互联网是拉近了距离还是推开了距离英语作文

互联网是拉近了距离还是推开了距离英语作文全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1The internet: Bringing People Together or Driving Them Apart? In today's digital age, the internet has become an essential part of our daily lives. It has revolutionized the way we communicate, work, shop, and even socialize. With just a click of a button, we can connect with people from all over the world, sharing ideas, information, and experiences. But amidst all the convenience and connectivity that the internet provides, the question arises: has it truly brought people together or pushed them further apart? On one hand, the internet has undoubtedly made the world a smaller place. With social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, we can easily stay in touch with friends and family, no matter where they are. We can share photos, videos, and updates with just a few taps on our screens, allowing us to feel closer to our loved ones even when they are miles away. In addition, the internet has opened up a world of knowledgeand information, enabling us to learn about different cultures, traditions, and perspectives from around the globe. This increased awareness and understanding of diverse viewpoints can foster greater empathy and connection among people of different backgrounds.Furthermore, the internet has empowered individuals to connect with like-minded people and form communities based on shared interests and passions. Online forums, chat rooms, and social groups provide a platform for people to come together, support each other, and collaborate on projects and initiatives. This sense of belonging and camaraderie can be especially beneficial for individuals who may feel isolated or marginalized in their offline lives. However, the internet also has the potential to drive people apart. In the digital realm, it is easy to hide behind a screen and communicate in ways that we would never do face-to-face. This anonymity can lead to misunderstandings, conflicts, and even cyberbullying. The lack of non-verbal cues such as tone of voice and body language can make it challenging to convey emotions and intentions accurately, leading to misinterpretations and breakdowns in communication. As a result, relationships canbecome strained, and trust can be eroded, creating a sense of disconnection and alienation. Moreover, the internet has the power to create echo chambers and filter bubbles, where individuals are exposed only to information and views that align with their existing beliefs and opinions. This can reinforce biases, limit critical thinking, and hinder meaningful dialogue and understanding between people with differing perspectives. In extreme cases, this can lead to polarization, radicalization, and the spread of misinformation and fake news, further fragmenting society and undermining social cohesion. In conclusion, the internet is a double-edged sword that has the potential to both bring people together and drive them apart. While it has undoubtedly made it easier for us to connect with others and access a wealth of information, it also poses challenges in terms of communication, relationships, and social cohesion. To harness the true power of the internet as a force for connection and unity, we must be mindful of its pitfalls and actively strive to bridge divides, foster empathy, and cultivate meaningful interactions in the digital world. Only then can we truly leverage the internet as a tool for bringing people together, rather than pushing them apart.篇2The Internet: Bringing People Closer or Pushing Them Apart? In the age of technology, the Internet plays an essential role in our daily lives. It has revolutionized how we communicate, interact, and access information. With just a click of a button, we can connect with people from all corners of the world. But amidst the convenience and connectivity the Internet provides, a question arises: has it brought people closer together or pushed them apart? On one hand, the Internet has undoubtedly brought people closer together. Social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram have made it easier to stay connected with friends and family, no matter where they are. We can share photos, videos, and updates instantaneously, allowing us to be a part of each other's lives in real-time. This has made it easier to maintain relationships and foster new ones, even across great distances.Furthermore, the Internet has opened up a world of information and knowledge to us. With search engines like Google, we can access a vast array of resources on any topic imaginable. This has democratized knowledge, allowing us to learn and grow in ways that were previously impossible. We canconnect with experts, participate in online courses, and explore new ideas and perspectives from the comfort of our own homes. However, despite these positive aspects, the Internet has also been criticized for pushing people apart. The rise of social media has led to a phenomenon known as "digital isolation," where individuals prioritize their online connections over real-life interactions. People spend hours scrolling through their news feeds, comparing themselves to others, and seeking validation through likes and comments. This can lead to feelings of loneliness, inadequacy, and disconnection from the world around us.Moreover, the Internet has also facilitated the spread of misinformation, fake news, and online harassment. With the anonymity the Internet provides, people feel emboldened to say things they would never say in person. This can lead to polarized views, echo chambers, and a breakdown of civil discourse. Instead of bringing people together, the Internet can sometimes create echo chambers where individuals only interact withlike-minded people, leading to further division and polarization. In conclusion, the Internet is a double-edged sword when it comes to bringing people closer together or pushing them apart. While it has the potential to connect us in ways that werepreviously unimaginable, it also has its drawbacks in terms of digital isolation, misinformation, and polarization. It is up to us as individuals to use the Internet responsibly, to prioritize real-life connections, and to seek out diverse perspectives in order to truly bridge the gap between us. Ultimately, whether the Internet brings us closer together or pushes us apart is a choice we each have to make.篇3The internet has become an integral part of our lives, changing the way we communicate, work, and interact with others. One of the biggest debates surrounding the internet is whether it brings people closer together or drives them further apart. In this essay, I will explore both sides of the argument and provide my perspective on whether the internet is narrowing or widening the distance between individuals. On one hand, the internet has undoubtedly made it easier for people to connect with each other, regardless of their physical location. Social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram allow individuals to stay in touch with friends and family members, share updates about their lives, and engage in conversations with people from around the world. Additionally, video conferencing tools like Skype and Zoommake it possible for people to have face-to-face interactions with others, even if they are thousands of miles apart. This has made it easier for people to maintain relationships with loved ones who may live far away, reducing the sense of distance between individuals.Furthermore, the internet has opened up new opportunities for collaboration and communication. Online forums and discussion boards allow individuals with similar interests to connect and exchange ideas, while online learning platforms enable people to access educational resources and courses from anywhere in the world. This has led to the creation of online communities that bring together individuals with shared interests, hobbies, and goals, breaking down barriers and connecting people who may have never met in person. However, despite the many benefits of the internet in bringing people together, there are also arguments to be made for how it can push individuals further apart. One of the biggest concerns is the impact of social media on interpersonal relationships. Studies have shown that excessive use of social media can lead to feelings of loneliness and isolation, as individuals compare their lives to others and feel inadequate as a result. Furthermore, the ease of communication through digitalchannels can sometimes lead to misunderstandings and miscommunications, as tone and body language are lost intext-based conversations. This can create distance between individuals and strain relationships, rather than bringing them closer together.Additionally, the internet has also been criticized for its role in spreading misinformation and polarizing individuals. The rise of fake news and echo chambers on social media platforms has made it easier for individuals to seek out information that aligns with their beliefs, leading to the reinforcement of existing biases and the creation of echo chambers where like-minded individuals only engage with others who share their views. This can drive people further apart and make it harder to have civil conversations and debates with those who hold different opinions. In conclusion, while the internet has the potential to bring people closer together, it also has the power to push them further apart. It all depends on how individuals choose to use these tools and platforms, and whether they are able to leverage them to foster genuine connections and relationships. By being mindful of our online interactions, seeking out diverse perspectives, and prioritizing meaningful connections, we canensure that the internet serves as a force for unity and understanding, rather than division and distance. Ultimately, whether the internet brings people closer together or drives them further apart is up to us.。

Does the Internet Keep People Closer or More Distant from Each Other

Does the Internet Keep People Closer or More Distant from Each Other

Does the Internet Keep People Closer or More Distant from Each Other? It cannot be denied that the internet plays more and more important role in our society. However, there are some people think that the internet keeps people closer, on the other side, some insist that it makes people distant. I think it is too early to draw conclusions. On the one hand, it really help us a lot, no matter in our life or our work. We use the internet to talk business problems and solutions; also, we can search correct and content-rich answers when we are confused. Via on-line communication, we meet many friends who share the same ambitious and interests. Beyond that, as students or the people who work far away from home, we can use the way of video conversations throw the internet to connect our families conveniently. But on the other hand, there are too rich information and too many cluttered websites on the internet. Let alone children, sometimes the auld may also lost themselves on the internet, so it make people more and more addicted in the individuals and fantasy world. With that said, the internet indeed keeps people distant. So there is no absolute answer about this question, the key is how we treat it.。

Lesson 1 avatarsThe avatar you choose says a lot about you.The article will help you understand your choice of avatars better. When you are online, you can be anyone or anything. You can create your own image and a new personality. These digital identities, known as avatars, are a key part of how people use the Internet to communicate and express themselves. The first simple 2D avatars appeared in role-playing computer games in the 1980s.Yet,very few people knew that future avatars would have such a wide variety of forms and uses.By the late 1990s,they had been used in web chats like instant messenger. When people started creating their own avatars, they discovered that they were going to have the power to create new identities that did not look or act like their real selves at all. They could dress their avatars in fancy clothes,or they could try being someone of the opposite sex,and call themselves "Andy" instead of"Anna"! When Internet users realised that their avatars would be seen by many people, not just their friends, they started having more than one avatar:a sensible词one for work;a friendly,good-looking one for meeting people;and a silly one for having fun.Avatars let you express yourself and they give you lots of room for creativity.Of course, the avatar you choose says a lot about your personality. If your blog avatar is a picture of a cute cat, your message is "I like relaxing and having fun".Well-known cartoon characters or laughing monkeys say "I'm a really funny person".Most people create avatars that have similar features to their personalities and that look more or less like them and act like them. However, nearly all avatars are tall, young and nice-looking,so people obviously make their avatars look better than they do in real life. They also experiment with things like different hairstyles — which says a lot, perhaps, about what they want to look like.Nowadays, avatars are everywhere. In most web chats, people choose an avatar from a selection of ready-made images,or create their own images. You can also use avatars that move around and talk when you type in your message. The avatars in online worlds can talk, walk and fly around, meet people,go shopping and attend classes. The use of avatars has also caused a few concerns. Some users worry that they are spending so much time in virtual worlds that they are becoming afraid of meeting people in the real world. The use of several avatars can also be a risk,as people can use avatars to cheat others online. However, other users view avatars in a more positive light. They look forward to a time when their avatar will act like a real person and travel around bigger, more exciting virtual worlds. The Internet Harms FriendshipsWhile the Internet can bring people closer together,it can also harm friendships.Firstly, talking online is no replacement for face-to-face contact— images really cannot replace a real-life smile or hug.According to a parenting expert,Denise Daniels, communicating through a screen makes it more difficult for children to concentrate or show kindness to others. As we know, important social skills are develop ed through direct contact with other people. It is these skills that enable us to develop lifelong friendships.Secondly, the Internet can make people self-center ed — not thinking of anyone or anything but themselves. For example, instead of having proper conversations with their friends, some people are only concerned with their online popularity — How many "likes" did I get?How many followers do I have? — though we know that the number of "likes" or followers cannot compare to having long-term and rewarding friendships. In addition, a lot of the content post ed on social media is shallow or trivial.Posts about funny cat images do not necessarily help form meaningful relationships.Thirdly, online relationships may not be what they appear to be.Friendships are built on the basis of trust, and with onlinecommunication you can never be 100 percent sure that the people you are chatting to is being honest about who they are.Because of this, going online can be particularly dangerous for people who are easily influenced or too trusting. In my opinion, friends should focus more on face-to-face communication, and less on online communication. This is the best way to maintain healthy relationships.Cathy's BlogThe Internet Helps FriendshipsThe Internet can help develop friendships in many ways.Firstly, the Internet makes communication much more convenient. You can stay in touch with friends no matter where you are or what you are doing.Using a smartphone,a tablet or a computer, you can be in contact at home and also when you are on the move.Secondly, the Internet has also made communication more fun.Traditional ways of communicating, like letters and phone calls, can be limiting and take time. However, you can share photos, videos, news stories and websites with your friends online. You can give a brief response to a message with an emoji or a picture. There are so many online tools you can use to be creative!Thirdly, online communication can actually bring people closer to eachother.Nowadays, your friends are just a click away.Whenever someone needs help, friends from all over the world can immediately provide useful suggestions or information. This makes friends feel loved and cared for.To me,this is a very thought-provoking argument, as it points out the benefits of online friendships. As Eileen Kennedy-Moore,an authority on the subject, points out, online friends "fill holes real-life friends can't fill".Finally, I believe the Internet brings people close r together and makes communication with friends more convenient and interesting.Teens Talk About Books!User name:Happy HermioneAge:17My location (optional):Wuhan,ChinaAbout me:I'm a senior secondary school student and my favourite subject is English.I also enjoy history and geography, and I love exploring new places with my family. In my free time,I'm usually in the library or at the park with a good book.I've always loved to read! I think reading is just another way of exploring the unknown world. It's an exciting experience for me.That's why I believe that books about foreign cultures or imaginary worlds are the best!Favourite types of books:Fantasy and travelFavourite books:I like all the books in the Harry Potter series. However,I believe the first one is the best.In my opinion, the author did an amazing job of creating a whole new world through this book. After reading it,I wanted to find out what happened to each of the characters. I like Hermione most, because we have a lot in common. Are there other readers who also like her?Reason for joining the reading club:I think it's fun to hear about new books that other people enjoy. Is there a fantasy book that you really like? Let's share ideas.语法:1.构成:would/should (should 用于第一人称) + 动词原形2.

1The Internet has undoubtedly brought the world closer together in many ways. People can now easily connect with friends and family across the globe, find information on any topic imaginable, and even build new relationships withlike-minded individuals. However, there is a growing concern that the Internet may also be contributing to feelings of loneliness and isolation among its users. On the one hand, the Internet has the potential to connect people in ways that were previously unimaginable. Social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram allow users to stay in touch with friends and family members, no matter where they are in the world. Online forums and chat rooms provide opportunities for individuals with shared interests to come together and form communities. This sense of connection can be incredibly rewarding and can help individuals feel less alone in the world. On the other hand, the Internet also has the potential to isolate individuals and contribute to feelings of loneliness. With the rise of social media, many people now spend large amounts of time interacting with others online rather than in person. This can lead to a sense of disconnection from the real world and can make it harder for individuals to form meaningful relationships offline. In addition, the anonymity of the Internet can make it easier for people to hide behind a screen and avoid authentic, vulnerable interactions with others.Research has shown that excessive use of the Internet can have negative effects on mental health, including feelings of loneliness and isolation. A study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine found that individuals who spent more time on social media reported higher levels of perceived social isolation. Another study published in the Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology found that limiting social media use to 30 minutes a day can significantly reduce feelings of loneliness and depression. It is clear that the Internet can be both a source of connection and a source of loneliness for its users. In order to maximize the positive aspects of online communication while minimizing the negative effects, it is important for individuals tobe mindful of their Internet use and to seek out opportunities for real-world connections. This may involve setting limits on screen time, prioritizing face-to-face interactions, and being mindful of the ways in which online interactions can impact mental health. In conclusion, the Internet is a powerful tool that has the potential to connect people in meaningful ways. However, it is also important to recognize the ways in which excessive use of the Internet can contribute to feelings of loneliness and isolation. By being mindful of our online interactions and cultivating meaningful relationships offline, we can harness the positive power of the Internet while avoiding its potential pitfalls.篇2The internet is a powerful tool that has greatly impacted how we connect with one another. On one hand, it has drastically increased our ability to communicate with people from all over the world and stay connected with friends and family. On the other hand, some argue that it has also led to increased feelings of loneliness and isolation. So, is the internet connecting us or making us lonely? There is no denying the fact that the internet has revolutionized the way we communicate. Social media platforms, messaging apps, and video calls have made it easier than ever to stay in touch with loved ones, no matter where they are in the world. Long-distance relationships have become more manageable, and friendships can be maintained with just a few clicks.Additionally, the internet has also opened up a world of opportunities for meeting new people and forming connections. Online forums, social networking sites, and dating apps have made it easier to find like-minded individuals and build relationships based on shared interests and values. People who may have felt isolated in their offline communities now have the chance to connect with others who understand and support them. However, despite the many benefits of the internet in connecting people, there are also drawbacks that cannot be ignored. The rise of social media has created a culture of comparison and competition, where individuals feel pressured to present a curated version of themselves online. This can lead to feelings of inadequacy and loneliness as people compare their lives to others and feel like they don't measure up.Furthermore, the internet has also been blamed for reducing face-to-face interactions and creating a barrier to true humanconnection. Instead of engaging in meaningful conversations with friends and family, many people now prefer to communicate through text messages or social media posts. This can lead to a sense of disconnection and loneliness, as genuine emotional connections are not fully formed. In conclusion, the internet is a powerful tool that has the potential to both connect people and make them feel lonely. It is up to each individual to use the internet in a way that fosters real connections and relationships, rather than relying on it as a substitute for meaningful human interaction. By being mindful of how we use the internet and taking steps to prioritizeface-to-face communication, we can ensure that it brings us closer together rather than driving us apart.篇3The Internet: Connecting People or Leading to Loneliness? In today's digital age, the Internet has become an integral part of our daily lives, transforming the way we communicate, work, and socialize. With just a few clicks, we can connect with people from all over the world, access vast amounts of information, and engage in online communities. However, as our reliance on the Internet grows, a debate has emerged regardingwhether it is truly connecting people or actually leading to increased feelings of loneliness and isolation. On one hand, the Internet has undoubtedly revolutionized the way we connect with others. Social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram allow us to stay in touch with friends and family members, share updates about our lives, and discover new interests and communities. Through online forums and chat rooms, we can connect with like-minded individuals who share our passions and experiences, forming valuable relationships that transcend geographical boundaries.Furthermore, the Internet has made it easier for us to stay connected with loved ones who are far away. Video calling services such as Skype and Zoom enable us to have face-to-face conversations with friends and relatives in different countries, fostering a sense of closeness and intimacy that would not have been possible without technology. In this way, the Internet acts as a powerful tool for maintaining and strengthening our social connections, enabling us to stay connected with the people who matter most to us.However, on the other hand, critics argue that the Internet can actually contribute to feelings of loneliness and isolation. The rise of social media has led to a culture of comparison andvalidation-seeking, where individuals are constantly seeking approval and recognition from others through likes, comments, and shares. This can lead to feelings of inadequacy and loneliness, as people may compare their lives to the curated and filtered versions of reality presented on social media, leading to a sense of disconnection and alienation from others. Moreover, the Internet can also facilitate negative behaviors such as cyberbullying, online harassment, and trolling, which can have a detrimental impact on individuals' mental health and well-being. The anonymity and distance provided by the Internet can embolden individuals to engage in hurtful and harmful behavior towards others, leading to feelings of fear, anxiety, and loneliness among victims of such online abuse. In addition, the rise of remote work and digital communication has led to a decrease in face-to-face interactions and physical connections with others. While the convenience of working from home and communicating online has its benefits, it can also lead to feelings of isolation and disconnection from colleagues, friends, and the broader community. Without the social cues and nonverbal communication that are present in face-to-face interactions, it can be difficult to establish genuine connections and build meaningful relationships with others. In conclusion, the Internet is a powerful tool that has the potential to both connect people and contribute to feelings of loneliness and isolation. It is important for individuals to be mindful of their online behaviors and usage, to seek out meaningful connections and relationships, and to take breaks from technology when needed to foster real-life connections and experiences. By striking a balance between online and offline interactions, we can harness the positive aspects of the Internet while mitigating its potential negative impacts on our social connections and well-being. Ultimately, the Internet can be a force for good in connecting people and fostering relationships, but it is up to us to use it responsibly and consciously to cultivate meaningful and fulfilling connections with others.。

互联网让人们更亲近还是更疏远英语作文

互联网让人们更亲近还是更疏远英语作文

互联网让人们更亲近还是更疏远英语作文The internet has become an integral part of our daily lives, revolutionizing the way we communicate, access information, and interact with the world around us. While the internet has undoubtedly brought us closer together in many ways, it has also raised concerns about its impact on our social relationships and interpersonal connections. One of the primary ways the internet has brought people closer is through the ease of communication. With the advent of social media platforms, instant messaging, and video conferencing, it has become easier than ever to stay in touch with friends, family, and loved ones, regardless of geographical distance. These tools allow us to share our thoughts, experiences, and moments with our social circles, fostering a sense of connection and community. Additionally, the internet has facilitated the formation of online communities, where individuals with shared interests or experiences can come together, support one another, and form meaningful relationships.Furthermore, the internet has provided access to a wealth of information and resources, allowing people to learn about different cultures, ideas, and perspectives. This exposure to diverse viewpointsand experiences can broaden our understanding of the world and promote greater empathy and appreciation for others. Online education platforms, for instance, have made it possible for individuals to acquire knowledge and skills from the comfort of their own homes, breaking down geographical barriers and democratizing access to education. However, the internet has also been accused of contributing to a sense of social isolation and disconnection. The constant bombardment of information, the pressure to maintain a curated online presence, and the ease of digital interactions can lead to a decrease in face-to-face interactions and a diminished sense of real-world connection. Studies have shown that excessive social media use can be associated with increased feelings of loneliness, depression, and anxiety, as individuals may feel that their online interactions are not a substitute for genuine human connection. Moreover, the anonymity and lack of physical presence in online interactions can foster a sense of disconnection and dehumanization. The ability to hide behind a screen can encourage people to engage in behaviors or express opinions that they might not feel comfortable doing in a face-to-face setting, leading to a breakdown in social norms and empathy. This can contribute to the spread of cyberbullying, hate speech, and other forms of online toxicity, which can further erode the sense of community and belonging. In addition, the constant availability of digital devices and the temptation to stay connected can lead to a phenomenon known as "phubbing," where individuals neglect their immediate social interactions in favor of their digital devices. This can create a sense of disconnection and alienation, as people may feel ignored or devalued by their peers.Despite these challenges, it is important to recognize that the internet is a tool, and its impact on our social relationships ultimately depends on how we choose to use it. By striking a balance between online and offline interactions, fostering genuine connections, and being mindful of our digital habits, we can harness the benefits of the internet while mitigating its potential drawbacks. In conclusion, the internet's impact on our social relationships is a complex and multifaceted issue. While it has undoubtedly brought people closer in many ways, it has also contributed to a sense of disconnection and isolation. As we navigate this digital landscape, it is essential to be mindful of our online behaviors, prioritize face-to-face interactions, and cultivate a healthy balance between our digital and physical worlds. By doing so, we can leverage the power of the internet to enhance our social connections and foster a more connected and empathetic global community.。

社交媒体拉进人与人之间的距离英语作文

社交媒体拉进人与人之间的距离英语作文

社交媒体拉进人与人之间的距离英语作文全文共5篇示例,供读者参考篇1Title: How Social Media Brings People Closer TogetherHi there! My name is Emma and I'm 10 years old. Today, I want to talk to you about how social media helps bring people closer, even if they live far apart. You see, in the past, if you wanted to keep in touch with someone who didn't live nearby, it was really hard. You had to write letters and wait weeks or even months for them to arrive! And if you wanted to see what your friend or family member looked like, you had to wait until they sent you a photo in the mail. It was so slow! But nowadays, thanks to social media, keeping in touch is super easy and fast! With just a few taps on your phone or computer, you can send a message that gets delivered right away. You can also share pictures and videos instantly to show what you're up to.One of the coolest things about social media is that it lets you feel really close to people, even if they're on the other side of the world. Like, my cousin Lisa lives all the way in Australia, which is literally on the opposite side of the planet from where I live! But thanks to social media, it feels like she's just down the street. We follow each other on apps like Instagram and Snapchat, so we can see what the other person is doing almost every day. She posts pictures of the beach, the rainforest, and deadly spiders (yikes!). And I share pics of the park near my house, my dog Rufus, and the snow we get in winter. We also use video chat a lot to actually talk face-to-face. Lisa shows me around her house and I give her a tour of my room. We play games together, read stories, and just goof around like normal cousins. It's awesome!Social media has also helped me make new friends that I've never met in person. There are some online groups for kids who love reading books or playing video games. By chatting with people there, I've made friends from England, India, Brazil and other cool places. We swap jokes, share tips, and just have fun hanging out online.Of course, my parents are super careful to keep me safe online. They check who I'm talking to and make sure I don't shareany private info. There are settings to control what I can and can't see or do. So I get to enjoy the fun parts of social media without any worries.Another way social media brings people together is by helping us stay updated on what's happening in our friends' and family's lives. My mom follows her college buddies from different states, so she always knows when someone gets a new job, has a baby, goes on vacation, or whatever. My grandparents can easily see all the latest pics of me, my brother and my cousins growing up.And when something big happens, like a birthday, graduation or wedding, we can quickly share the event with everyone we care about all over the world. My aunt just got married in Italy and she posted a video of the ceremony so all her friends and relatives could see it and leave congratulations, even if they couldn't actually be there. How cool is that?Social media also allows groups of people with similar interests and experiences to come together. My dad is part of an online community for people who design video games. Even though they're scattered all over, they chat daily about their work, share advice, and motivate each other. It's like having coworkers around the world! Some people worry that social media prevents us from making "real" friends or isolates us from the world. But I think it's the exact opposite! Sure, you have to be careful about things like cyber-bullying and spending too much time staring at screens. But overall, social media helps us feel closer to the people we care about and lets us make new friends we might never have met otherwise.I mean, just think about it - a few years ago, if you wanted to find people who liked the exact same video game, book series or anything else as you, it would be almost impossible unless you got really lucky. But now, you can instantly connect with people who share your niche interests no matter where they live! How cool is that?So in my opinion, social media is an awesome tool that brings the whole world closer together. As long as you use it safely and don't spend too much time on it, it can only bring more friendship, more laughter, and more wonderful moments into your life. What's not to love about that?篇2Hi everyone! Today I want to talk about social media and how it brings people closer together. Social media is really cool and fun to use! These days, almost all of my friends and classmates have accounts on social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat. We use them every day to post pictures, videos, jokes and to chat with each other. It's such an easy way to keep in touch and know what's going on in each other's lives.I remember when I first got my account, I was so excited to connect with all my friends online. It was like having this big group chat where we could all talk at the same time! I could comment on my best friend's photo from her family vacation, and she could like the silly video I posted of my dog chasing its tail. We never had to feel left out of anything because social media let us share all the fun moments, even if we couldn't be together in person.Social media has also helped me make new friends that I probably wouldn't have met otherwise. Like, there's this kid from another school who has the same obsession with dinosaurs as me. We became friends because we're both part of this dinosaur fan group on Facebook. How cool is that? We can geek out over paleontology facts, discuss our favorite dinosaurs, andencourage each other's dino drawings and collections. I'm so glad the internet could connect me with people who have the same niche interests as me.It's not just for fun and games though. Social media can be really useful for schoolwork too! A lot of times, my classmates and I use group chats to help each other with assignments we don't understand. We can share files, screenshots, and links back and forth. If someone is sick and misses class, no problem - they can just ask the group what homework we got. Teamwork is so much easier now thanks to social media.I also follow a lot of educational accounts and pages related to my hobbies and favorite subjects. I get to learn so many fascinating new facts about history, science, books and more from the posts they share. My parents are happy that I'm learning outside of the classroom too. Who knew social media could be educational?Of course, you have to be smart and safe when using social media. My parents taught me important lessons - don't talk to strangers online, think before you post something, and know how to keep my personal information private. As long as I follow those rules, social media is a pretty great place.Another awesome thing about social media is how it brings families and relatives together, even if they live far apart. My grandparents actually live in a different country, but we use video calling apps to stay close and catch up often. They get to see me grow up and I get to see them, which is so special. On their birthdays and holidays, we can easily send them photos and messages to celebrate from miles away. Technology is amazing!Social media has also allowed people to raise awareness and unite over important causes that matter to them. I've seen my teenage cousins get involved in environmental activism and start their own fundraisers for animal shelters by using platforms like Twitter and Instagram. They're able to share information with so many people globally. Even kids can make a positive difference in the world now!At the end of the day, social media is all about connecting people who might never have crossed paths otherwise. Whether you're catching up with an old friend, meeting someone who shares your niche hobby, getting help with schoolwork, or being inspired by a good cause - it's bringing humans together in a way that wasn't possible before. Sure, it has some downsides if you aren't careful, but used properly, social media is an incredible tool. For me, it's hard to even imagine life without social media anymore. Thanks to these apps and platforms, I've been able to grow relationships with my loved ones near and far, discover new interests, get support篇3Hi there! I'll try my best to write an essay on "Social Media Brings People Closer Together" in a tone that might be used by an elementary school student. Here it goes:Social Media Brings People Closer TogetherDid you know that social media can actually help us become closer friends with people? It's true! Let me tell you all about it.Social media is like having a great big chat room where you can talk to your friends and family anytime you want! Apps like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat allow you to send messages, photos, videos and all kinds of fun stuff back and forth. It's a super convenient way to stay in touch. For example, let's say your cousin lives on the other side of the country. With social media, you can message them whenever you miss them or just want to say hi. You can share pictures of your latest art project or tell them about the funny thing yourdog did yesterday. It's like they're right there with you even though they're miles away!Social media also helps you make new friends who have the same interests as you. Maybe you really love science and want to meet other kids who geek out over cool experiments. You can join an online group for science lovers and instantly connect with people from all around the world who share your passion. How neat is that?Of course, you have to be smart and safe when using social media. Don't share personal information or chat with strangers unless a trusted adult says it's okay. As long as you follow the rules, social media can bring you closer to your loved ones and help you make brand new friends too!Remember that time your grandma missed your birthday because she was visiting relatives? You were probably pretty sad. But with social media, she could have videochatted with you from anywhere to see your face on your special day. How awesome is technology these days? The best part is that social media makes it easy to nurture your relationships no matter how far apart you might be. You can laugh over an funny meme your best friend sends, cheer your cousin on at their karate tournament through live video, orjust let your family know you're thinking about them. In a world full of busy schedules, it's the little things like that which bring people together.Whether you're an outgoing social butterfly or a shy homebody, social media can help you form strong bonds with people near and far. All you need is your phone or computer and an internet connection to join the global community. So the next time you're on your apps, remember that you're not just tapping away at a screen - you're reaching out and connecting with the people who matter most.

The Internet: Bringing Us All TogetherHi there! My name is Timmy and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to tell you all about the internet and how it helps bring people closer together. The internet is super cool and lots of fun, but it's also really useful for keeping in touch with friends and family.I have relatives who live far away, like my grandparents in Florida and my cousins in California. Before we had the internet, we could only talk to them on the phone or by sending letters and pictures through the mail. That was okay, but it wasn't as good as being able to see and hear them in real time. Now with video calling apps like FaceTime and Zoom, I can actually see my grandparents' faces and watch them make silly faces at me! We can chat, tell jokes, and it almost feels like they are right there in the room with me. My little sister and I even read bedtime stories to them over video sometimes. It's awesome! The internet also lets me stay super close with my friends from school, even when we aren't in the classroom together. We have a group chat where we can share memes, talk about our favorite games and YouTubers, and plan fun activities. If I'mfeeling sad or having a bad day, they are right there to cheer me up with kind words and corny jokes. My best friend Jacob and I also use the internet to play online games together for hours - we make an awesome team! Even though he lives across town, the internet makes it feel like he lives right next door.Speaking of games, the internet connects me to millions of other kids around the world who love the same games and shows that I do. There are huge online communities for all the best games these days where people share tips, make new friends, and just geek out together. From Roblox to Minecraft to Fortnite, I'm part of a massive family of gamers globally. We don't let distance keep us apart! The internet doesn't only bring kids together though. It lets my whole family stay connected and make new connections too. We have a big family group chat with my parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins all around the country. We share major updates, birthday wishes, family photos, and just random funny stuff throughout the day. It's awesome to hear from everyone so regularly and feel that family bond even though we're scattered all over. My mom has even made new friends through online mom groups and mommy blogs. She gets advice, shares stories, and has made some real connections with other moms around the world. My dad is also really into researching our family tree and genealogy. Using ancestry websites and DNA testing, he has found relatives we never knew about before who live in other countries! Just a few years ago, we didn't know those branches of our family existed. But now we've connected with second cousins in Ireland, distant aunts and uncles in Italy, and we're all sharing family stories, photos, and celebrating the newly discovered links between us all. The internet literally reconnected people across oceans after centuries apart. How cool is that?In school, we've also started using technology to meet kids from other classrooms and other countries. Every couple weeks we video chat with another class in a different state or even another country! We learn about their cultures and traditions, and they learn about ours. We also collaborate on group projects together over video and by sharing documents online. Making friends from totally different backgrounds is really awesome and fun.I learn so much from those kids in different places, but I also learn a ton just from exploring the internet on my own. Using safe websites and educational apps, I can explore any topic I'mcurious about. I've watched videos and looked at photos to learn about dinosaurs, ancient Egypt, black holes, and more. I can read books, stories and articles on literally any subject. And for stuff I don't quite understand, there are student message boards and communities where I can ask questions and get advice from other kids. It's like having a tutor or teacher for every single topic, right at my fingertips! The internet is an endless library and classroom combined. The internet can also help spread awareness about important causes kids care about. If there's an environmental issue, kids' rights issue, or any other cause people should know more about, kids can use social media, websites, videos, and more to share information and rally support. We have a real voice and a way to connect with others who feel the same way. We can create positive change together by combining our voices and efforts online. How powerful is that?Overall, the internet is an amazing tool for bringing people from all over the world together. It takes distance and geography out of the equation, letting us learn about new cultures, make new friends, and stay close with our existing friends and families. We can collaborate, play, and share our lives instantly with just a few taps on a screen. I can't imagine life without it anymore! To me, the internet is like a magical door that opens up the entire world. With it, people my age can explore, create, connect, and make the world feel like a cozier, more close-knit place. We're all part of the same global community, united through technology. The internet is helping bring us all closer together, and I think that's pretty awesome.。

社交媒体让我们更亲近还是更疏远英语作文

社交媒体让我们更亲近还是更疏远英语作文

社交媒体让我们更亲近还是更疏远英语作文全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1Social media has become an integral part of our daily lives, allowing us to connect with friends, family, and even strangers from around the world. With the rise of platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, it's easier than ever to stay in touch with loved ones and share our lives with others. However, the question remains: does social media bring us closer together or further apart? On one hand, social media has the power to bring people together in ways that were not possible before. With just a few taps on a screen, we can reach out to friends and family members who live far away, keeping up with their lives and sharing our own experiences. This instant connection can help us feel more connected and supported, even when we're miles apart. In addition, social media allows us to meet new people and expand our social circles, creating opportunities for friendships and connections that we might not have otherwise had.On the other hand, social media can also have negative effects on our relationships and sense of community. Many studies have shown that spending too much time on social media can lead to feelings of loneliness and isolation, as we compare our lives to the curated and filtered versions of others that we see online. Additionally, the instant gratification and constant stream of information on social media can make it difficult for us to truly connect with others on a deeper level, leading to shallow and superficial relationships.Overall, it's clear that social media has the potential to both bring us closer together and drive us further apart. The key is to use these platforms mindfully and intentionally, focusing on fostering genuine connections and meaningful interactions rather than getting caught up in the endless scroll of likes and comments. By striking a balance between online and offline interactions, we can harness the power of social media to strengthen our relationships and build a more connected and supportive community.篇2The Impact of Social Media on Our RelationshipsIn recent years, social media has become a ubiquitous part of our daily lives. We use platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to connect with friends and family, share photos and updates, and stay informed about current events. While social media has the potential to bring us closer together, it also has the power to drive us apart. In this essay, I will explore the ways in which social media can either bring us closer or drive us further apart. One of the most obvious ways in which social media brings us closer together is through the ease of communication it provides. Thanks to platforms like Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp, we can now stay in touch with friends and family members who live far away. We can send messages, photos, and videos to each other in real time, making it easier than ever to maintain close relationships with loved ones across the globe. Social media also allows us to join groups and communities of like-minded individuals, enabling us to find new friends and professional connections that we might not have encountered otherwise. In addition to facilitating communication, social media also has the power to deepen existing relationships. We can share important life events, such as weddings, birthdays, andgraduations, with our friends and followers, allowing them to celebrate with us from afar. We can also use social media to offer support and encouragement to our loved ones during difficult times, making them feel less alone in their struggles. However, social media also has the potential to drive us apart. One of the major drawbacks of social media is the way in which it can create feelings of jealousy and inadequacy. When we see our friends and acquaintances posting about their perfect vacations, relationships, and careers, we may feel envious and unhappy with our own lives. This can lead to feelings of resentment and animosity, driving a wedge between us and our social media connections.Furthermore, social media can also contribute to the breakdown of in-person relationships. When we spend too much time on our phones and computers, scrolling through social media feeds and posting updates, we may neglect the people who are physically present in our lives. We may miss out on opportunities for meaningful conversations and shared experiences, leading to feelings of loneliness and isolation. In conclusion, social media has the power to bring us closer together or drive us further apart, depending on how we use it. By taking advantage of the communication and connectionopportunities that social media provides, we can strengthen our relationships and build new ones. However, we must also be mindful of the ways in which social media can negatively impact our relationships and take steps to mitigate these effects. Ultimately, it is up to us to strike a balance between our online and offline interactions in order to maintain healthy and fulfilling relationships.篇3In today's digital age, social media has become an integral part of our daily lives. It allows us to stay connected with friends and family, share our thoughts and experiences, and discover new interests and opportunities. However, there is an ongoing debate about whether social media brings us closer together or drives us further apart. On one hand, social media has the potential to bring people closer together. It allows us to stay connected with loved ones who may be far away, through instant messaging, video calls, and sharing photos and updates. In this way, social media helps us maintain relationships and strengthen our bonds with those we care about. For example, a young professional living in a different country can easily keep in touch with their family andfriends back home through social media platforms like Facebook or Instagram. Moreover, social media can also foster new relationships and connections. It allows us to meet new people who share similar interests, join online communities and groups, and participate in conversations and activities that we enjoy. This can help us expand our social network, make new friends, and broaden our perspectives. For instance, a photographer can connect with fellow photographers from around the world on platforms like Flickr or 500px, share their work, and learn from each other. On the other hand, social media can also have negative effects on our relationships and social interactions. Some argue that it promotes superficial connections, as people may focus more on curating their online personas and seeking validation through likes and comments, rather than building genuine relationships. This can lead to feelings of loneliness, inadequacy, and anxiety, as we compare ourselves to others and seek approval from virtual strangers.Furthermore, social media can also lead to isolation and alienation, as we spend more time interacting with screens rather than engaging in face-to-face communication. Research has shown that excessive use of social media can lead to feelings ofloneliness, depression, and disconnection from the real world. For example, a teenager may spend hours scrolling through Instagram, comparing themselves to influencers and feeling insecure about their own lives, instead of spending time with friends and family. In conclusion, social media has both positive and negative impacts on our relationships and social interactions. While it has the potential to bring us closer together by connecting us with loved ones and fostering new relationships, it can also drive us further apart by promoting superficial connections and isolating us from the real world. It is important for us to strike a balance in our use of social media, and prioritize building genuine relationships and engaging in meaningful interactions both online and offline. Only then can we truly benefit from the advantages of social media while avoiding its pitfalls.。

手机是否拉近了人与人之间的距离英文作文

手机是否拉近了人与人之间的距离英文作文

手机是否拉近了人与人之间的距离英文作文Mobile Phones - Do They Really Bring Us Closer?Hi there! My name is Sarah and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to talk to you about something that is a huge part of all our lives - mobile phones! Everybody has one these days, even kids my age. My parents gave me my first smartphone when I was 8 years old. At first I was super excited to finally have my own phone to play games, watch videos and message my friends. But after a while, I started to notice some weird things happening. You see, even though we can instantly talk to anyone anywhere now with our phones, it feels like we're actually more disconnected from the people right in front of us. Instead of talking and playing together like kids used to, a lot of times now my friends and I just sit around staring at our phone screens! We can message each other while sitting on the same couch, which doesn't make any sense to me. Why not just talk out loud? It's not just my friends either. I see it with my parents too. At the dinner table, instead of my mom asking my dad about his day, they're both scrolling on their phones half the time, only halfway paying attention. Or when we go on family outings, my parents spend more time taking pics and videos to post onlinethan actually experiencing the moment with me and my brother. It makes me kind of sad.Don't get me wrong, I still love having a phone and I'm definitely not saying they're all bad. Being able to video chat with my grandparents who live far away is awesome. And getting little updates and pictures from my friends and family is fun too. But I can't help feeling like sometimes phones get in the way of real life human connection and stop us from being present. At school, we had a lesson about the history of phones and communication. Way back before mobile phones, if you wanted to talk to someone you had to meet up in person or maybe write letters that took weeks to arrive. Then home phones got invented and people could call each other's houses. That was pretty neat. But mobile phones totally changed everything by making communication instant anywhere anytime. On one hand, that's really cool and useful. My dad uses his phone all the time for work, sending emails, talking to his colleagues, looking stuff up. He can be way more productive and efficient. If there's an emergency, people can call for help right away on their mobile instead of running to find a payphone or something. Mobile phones have definitely made things easier and more convenient. But on the other hand, I've noticed they can make us ruder too. Like when I'm trying to tell my parents something and they don't look up from their phones and barely listen. Or when we're at a restaurant and other people are talking loud on their phones instead of being polite. It's inconsiderate andfrustrating. Not to mention distracting - how many car accidents have happened from people texting instead of watching the road?Another thing I think about is how mobile phones affects our privacy and safety. With the internet and apps, businesses and governments can collect our personal information and data in ways my parents never experienced as kids. There are concerns about hackers stealing bank details or identities too. Then there arefrightening things like cyberbullying, predators trying to contact kids online, and inappropriate content way too accessible. My mom has all these parental controls set upbut it still worries me.So in a lot of ways, mobile phones make me feel further apart from the people right in front of me, while simultaneouslyconnecting me to the whole world. It's really two sides of the same coin! On the plus side, I can discover new things, meet people from other countries in games, and be much more independent compared to how isolated kids use to be.Onthe downside, I'm missing out on true human interaction happening before my eyes, getting Bad posture andhurty eyes from looking at screens too much, and bombarded with information overload.Ultimately though, I think mobile phones have brought us closer together more than apart. But it's definitely adouble-edged sword we have to be careful with. We should be present and balanced. Put phones away at mealtimes. Go online just for a set amount of time, not all day. Call friends verbally more instead of just texting. Make sure to still spend quality time nurturing our closest relationships face-to-face. Because phones might connect the world, but they can't connecttruly connect hearts and souls like actual quality time together can.So yeah, like with most technologies, mobile phones have amazing capabilities that improved our lives in many ways. But we've got to remember to control them instead of letting them control us! Because at the end of the day, real human interaction and experience is what really matters most.。

社交媒体拉进人与人之间的距离英语作文

社交媒体拉进人与人之间的距离英语作文

社交媒体拉进人与人之间的距离英语作文全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1Social media has become an integral part of our daily lives, connecting people from all over the world in unprecedented ways. While it has brought many benefits, such as increased communication and access to information, it has also had the unintended consequence of distancing people from one another. One of the ways in which social media has brought people closer together is through the ability to connect with friends and family members who are far away. With platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, we can easily keep in touch with loved ones and share updates about our lives in real time. This has made it easier than ever to maintain relationships across long distances.Furthermore, social media has also allowed us to connect with people who share similar interests and beliefs. Through groups and forums, we can find like-minded individuals and engage in discussions about topics that are important to us. Thishas created virtual communities that transcend geographical boundaries and have brought people together in ways that were previously impossible. However, while social media has the potential to bring people closer together, it has also had the opposite effect in many ways. One of the biggest issues is the rise of online communication at the expense of face-to-face interaction. With the convenience of messaging apps and social media platforms, many people have replaced in-person conversations with text messages and emojis. This can lead to a lack of genuine connection and understanding between individuals.Another consequence of social media is the rise of cyberbullying and online harassment. The anonymity of the internet has emboldened some individuals to engage in harmful behavior towards others, leading to feelings of isolation and alienation. This can ultimately create a divide between people and make it harder to build genuine relationships.Furthermore, the curated nature of social media profiles can create unrealistic expectations and comparisons between individuals. People often only share the highlights of their lives on social media, leading others to believe that everyone else isliving a perfect life. This can lead to feelings of inadequacy and loneliness, further distancing people from one another. In conclusion, while social media has the potential to bring people closer together, it has also had the unintended consequence of distancing individuals from one another. It is important for us to be mindful of the ways in which we use social media and to strive for genuine connections with others. By balancing online communication with face-to-face interaction and being mindful of the effects of social media on our mental health, we can work towards bridging the gap between individuals and fostering meaningful relationships.篇2With the rapid development of social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and WeChat, people are now more connected than ever before. These platforms allow individuals to communicate, share information, and stay in touch with friends and family members regardless of their physical distance. While social media has certainly made it easier for people to connect with one another, it has also raised concerns about the impact it has on the quality of human relationships. One of the most notable effects of social media on interpersonal relationships is the way in which it has blurred the lines between online and offline interactions. In the past, people relied on face-to-face contact, phone calls, and letters to communicate with one another. However, with the rise of social media, individuals can now communicate with anyone, anywhere, at any time through messaging apps, video calls, and social networking sites. While this may make it easier for people to stay in touch, it can also lead to a sense of detachment and superficiality in relationships.Another consequence of social media on interpersonal relationships is the way in which it can contribute to a sense of isolation and loneliness. While social media allows individuals to connect with others, it can also lead to a feeling of inadequacy and comparison. People often compare their lives to those of others on social media, which can result in feelings of jealousy, insecurity, and loneliness. Additionally, the constant need to portray a perfect image online can prevent people from being their authentic selves and forming genuine connections with others.Furthermore, social media can also contribute to the breakdown of traditional social norms and values. With the easeof connecting with others online, individuals may prioritize virtual interactions over face-to-face communication, leading to a decrease in the quality of relationships. Additionally, the anonymity of social media can make it easier for individuals to engage in hurtful and divisive behavior, such as cyberbullying, trolling, and spreading misinformation. This can further erode trust and mutual respect between individuals, ultimately creating barriers to meaningful connections.Despite these drawbacks, social media can also have positive effects on interpersonal relationships. For example, social media can bridge the gap between people separated by distance, allowing them to maintain connections that may otherwise be difficult to sustain. Additionally, social media can be a valuable tool for connecting with like-minded individuals, forming communities, and supporting social causes. Social media can also provide a platform for individuals to express themselves, share their experiences, and find support from others who may be going through similar situations. In conclusion, social media has undoubtedly changed the way in which people interact and form relationships. While it has brought people closer together in many ways, it has also raised concerns about the impact it has on the quality of humanconnections. As we navigate the complexities of social media, it is important to strike a balance between online and offline interactions, prioritize authentic communication, and use technology as a tool to enhance, rather than replace, meaningful relationships. By being mindful of the ways in which social media affects our relationships, we can strive to foster genuine connections and build stronger communities in an increasingly interconnected world.篇3Social media has undoubtedly brought people closer together in many ways. It has revolutionized the way we communicate, allowing us to connect with others instantaneously and regardless of physical distance. However, while social media has the potential to bring people closer together, it can also have the opposite effect. One of the main ways in which social media has brought people closer together is through the ability to stay in touch with friends and family members who are far away. In the past, communication with loved ones who lived in different cities or countries was limited to letters, phone calls, or occasional visits. Now, with social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, we can easily share updates, photos, and messageswith our friends and family members no matter where they are in the world. This has helped to bridge the gap between people who are physically separated, allowing them to maintain close relationships despite the distance.Furthermore, social media has made it easier for people to connect with others who share their interests, values, or experiences. Online communities and groups provide a platform for people to connect with like-minded individuals, engage in discussions, share resources, and offer support. This has opened up new opportunities for people to form friendships and connections with others who they may never have met otherwise. Social media has also made it easier for people to meet new friends and potential romantic partners, as dating apps and websites have become increasingly popular for meeting new people. However, despite the ways in which social media has brought people closer together, it can also contribute to a sense of distance between individuals. The use of social media can sometimes lead to a sense of disconnection in face-to-face interactions, as people may become more reliant on online communication and less comfortable engaging in real-life conversations. This can lead to feelings of loneliness andisolation, as people may prioritize their online relationships over their offline connections. Additionally, the curated nature of social media profiles can create a false sense of closeness, as people may only share the highlights of their lives and omit the more difficult or messy aspects. In addition, social media has the potential to create divisions between people, as individuals may be exposed to conflicting viewpoints, misinformation, and harmful content on these platforms. This can lead to polarization, as people may become entrenched in their own beliefs and less willing to engage with others who hold different opinions. Social media can also contribute to the spread of hate speech, online bullying, and cyber harassment, which can create barriers between individuals and prevent meaningful connections from forming. In conclusion, social media has the power to bring people closer together in many ways, by facilitating communication, fostering connections, and creating opportunities for people to meet and interact with others. However, it is important to recognize the potential drawbacks of social media and to use these platforms responsibly in order to maintain meaningful and authentic relationships with others. By being mindful of how we use social media and prioritizing face-to-face interactions, wecan ensure that these technologies bring us closer together rather than driving us apart.。

Internet Makes People More EstrangedHonorable judges, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, and my fellow debaters :Just now the proposer told us,Internet is convenient to contact others, and promotes global communications,so it makes people closer. However,if a man just puts his maj or energy, even all spare time in Internet, how can he wholeheartedly communicate wit h his friends in reality?Actually, when we are talking about being close to somebody,it does mean an emoti onally intimate relationship, which is a psychological problem. No matter how fast or c onvenient people can keep in touch with distant friends or family members, they are ju st easier to get information of other people, but the true standard to judge whether pe ople get closer or more estranged is to say, whether they can trust each other better t han before. So,does Internet help people trust each other better? Our group's answer is NO. Internet has two main characteristics. For one part,Internet is a virtual world. On the I nternet,no one knows you are a dog.Through a cold computer screen, how can we ex change ideas with others sincerely? We have to know, communication between huma n beings is based on spoken language, eye contacts,or soul exchange. No matter how wonderful Internet is,it can not replace the real world.Imagine one day when people meet each other and just say,"Did you surf the Internet today",do you think people ar e getting closer or more estranged?Internet,as a virtual world, cannot promote a heart -to-heart communication, and,as such, does harm to the trust between people. For another part,Internet is only a media of communication. What does really make people closer? It is the affection between friends,or the concern about family member s,rather than a media,Internet. If I resent someone and Internet helps me to contact hi m easily,I don't think our relationship will be closer.Furthermore, what kind of the medi as Internet is?Just as "every advantage has its disadvantages",when we enjoy the co nvenience Internet has provided us,we have to know, long time of accumulation of rel ying on this method to contact others, makes people ignore the importance of sincere communication. We are losing the precious trust between people day by day.It is the I nternet that makes people more estranged. We the people create the Internet, and Internet changes the people as well. The enor mous influences Internet has brought us,totally change our ways of life and communi cations. As for the current events, the opening of the Internet give adequate freedom f or people to say whatever they like,so it comes all sorts of network crimes, such as ch eating others for money, publishing false advertisements. The whole environment of th e Internet is full of danger,we have to take precautions against those cheaters when surfing the Internet. How can we trust others in such a dangerous condition? If the trus t between people can not be promoted by the Internet,my fellow debaters,How can y ou say Internet makes people closer?Internet is the product of the development of the time's,and all of us are so lucky to l ive in a informational society, using the Internet to contact others fast and easily. But o ur group has to remind you,my dear friends, the meeting of minds, the communicationbetween hearts and hearts, will never be completed just by a media of communication ,the Internet. So we have to state our opinion for another time,Internet does make people more e stranged.·communicating over long distances(1min 5s)However,theories about human relations told us,communications among people can be divided into two groups:informational and emotional. We can exchange different in formation in the Internet, but as to being closer or more estranged,it is the exchanges of thoughts and feelings,or we can call that, emotional communication.Internet reduce the time and space distance, but it isn't equal to shorten psychological distance betw een people.Internet can't shoulder the responsibility of emotional communications. For example,a couple get along well with each other. One day the husband was awa y for official business,so they can only communicate in the Internet. Two weeks later t he husband came back home.In which situation are the couple more closer,in reality or Internet? An email, compared to a written letter, which one does make people closer No matter how convenient the Internet is,compared to the reality,it can only make p eople more estranged.·global communication, meeting new friends(45s)However,in order to be closer, there is a precondition,or basic factor, that we have to loyally and trustfully communicate face to face.As we have mentioned above, the trust among people is the single standard to judge whether people are getting closer. So how can we build trust relationships?Eye contacts, body language,or written letters. But all these methods cannot be found in the Internet communications. As to meet new friends from the Internet,in America three-quarters of people don't k now their neighbours.Modern people are addicted to the virtual world and ignore the i mportance of their real lives.People can't even be closer with those living nearest to t hem,so how can they build trust relation with stranger in the Internet?·The strong function of the Internet can also promote emotional relationship(1 min) I have to say, interactions over the Internet are not very deep.On the contrary, the com munication in the Internet, such as QQ,MSN,are relatively shallow, lacking in the depth ,and too limited in the contents.Besides,Internet is just a media for communication. T he really things that make people closer is affection between friends.People cannot g et online all day long, and they have to go back to real ing the tools makes us c onvenient and easy to contact others, but relying the Internet will estrange the people. For example,I study abroad and chat with my parents on QQ,but compared to a war m embrace,or helping my parents do housework, which method, direct or indirect,do y ou think is closer?Besides the Internet,we can send a written letter, give a present or keep our parents company.Virtual and indirect network will only make people more e stranged.·Free dissemination of information, some search engine...(52s)But what about the essence of network? In the virtual world, people can talk whatever they like, either lies or boasting, without limits on everyone. You may say,we have government ministry and the whole public to supervise the network, but no one can deny t he essence of Internet. In a virtual and open world, information are too diversed and o verloaded for people to distinguish between truth and false. When we are cheated by strange men from the Internet, how could you say we are closer than before? Besides, many crimes have occurred through the Internet.Everyday we can see such kind of news,a girl met with her Internet friend and at last she was killed. Can you say it closes the relationship? The crimes belong to the minority indeed, but the influence i s great.Internet leads to the loss of trust day by day,how could the loss of trust close our distance?·Conditions when people cannot meet each other(47s)Attention please, here we are talking about being closer or more estranged. It needs c ompare.Internet as a convenient media, when compared to the reality, makes people more estranged.During the period of SARS,people can only contact each other or the Internet. However, when compared to a sincere embrace or shaking hands with those patients,do you still think Internet makes people closer? We agree that in a special sit uation Internet is necessary, but it cannot replace the real world. No matter how wond erful people chat with each other on the Internet, they have to go back to reality, soone r or later.Because compared to reality,Internet does make people more estranged. ·SNS(27s)SNS,which is also called social networking services, provide a virtual sociality platfor m for netizens. Here I have to state our standard for another time:The trust between h uman bejings and the needs for human relations reality. When people enjoy the virtual friendship from SNS,their needs for communication in reality will be reduced, and as such, estrange their friends in reality.Evoking Emotion:(1min 10s)Over the past years, the developments of the Internet has brought great welfare for humanity. So the opinion that Internet makes people closer seems to be deeply roote d among the people.Today our group is right in such an inferior position.Whatever we said, our warnings are treated as blames for general trend, and our advises are seen as resisting to Internet.Actually, today we are not saying NO Internet, just less surfing t he Internet, and more living in reality.Internet does make people more estranged. But that's OK.Besides Internet,There ar e still lots of methods to make people closer. The cold computer screen cannot give y ou singing of birds, smiling expressions from your friends, and you can not give your p arents a passionate embrace through the Internet. Why not just stop tying words in front of the computer, open the window, enjoy the bl ue sky,the fresh air and bright sunshine?Less surfing the Internet, the colorful world is waiting for you.Argument (2 min)I want to deepen my standard. When people lose the trust in a certain friend through surfing the Internet, they will have the feeling that, they don't need this friend, even the y don't need such kind of human relations. So here is our deeper standard:in order to judge whether people are closer or more estranged,is to say, whether their needs for human communication in reality are increased or reduced. In my first statement I mentioned the two characteristics of the Internet, and now let's talk about the three func tions of Internet. Here are my three arguments:The first argument, the great convenience Internet provides reduce the people's dep endence to reality.People can get various information around the world just sitting at home. The developments of blog,SNS make young people enjoy virtual friendship,an d reduce the needs for communication with friends in reality.People gain independen ce,but estrange their friends. The second argument, the entertainment Internet brings us reduce people's needs f or human relations in reality.People have limited time and energy.Just as what I said at the very beginning of the first statement,When people put the major energy on surf ing Internet, the importance of communication in reality must be ignored.People gain entertainment from Internet, but estrange their friends. The third argument, the easy communication Internet provides reduces the needs for friends in reality. The communicative mechanism of Internet is incomplete. It is lacking in the emotional exchanges which are expressed by body language, tones, eye conta cts,or expressions.Without emotional communications, people cannot be really close. So they just enjoy virtual happiness from the Internet, but estrange their friends in real ity.。

Does the Internet bring people closer? Why or Why not?
In my opinion, on the one hand the internet bring people closer and on the other hand, it can make us become estranged. Because of the internet, the world become the global village. We can get many things done via the internet.
Firstly, we can make friends with people from all over the world. And when I am studying in wuhan, I can make contact with my parents and my friends through qq or renren even through video chat when I miss them .In this way ,the internet bring us closer. Further more another way of how the internet brings us closer is shopping online, such as taobao, jingdong, dangdang .Several years ago I need to do some shopping in the market and face-to-face talked with the sellers. While now I can buy my clothes or books just in my dorm and talk with the sellers through ailiwangwang or qq. In this way, the internet brings us closer.
However, the internet brings us further on the other hand. Some people are addicted to the internet. They can skip the meal for days just to play games. And they don’t want to go out to make friends just through qq. After a long term they will become the person who don’t like chatting with parents and don’t want to make friends in the real world, finally their characters change and they become indifferent. In this way the internet brings us further.
All in all, the internet is a rapier. If you use it properly .it will brings
us closer and much convenience .Or it makes us become indifferent and brings us further.
So please use it properly .Let the internet becomes our right hand and serves to our life.。
