Get the students to discuss the following questions with their partners:
How will you feel if your best friend tells others about your secrets?
How will you feel if you lost your favourite toy?
How will you feel if you hear something interesting?
How will you feel if you see your hero?

1. Present new words.

含有up表示“光,完”的短语:
burn up 烧光,烧尽use up 用完

order 名词顺序
例如:必须按照这个顺序。

It has to be in this order.
order用作名词还可表示“命令”,
例如:他给我的建议也是一项命令。

His advice to me was an order.
keep... in order 使……保持井然有序
例如:图书管理员的职责是使所有的书保持井然有序。

Librarians’ duties are to keep all the books in good order.

show off sth. to sb. 向某人炫耀某物
例如:没有必要炫耀。

get angry 生气get angry with sb. 生某人的气
e.g. We usually get angry with family members.
我们经常会生家人的气。

8. Neither my parents nor I think I can make a good accountant.
我的父母和我都认为我不可能成为一个好会计。

neither作代词时,可作主语或定语。

注意:neither作主语时,谓语动词多用单数形式。

e.g. Neither of us wants to go to the party. 我们全不想参加聚会。

Neither book is interesting.这些书都无趣。

neither还可用作副词,意为“也不”。

e.g. —I didn’t go to the movies.
—Me neither.
—我没去看电影。

—我也没去。

neither还可作连词,构成“neither ... nor ...”结构,意为“既不……也不……”。

当连接两个并列主语时,谓语动词要与nor 后面的名词或代词在人称和数上保持一致。

(就近原则)
e.g. Neither he nor I am right. 我和他都错了。

Neither the twins nor their young brother likes bread.
这对双胞胎和她们的弟弟都不喜欢吃面包。

9. It’s terrible for me to work without speaking all day long.
对我来说整天工作不说话真是太糟糕了。

without 为介词,后面的动词要用ing形式。

It’s + adj. + for sb. to do sth.
对某人来说做某事怎么样
e.g. I t’s im possible for us to finish the report in such short time.
对我们来说在如此短的时间完成报告是不可能的。

1) take the lead 和fall behind是一组反义词,此处正好形成对比。

2) either... or... 用于连接两个表示选择关系的名词或代词,要么……要么。
