored.
How bored or busy students feel during the summer depends on how old they are. Survey-takers in their early teens (aged 13-15) were more likely to be bored. Older students want to have paid jobs to take up some of their time. About 25% of older students said they'd be too busy.
