Guns in the USA
I am going to talk about my views on whether the guns should be banned in America. And I strongly hold that the guns should not be banned.I believe that guns don't kill people, people kill people, it's the people who decide to pull the trigger. Outlawing guns can't lower the crime rate for the criminals are always gonna find ways to kill people. They will buy guns from the black market that criminally sells guns regardless of the policy. That's what criminals do, they break the law. Or they can just use knives, explosives and so on.For instance, Vermont is one of the most peaceful states in the USA, with just 0.3 gun murders per 100,000 people based on FBI report in 2010 , but its gun owners are up to 42.0%. But for Washington D.C., its gun owners make up just 3.6% of its population, but it's with 16.5 gun murders per 100,000 inhabitants in 2010. The difference is huge because criminals are far less likely to commit a crime if they think that the victim could be armed.I figure that Thomas Jefferson said it best when he said, "Laws that forbid the carrying of arms /disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes /Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."The gun culture in America has a long history. It can date back to the American Revolutionary War, and find an origin also in the hunting/sporting ethos. Furthermore, The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution protects the right of individuals to keep and bear arms. It is believed that gun is more of a right than a tool. The law-abiding citizens choose guns to defend themselves. Switzerland is a gun-loving country and it has a high rate of gun ownership, However, the annual rate of homicide by guns per 100,000 population in Switzerland was 0.52, which is one of the lowest in the world. Unlike some other heavily armed nations, Switzerland’s gun ownership is deeply rooted in a sense of patriotic duty and national identity.I think gun plays an important role in American culture. It would be impossible to ban guns and expect that they would all be taken off the street. They are too prolific in America now and there's no turning back. Since gun politics works in Switzerland, so America can learn something from it. I believe that If people have a responsible, disciplined and organized introduction into shooting, there will be less risk of gun violence.。
Gun violence has become a serious issue in the United States. Every year, there are numerous shootings thatresult in the loss of innocent lives. It is a complex issue that involves many factors such as mental health, access to firearms, and cultural attitudes towards guns. One of the main reasons for gun violence in the US is the easy access to firearms. In many states, it is legal to purchase a gun without a background check or waiting period. This makes it easy for individuals who may have a historyof violence or mental illness to obtain a gun. In addition, there are many gun shows and online marketplaces where guns can be purchased without any regulation.Another factor that contributes to gun violence is the cultural attitudes towards guns in the US. Many Americans view guns as a symbol of freedom and a way to protectthemselves and their families. This has led to a strong resistance to gun control measures and a belief that owning a gun is a fundamental right. However, there are also many Americans who believe that stricter gun control measures are necessary to reduce gun violence. They argue that background checks, waiting periods, and limits on the types of guns that can be purchased can help prevent shootings.Personally, I believe that a balance needs to be struck between protecting the Second Amendment right to bear arms and ensuring public safety. This could involve measures such as background checks and waiting periods for gun purchases, as well as increased funding for mental health resources to help identify individuals who may be at risk of committing violence.

MASSACRES FAIL TO SWAY GUN NUTS AND THEIR LOBBYIБайду номын сангаасTS
More mass killings - a college campus massacre in Iowa coming within days of a rampage that killed 23 people in a Killeen, Texas, cafeteria - produce fresh craziness from organized gun nuts and lobbyists in their hire. Instead of a move to save lives with a shutdown of the gun traffic, gun-nut spokesmen have written and preached that the nation won't be safe until the population is armed and ready for instant gunplay. In a sick fantasy out of corpse-strewn movies ……
They share a belief that guns provide some level of protection against criminality and tyranny. This ranges from a feeling that it is good to have a gun around the house for selfprotection, to an active distrust of government and a belief that widespread gun ownership is protection against tyranny.
The FBI's definition of mass murder is the slaying of four or more people. There have been at least 17 such tragedies already this year where the victims were gunned down, but shootings related to drug or gang violence often get less attention thanthose perpetrated by a crazed gunman.FBI关于大规模杀人的定义是杀害4个或更多的人,今年已经至少发上了17起这样的惨剧,但是比起那些疯狂的枪手,毒品和枪支暴力相关的枪杀案通常得到的关注比较少.HuffPost combed through a variety of news sources, including Reddit's community-generated database of mass shootings, and came up with this graphic, which may be incomplete. Killing sprees that occurred in more than one location were counted, but mass shootings that unfolded over more than one day, such as the string of homicides committed by ex-cop Christopher Dorner in Los Angeles, were not.

Gun control has been a highly debated topic in the United States for many years. On one hand, there are those who believe that the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees the right to bear arms and that any attempt to regulate firearms is an infringement on that right. On the other hand, there are those who argue that stricter gun control measures are necessary to prevent mass shootings and reduce gun violence.Personally, I believe that there needs to be a balance between protecting the Second Amendment and implementing measures to ensure public safety. While I understand the argument that responsible gun owners should not be punished for the actions of a few bad actors, I also believe that there are certain types of firearms and accessories that should be more heavily regulated. For example, I don't see the need for civilians to own military-style assault riflesor high-capacity magazines. In addition to regulating certain types of firearms, I also believe that there needs to be more thorough background checks for those looking to purchase guns. This would include not only criminal background checks but also mental health evaluations. It's important to identify individuals who may be at risk of committing acts of violence before they are able to obtain a firearm.Ultimately, I think it's important to approach the issue of gun control with a willingness to listen to all sides and to consider the potential impact of any proposed measures on both gun owners and the general public.

21 guns
21 guns
Throw up your arms into the sky"-----把武器都抛向天空吧这样的句子~~表达了GREEN DAY反战的思想~另外,在美国,21响礼炮是'presidental salute',用于重大场合向在任或前任总统致敬. one 在这里有特殊含义,个人可有不同的理解,如指那一队放21礼炮的士兵21 guns乐队是于20世纪90年代早期成立的旋律重摇滚乐队,由前Thin Lizzy乐队吉他手Scott Gorham,贝斯手Leif Johanson,鼓手Mike Sturgis以及前A440乐队的主唱T ommy La Verdi组成。

Carry guns
Individuals should not be allowed to carry guns as it increases the crime and violence in the society. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. Write at least 250 words.Model Answer:In many countries, laws are quite flexible to let ordinary individuals carry firearms while in many other countries it is quite hard to get a license, even for a notable person, to own a gun. It is often said that when a state or country allows itscitizens to carry weapons, the crime and violence rates increase there and I quite agree with this statement.First, guns are meant to shot someone either to wound or kill him. Thus the very objective of a gun is to kill a person and thus this deathly weapon can only increase the crime and violence in a society. To understand how the mass ownership of guns can increase the violence in a country we can compare a country like the USA, where carrying a gun is allowed, with a country like Japan, where it is restricted. In 2014, when the United States experiencedover 18,000 gun-related homicides, Japan had only 14 and this is quite an alarming comparison that reveals how firearms ownership by mass people can increase violence in a country.Second, research indicates that owning and carrying a gun can psychologically affect our behaviours and thus people often commit crimes only because they have guns with them. Thus letting people carry guns puts others life in risk rather than ensuring safety. Accidental, psychological, and family violence gunshot wounds and death are quite high in many countries, especially where people can carryguns with them, and the only way to reduce such crime rate is to restrict the ownership of guns.In conclusion, the only reason the authority would permit someone to carry a gun is to ensure the safety of this person. However, the reality is quite contrary and allowing people to carry guns is actually letting criminals also won it. Thus there is no doubt that people in a country should not be allowed to carry firearms and restricting it would significantly decrease the crime and violence.。
