PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of rapidly and simply evaluating a
powder for forming an image without personal difference in measurement and to provide a toner for electrophotograph which is stably flowable and good in dot reproducibility evaluated by the same.
SOLUTION: A powder evaluating apparatus for forming image is provided in the step of manufacturing the toner for electrophotograph or preferably after the step of mixing an additive. In the method of evaluating the powder for forming the image, a toner
sample 7 for the electrophotograph is irradiated with a light having a wavelength of 1 to
2.5 μm; and the flowability is evaluated according to the difference of the absorbance. The toner for the electrophotograph having the good flowability is obtained by satisfying the absorbance of 0.001 to 0.1 of the value of the absorbance when irradiated with the light having the wavelength of 1,088 nm, the absorbance of 0.001 to 0.015 when irradiated with the light having the wavelength of 1,472 nm, the absorbance of 0.001 to 0.076 when the light having the wavelength of 1,670 nm is irradiated, and the absorbance of 0.1 to 1.3 when irradiated with the light having the wavelength of 2,187 nm.
