经济全球化的根本前提是全球统一大市场，没有市场经济体制的全球化，就没有生产要素国际间的自由流动，也就谈不上真正意义上的经济全球化。

然而，全球化不仅仅具有经济意义，更具有丰富深刻的政治和文化内涵，它正在全面而深刻地影响着人类的生活方式和交往方式，影响着政治组织形式，影响着文化整合方式和存在形式，故而，有人称它为"第二次工业革命"。

本文欲从世界历史进程的宏观视野初探经济全球化对人类社会的影响。

一、国界屏障弱化经济全球化的根本动力是市场经济本身的扩张属性，而现代科学技术的发展为市场经济在全球扩张、辐射提供了技术保障。

超越国界的全球性统一大市场的形成和超越地理空间的信息网络扩展，使资本、技术、信息、商品和服务跨国流动，从而促进了生产要素在全球范围内的加速流动和优化组合，极大地提高了人类社会生产的效率。

然而，传统意义上国界屏障作用对经济生产组织和国民的整合保护作用弱化，这不能不对国民的心理和安全意识等产生重大的影响和挑战，冲击千百年来形成的传统国家观念。

伴随经济全球化的演进，近几年民族主义问题的凸现表明的就是超越国界的全球化造成了对民族国家否定的趋势，从而导致一些民族国家在全球化面前的积极回应。

现在我们能够深切地体会到国籍概念的日趋模糊化，尤其是伴随着欧盟一体化进程，国界屏障作用对人口流动的限制作用越来越弱，人员、资本、商品等的自由流动，以致国界逐渐失去了意义。
