A n intrinsically safe (IS) earthing module provides the IS earth connection through the 3500 system backplane.The IS Earth Module requires a dedicated I/O module position and precludes the use of this monitor position for other 3500 System modules. T his limits a standard 19-inch rack to 13 monitor positions. F urthermore, a number of installation options are not available when internal barriers are installed in a 3500 rack.New Rack InstallationsThe same rack can contain both internal barrier and standard I/O module types without compromising the separation between hazardous and safe area field wiring.The External Termination option is not available for I/O modules with internal barriers because hazardous area approvals do not allow the useof intrinsically safe wiring within a multi-cored cable assembly.Monitors that contain Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) rack options cannot use internal barrierI/O modules since connecting a transducer to multiple I/O module inputs will compromisethe integrity of the IS system.A rack that contains any internal barrier module must have a 3500/04-01 IS Earthing Module to provide the Barrier Module IS earth connection.I/O Module PositioningInternal barrier I/O modules have an increased depth over that of standard barrier I/O modules. Consider the rack position with respect to adjacent modules to ensure that you can easily access the I/O modules during maintenance. Internal barrier I/O and IS Earthing modules can occupy any general-purpose rack position and can be adjacent to standard I/O module types without compromising the 50 mm (2 in) physical separation requirement between safe and hazardous area field wiring.Follow these guidelines when positioning I/O modules:l Group all internal barrier I/O modules in adjacent rack positions to simplify theinstallation.l Place the IS Earthing Module in a rack position that provides easy access forroutine online maintenance.l Consider the IS Earthing Module'spositioning relative to adjacent internalbarrier I/O modules and cabinetbulkheads.If you plan to install standard I/O modules or the IS Earthing Module between a pair of internal barrier I/O m odules, allow a minimum of two rack positions so that you can easily access the standard I/O or IS Earthing Module online without disturbing the adjacent I/O modules.Upgrading a 3500 RackTo upgrade a 3500 rack with standard I/O modules to a rack containing one or more internal barrier I/O modules, replace the standard I/O modules with the appropriate internal barrier modules. 基于直线加速器的特点和需求,在SXFEL 的注入器与直线加速段上选择了条带型束流位置测量系统(SBPM )作为束团位置测量工具。
该系统由SXFEL 束测团队自主研发设计,由条带探头、前端信号调理电子学与专用数字信号束流位置处理器(DBPM )组成,系统设计上借鉴上海同步辐射光源(SSRF )的同类型设备,并根据SXFEL 的特点做了进一步的优化,束流实验结果表明该系统位置测量系统分辨率好于5.7 μm@188 pC ,达到国际先进水平,满足了SXFEL 注入器和直线加速器段对束流位置测量分辨率的设计要求。

With the advantages of short wavelength, full coherence, ultra-high brightness, and ultra-short pulse, it is expected to play an important role in basic science research. Based on the characteristics of the linear accelerator, the stripline beam position monitor (SBPM) was selected as the beam position measurement tool in the injection section and the straight section. The system is mainly composed of the probe, the front-end electronics system, and the digital beam position monitor (DBPM). The design draws on the same type of device from Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF) and is further optimized according to the characteristics of SXFEL. Spiricon offers the broadest range of cameras in the market to cope with wavelengths from 13nm, extreme UV, to 3000 µm, in the long infrared. Both USB and FireWire interfaces are available for most wavelength ranges providing flexibility for either laptop or desktop computers.BeamGage®, the profiling software, comes in three versions: Standard, Professional and Enterprise. Each builds off of the next adding additional capability and flexibility needed for adapting to almost any configuration requirement.Spiricon also has the most extensive array of accessories for beam profiling. There are components for attenuating, filtering, beamsplitting, magnifying, reducing and wavelength conversion. There are components for wavelengths from the deep UV to CO2 wavelengths. Products are tested in accelerated conditions that have long term use in environments with extreme heat and cold, aggressive biofuel and ethanol blends, and extreme soil environments.Epoxy cure cycle. Full cure cycles varydepending on site conditions. Note that epoxy will not cure at temperatures below 40°F. See epoxy jar for more details.Part #’s500 Series -B501-S, B501-S-200, B501-S-220, B501-S-222, B503-S-22220, B503-S-22222 600 Series -B601-S, B601-S-200, B601-S-220, B601-S-222, B603-S-22220, B603-S-22222 700 Series -B701-S, B705-S, B751-S, B755-S, B711-S, B715-S, B761-S, B765-SSTEP 1 –POSITIONING AND LEVELING TO GRADE1.Before placing the transition sump in position, shovel a wide bed of pea-gravel (at least 2" to 3") under each transition sump to support the weight and help prevent movement / shifting during installation of piping and other components.2.Transition sump frame should be a minimum 1” above grade; depending on style of transition box, see below. The transition box should not be installed so water will collect around the lid.3.Secure/pin the transition box in place after setting position so it does not shift or move.The lid to each transition sump/cover when dry fit needs to be:B500 -Planter style -should be positioned –at least 2” above planed soil levelB600 -Walk Over -vent box –at least 1” above the finish gradeB700 –Flush Mount/ Drive over –1” from finish grade.Make sure vent box is level allowing for accurate vertical rack system.STEP 2 –UNDERGROUND PIPE PENETRATION1.When installing a transition sump, use the front wall to bring in pipes which need to align with the above ground fittings installed on the platform of the transition box. Plan the interior space so the transition from underground piping to above ground piping is smooth.2.Determine piping centerlines and mark sump walls for entry fitting locations. Plan the fittings layout so that the O.D.’s of any fitting are at least 1” away from any edge.3.Preparation of the fiberglass surface is key to a successful installation, follow fittingmanufacturers’ installation instructions. After preparing the fiberglass wall, wipe it with an acetone rag to remove any loose debris.4.Bravo secondary containment does not have a gel coat but should be abraded to expose raw fibers so the adhesive will bond properly.STEP 3 –ABOVE GROUND PIPING APPLICATION1.The above ground piping should follow the site plans and be secured per site specifications. If the Bravo rack system is being used, it will be sized for the transition sump. RS-501 is untiled with B501 and RS-503 and used with B503.2.Follow pipe manufacturers’ installation instructions to install the primary piping and/or vent lines. The long vertical pipes should not be installed until the transition sump has been secured in concrete.3.The above ground compression fittings pre-installed on the transition sump have gaskets that have been greased. The compression gaskets will need to slide over top of the vertical piping. Double check they are debris-free and grease remains on the gasket to assist with ease of installation.4.The compression nut needs to be slid down the pipe similar to the compression gasket. The compression nut needs to be secured to the compression fitting and secured by hand tightening. To torque down, use the Bravo compression nut only, take 1/2 to 1 complete turn beyond hand-tight. There is not a need to over-tighten the compression nut, compression will be achieved with the turn amount specified above.HOW TO INSTALL TRANSITION SUMPSSERIES B500, B600, B700 -SINGLEWALLSTEP 4 –FITTING INTEGRITY TEST1.Sump must be supported from the bottom, 2”-3” (2” min.) of pea-gravel.2.Before hydrostatic testing, remove debris from interior of the sump; make sure the full cure cycle hasoccurred for all adhesives.3.Fill with water to 4” above the highest penetration or side wall seam.4.Visually check all fittings at the 6 O’clock position prior to testing; follow local regulations and stateguidelines.5.Perform hydrostatic test, fill and observe all bonded areas, observe for full test observation period.6.New installation look for leaks at the sealed joint, fittings, and all edges and corners; monitor for onehour; if the change is more than a 1/8”, the integrity test has failed, and further investigation is required. STEP 5 –INSTALL DRAINAGE LINES on B600 and 700 Series1.For the PVC drainage kit to be installed onsite, B600 has two drain tubes and B700 will have 4 draintubes. Drain tubes need to extend to the pea-gravel which should be 6” to assist with water drainage.2.With the B600 series, the drain kit can also be installed to have drainage through the walkway and intothe planter. The drain line will extend flush to the curb. Pipes drain to either the sidewalk or to ground onboth sides of the transition sump. Be careful not to clog or otherwise seal the perforated PVC drain pipes with the concrete pour or other construction materials.STEP 6 –BACKFILL AND CONCRETEDo not remove square caps from rack sleeves until after concrete has been poured and firmly set.1.Prior to pouring concrete, ensure the correct about of pea-gravel is in place for the transitionsump being installed. Having adequate back fill around the transition sump and 4-6” of pea-gravel next to the sump for good drainage is important.2.The transition sump should be above finish grade so the concrete can be sloped away from thesump opening to redirect water flow.The lid to each transition sump/cover when dry fit needs to be:B500 -Planter style -should be positioned –2” above planed soil levelB600, Walk Over -vent box –1” above the finish gradeB700 –Flush Mount/ Drive over –1” from finish gradeMake sure vent box is level allowing for accurate vertical rack system.3.The forecourt or sidewalk should be a minimum of 6” or what the building code specifies. Theconcrete anchoring flange on each side of the sump will be approximately in the middle of theslab (3 ¾”).4.When installing a rack system on to the transition sump. ensure proper supports are anchored inthe concrete anchors on each side of the transition sump.STEP 7 –RACKING SYSTEM1.The Bravo rack system are the vertical supports and are 2-piece unit. When setting therack system ensure that all connecting points are securely tightened when theinstallation is complete.2.The rack system is not installed until the concrete and finish concrete work iscompleted.3.If installing a rack system into the transition sump, ensure proper support is there forthe vertical load. Each B500 has 2 concrete anchors on each side of the transitionsump to aid in securing to the rack foundation. The anchors will be located at 9 ¾” and16 ¾” on the side of the drop tube to mount the rack system.4.The concrete foundation to support the rack system will be approximately 18” x 20” x10” or what is specified by local building code.5.After concrete has set, remove square caps from rack sleeves and assemble racksystem. Drop rack into square tubing, or rack sleeves, secure, and seal off rackcross/brace and fasteners with urethane sealant.e a urethane sealant around the top edges of the joint to deter water penetration.7.Fasten to vent box. Install vertical riser pipe to appropriate height, according to localregulatory requirements. Secure pipes using pipe clamps to the rack system.ConcreteAnchorFlangeRack SystemConcreteAnchorsSTEP 8 –TROUBLE SHOOTING REPAIRLeak around a fitting (flange to wall, flange to fitting body).1.Inspect the identified leaking location; define the area to repair.2.Abrade repair location per manufacturers’ specification, this area should extend outside the identified leak by 1” on all directions.3.Remove loose dust with acetone rag leaving the repair area free of debris.4.Apply Bravo Epoxy EP100RF beveling epoxy from the wall to the installed fitting; use a rag with acetone to remove and smooth epoxy leaving a clean repair that can be inspected.5.Use the Schrader valve to apply vacuum to sump interstice; draw the epoxy into the void from the fitting installation; apply vacuum of 4”-6”Hg using Schrader valve on fitting body.6.Inspect the repaired area and over-coat with additional epoxy to ensure the vacuum level did not create a hole in the repair.7.Allow to cure under vacuum.Leak at the flange to the pipe and/or secondary pipe if the fitting.1.Follow the steps in the repair above “leak around the fitting”, except at step 6, pull vacuum from the secondary port of the fitting; ensure that the other end of the secondary pipe is closed 2.Connect the Venturi to the Schrader valve and allow vacuum to build; do not exceed the pipe manufacturers’ vacuum limits; achieve 4” –6”Hg on the secondary to assist in the repair adhesion to the fiberglass area.3.Once the full cure cycle has occurred, the repair can be tested; ensure the repair has been successful by performing a positive pressure test.HOW TO INSTALL TRANSITION SUMPSSERIES B500, B600, B700 -SINGLEWALLLIMITED WARRANTYAll containment systems sold by S. BEAM POSITION MONITOR SYSTEM FOR THE ORBIT FEEDBACK AT THE INTERACTION REGION OF KEKBMasaki Tejima,Kotaro Satoh and Makoto TobiyamaKEK,1-1Oho Tsukuba-shi,Ibaraki-ken305-0801,JapanAbstractTo maintain the optimum collision condition of the two rings,two special BPMs with8-button electrodes,called OCTPOS,were installed inside the super-conducting quadrupole magnets(QCSs)at the interaction region(IR) of KEKB.Four normal BPMs with4-button electrodes were incorporated outside the QCSs.We have commissioned the OCTPOS BPMs for simultaneous measurements of both the electron and positron beam positions from their composite signal.We have verified the separation of both beams by the finite orbit separation method.The beam positions of OCTPOS and four normal BPMs were consistent.This report describes the performance of the system as a result of operation.1INTRODUCTIONKEKB is an electron-positron collider with asymmetric energy,which consists of two rings:a high-energy ring (HER)of8-GeV and a low-energy ring(LER)of3.5-GeV. In a two-ring collier like KEKB,an orbit adjustment at the interaction point(IP)is important for maintaining stable beam collisions.In the neighborhood of IP,the two beams pass through common pipes and BPMs because both orbits are not separated sufficiently.It is impossible to measure beam signals with a very small bunch spacing of less than1nsec in the time domain by fast switch.A finite orbit separation method[1]between the two beams was proposed to detect the beam positions of each ring with a common BPM having many electrodes.To measure the beam orbits at IR by this method,two special BPMs with 8electrodes were installed at both sides of IP,as shown in Figure1.The output signal was detected with a narrow band detector,the same electronics employed for measuring of closed orbit at KEKB[2].Figure 1: Schematic view of the KEKB IR.2BPM HEADS OF OCTPOSNear IP,the orbit separation is so small that both beams pass through a common chamber and OCTPOS.For the serious space problem inside QCSs,we could not adapt such an electrode as directional couplers to measure the positions of the two beams separately.We elected to install two special BPM heads each having eight button electrodes at the front end of the QCSs around the IP. Since the OCTPOS is placed inside the inner bore of the QCS cryostat,the button electrode adopted was a SMA-type connector.In order to improve the contact of the connector,we changed the female structure of the central rod into a male one last summer,as shown in Figure2.Figure2:Button electrodes for OCTPOS.Eight button electrodes were directly welded onto a copper block with a round shape,as shown in Figure3. They were set directly at both ends of the IP chamber. The OCTPOS head was made from non-magnetic material to avoid any strong force of a magnetic field due to theFigure 3: Sections of the OCTPOS head.7493NORMAL BPM HEADS FOR IRFour normal BPMs with 4electrodes at the exit of the QCS were also incorporated into this IR BPM system to back up the OCTPOS BPMs.These BPM heads were made of aluminum alloy,and were attached to four button electrodes with an N-type connector by a flange.The BPM head has a double pipe structure,as shown in Figure 4.These BPM chambers were assembled as a QCSL chamber or a QCSR chamber,which were attached to the next chamber by a flange.These BPMs were not supported firmly at the end of a magnet;as a result,heating up of the vacuum chamber caused a mechanical movement of the BPMs.Two displacement sensors measured these movements,which fluctuate depending on the intensity of the stored beam,as shown in Figure 5.At present,these movements are compensated in the beamFigure 4:Sections of BPM heads at exit of QCS signals of OCTPOS are read out by the same electronics employed in the closed orbit BPM system --that is,a multiplexer and a signal processor module [2].An IOC for OCTPOS has been distributed especially to operate as a collisionfeedback system at the IP.The signal processor detects the combined output signal of both beams,and the pickup frequency is 1018MHz,twice the accelerating RF frequency.The signal processor for the OCTPOS BPMs perform a FFT analysis of the signals at 64sampling points,and an average of 16measurements are ultimately processed by the IOC controller.Figure beams;(Qe,X e ,Y e ),(Q p ,X p ,Y p )are the charge and position for positron and electron beams.In advance,the gains were calibrated with a beam under the condition of single-beam operation (a electron or positron beam).The response function was calculated from the BPM geometry.The phase difference was defined to be constant and can be calculated from the distance between the OCTPOS and the IP.Therefore,when the eight parameters (Vi,i=1,2,,,8)are known,the remaining six unknown parameters can be obtained by a nonlinear fitting,because the unknown parameters (Q e ,X e ,Y e ,Q p ,X p ,Y p )are fewer than the number of measured data points (8outputs from the electrodes)[1].We applied the phase difference to a constant value,such as π/4,calculated from the designed position of the BPM.But the actual phase difference may differ from the constant value,because the OCTPOS has been installed within a tolerance of a few mm,and also the transient beam loading changes the phase of the RF cavity.Since this finite-orbit separation method is sensitive to the phase difference,simulation studies of the phase error show that the major effect causes movement of the position reading750in the horizontal direction,which it is more harmful in HER than in LER.5PERFORMANCEWe have commissioned the OCTPOS BPMs for simultaneous measurements of both the electron and positron beam positions positions at OCTPOSs obtained from composite button-electrode signals induced by the electron and the positron beams.However,we must test the correlation among these separated positions of OCTPOS with some neighboring BPMs (QCSRe,QCSLe,QCSRp,QCSLp,etc.).For the analysis of the correlation by actual beam positions,we measured all beam positions under single-kick orbits at different source points.A three BPM correlation analysis based on the lattice model of the KEKB ring estimated that a difference of about 10µm exists in the positions of the OCTPOSs between the single-beam case and the two-beam case,as shown in upper and lower parts of Figure 8.By the way,the other correlation errors of IR are very large (about 0.1mm),perhaps related to the uncertainly value of the model optics.The global optical function was corrected by using OCTPOS under two-beam operation this summer [3].There is no notable difference in the result of the correction between two-beam and single-beam operation.6SUMMARYThe OCTPOS system was introduced at IR in KEKB for measurements of the crossing angle between the electron and positron beams and the beam-beam kick angle at the IP based on the beam-beam deflection technique [4].The OCTPOS system for the IR has not yet been used to optimize the collisions under two-beam operation for physics experiments,but it has been available for single-beam operation.There is a disagreement in the results of the measurement between the OCTPOS and the four normal BPMs for the backup of the OCTPOS during two-beam operation in the case ofhigh-current beam.In the case of a low current beam,such as 20mA,the OCTPOS are available for optics correction of even both beams,because the phase-difference error due to transient beam loading of the RF cavity is negligibly small.It is necessary that we still study of OCTPOS in order to enable optimization of the collision of two beams in the case of a high-current beam.Especially,we need to study the beam-current dependence of the beam positions and to exactly determine the phase deference between an electron bunch and a positron bunch.Figure 8:Correlation error at IR was calculated from
