初二英语unit4写信作文
Dear David,
I hope this letter finds you well. My name is Li Hua, and I am a 14-year-old student from China. I am currently in the second year of junior high school. I am writing to you because I have always wanted to have a pen pal from another country, and I think it would be a great opportunity to improve my English and learn about different cultures. I am very excited to share some things about myself and my life here in China with you.
First of all, let me tell you a little bit about my family. I live with my parents and my younger sister in a small apartment in Beijing, the capital city of China. My father works as an engineer, and my mother is a teacher. My sister, Li Mei, is 10 years old and is in primary school. We are a close-knit family, and we enjoy
spending time together on weekends. We often go to the park, watch movies, or have a nice meal at a restaurant.
Now, I would like to talk about my school life. I attend Beijing No. 4 Junior High School, which is one of the best schools in our city. Our school has a large campus with modern facilities, including a library, a science lab, and a sports field. We have classes from Monday to Friday, and each day we have six periods, with each period lasting 45 minutes. My favorite subjects are English and science. I find English fascinating because it allows me to communicate with people from different parts of the world. Science, on the other hand, helps me understand how things work, and I love doing experiments in the lab.
In addition to academic subjects, our school also offers various extracurricular activities. I am a member of the school’s basketball team and the English club. Being part of the basketball team is a lot of fun, and it helps me stay fit and
healthy. The English club is a great place to practice speaking English and to participate in activities such as debates, drama performances, and language games.
Let me tell you about a typical day in my life. I usually get up at 6:30 in the morning. After washing up and having breakfast, I leave for school at around 7:30. My school is about 15 minutes away from my home by bicycle. Our classes start at 8:00. We have a lunch break from 12:00 to 1:00, during which we can eat in the school canteen or bring our own lunch from home. After the last period ends at 4:00 in the afternoon, I either go to the basketball practice or attend the English club meeting. I usually get home by 6:00 in the evening. After dinner, I do my homework and review the day’s lessons. I also spend some time reading books or watching English movies before going to bed at around 10:00.
Living in Beijing is quite an experience. It is a bustling metropolis with a rich history and culture. There are so many
things to see and do here. One of my favorite places to visit is the Forbidden City, which was the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties. It is a massive complex with beautiful architecture and many historical artifacts. Another place I love is the Summer Palace, a stunning garden and palace that was used as a retreat by the imperial family. The Great Wall, of course, is another must-see. It is amazing to think about how it was built over 2,000 years ago and how it stretches for thousands of miles across northern China.
Chinese culture is very unique and interesting. We have many traditional festivals, and each one has its own customs and traditions. For example, during the Spring Festival, which is also known as Chinese New Year, we have a big family reunion dinner, set off fireworks, and give red envelopes with money to children. The Mid-Autumn Festival is another important festival, where we eat mooncakes and admire the full moon. There are also many traditional arts and crafts, such as calligraphy, painting, and paper-cutting.
In my free time, I have several hobbies that I enjoy. I love reading books, especially novels and science fiction. Some of my favorite authors are J.K. Rowling and Isaac Asimov. I also enjoy listening to music. I am a big fan of pop music, and I like artists such as Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. Playing the guitar is another hobby of mine. I started learning it two years ago, and I find it very relaxing and enjoyable. Sometimes, I even try to write my own songs.
I am very curious about your life in the United States. What is your school like? What are your favorite subjects and activities? How do you spend your weekends? I would love to hear about your family, friends, and any interesting places in your city. Do you have any favorite books, movies, or hobbies? It would be great to learn about your culture and traditions as well.
I am looking forward to hearing from you soon. I hope we can become good friends and learn a lot from each other.
Writing letters is such a wonderful way to share our experiences and thoughts. Please feel free to ask me any questions you have about China or my life here. Let’s keep in touch and make this pen pal experience an enjoyable and enriching one.
Best wishes,
Li Hua。
