Good morning, boys and girls. Nice to see you again. In the past week, we have meet a lot of funny stories. I know many of you have kinds of funny stories, but how to write them down? Today we would learn how to write a humor story.
Before we start, lets enjoy a short story. Now listen
carefully.
A man walks into a bar with a duck under his arm.
The bartender asks: "Hey, where did you find the pig?"
"Its not a pig, its a duck," the man answers.
To which the barman replies: "I was talking to the duck". Very typical story, right? I saw some of you laughed and others didnt. How many of you thought it was funny? Please hand up. Why you think it is funny? Yes so many reasons.
Now I want you to discuss with your partner whether you think the story you listen to is funny. Give your reasons. These words and expressions in the chart on page 23 might be useful for your discussion. Understand?
Pre-writing
OK. I saw most of you have finished. Then, think of a funny English or Chinese and tell it to your partner. While telling your stories, use expressions and some acting to help make the story as funny as you can. I would give you 5 minutes to do this. OK. Times up! So much fun in our classroom.
