Unit 1 Have you been to an English
corner?
Module 7的主要内容为通过对英语的学习情况的讨论和对英语语言发展的介绍来复习状语从句和动词不定式。

从全书来看,本模块是对以前状语从句和动词不定式知识的归纳,具体结合学生的学习情况来展开,贴近实际情况,学生易于理解。

【知识目标】
Key vocabulary—achieve, including, speaker.
Key structures—infinitives and adverbial clauses.
【能力目标】
能听懂和阅读关于英语学习情况的对话,能通过相关词汇或图片描述自己和他人的英语学习活动;能编写关于英语学习的对话。

【情感目标】
学会倾听他人的英语学习经历,了解他人的学习过程中的快乐和苦恼;养成关心、帮助他人的良好品质。

【教学重点】
1. including的运用。

2.日常英语的使用。

【教学难点】
动词不定式和状语从句的运用。

1.课前准备:调试光盘与课件、给学生分组、为学生布置预习作业等;
2.教具学具:光盘、大卡片等。

Step1. Words
1.Let students have a discussion on English learning,
How do you learn English?
What are your problems in learning English?
What do you think are the good ways to learn English?
2.Teach the new words and phrases through pictures.
3.Teacher ask questions to students and students answer them with the new words and phrases to enhance their own memory.
4.Show the Chinese meanings to let student answer English correspondents.
5.Encourage students to make up English sentences in the given sentence patterns.
Step2. Learning
1. Listen to the material and let students choose the correct options for the questions about the details.
2. Listen again and decide which of Betty and Lingling might agree with the following.
3. Let students talk to each other about their English learning experience.
Have you ever been to an English corner? How do you feel? Can it help you to improve your English?
4. Complete the sentences with the correct form of the words in the box.
5.Teach the sentence patterns used in the daily life.

Step3. Language points
1. achieve v. 达到;取得通常表示“实现梦想, 获得成功”等。

拓展:
achievement是achieve的名词形式, 意为“成就;业绩;实现;成功”, 当它意为“成就;业绩”时是可数名词, 当它意为“实现;成功”时是不可数名词。

achieve, earn, get, win这组词的共同意思是“取得; 获得”。

其区别是:
achieve指克服困难之后而获得;
earn指通过努力而获得;
get是常用词,可指主动争取,也可指被动接受,有时不一定需要很大努力就能获得;
win指在竞争、比赛、争论或战斗中击败对手而赢得胜利, 可以通过努力获得, 也可以偶然获得。

2. enough adv. 充足地,足够地
enough用作副词修饰形容词、副词或动词,位于所修饰词之后。

enough用作形容词在句中可作定语或表语。

作定语时,它的位置较灵活,既可放在所修饰词前,也可放在所修饰词后。

3. that 在这里是用作副词,意思是“那么,那样”,主要用于口语中。

4. make progress 取得进步
5. continue v. 继续;连续
6. You mean “你意思是说……?”,常用于口语中,用于核实你确实听懂了某人所说的话。

动词mean在口语中有很多搭配。

7. including prep. 包括
include v. 包括。

Step4. Homework
Now work in pairs. Talk about your progress in English, and write a conversation.
A: You’re good at English. Could you tell me how to learn English well?
B: The way to learn English well is to practice speaking it as often as possible.
