In contemporary society, it is not difficult to find the gender imbalance existed in abundant universities. So whether universities ought to take in as many male students as female ones in every major has sparked much debate. Some people assert that it can eliminate gender discrimination in college and also offer a friendly environment which is beneficial to both physical and spiritual growth of university students while many others are having a hard time reaching consensus on it. As far as I am concerned, I am inclined to take sides with the latter. The main reason I said so is that it is unreasonable and unscientific for male and female students to be accepted in the equal number in terms of asame subject. As we all know, most of the boys have more interested in science, mathematics or engineering while girls are more willing to trend to study liberal arts. So if every major in college needs to accept the same number of different gender students, here comes the phenomenon that some subjects recruit less male students than the target number, but a considerable number of female students want to choose these subjects and the university has to refuse part of them in order to keep the so-called gender balance. Hence, it is actually not equal for each student to choose their subject.Furthermore, it is unrealistic for every subject in college to own the totally same numbers of male and female ones. New statistic indicates the fact that there are more male ones than female ones in our society. Also, according to the gender proportion of college students, the general number of male and female students is inconsistent. How could universities obtain a totally equal number of male and female students in every major? On the basis of the above factors, I hold my view more firmly. In fact, different universities should have their own characteristics. For instance, there are always many gorgeous girls walking in foreign language universities, which is their fantastic style and has no harm for students, even though the number of male and female ones there is not equal.。

The charts below show the results of a questionnaire that asked visitors to the Parkway Hotel how they rated the hotel's customer service. The same questionnaire was given to 100 guests in the years 2005 and 2010.
The pie charts compare visitors’ responses to a survey about customer service at the Parkway Hotel in 2005 and in 2010.It is clear that overall customer satisfaction increased considerably from 2005 to 2010. While most hotel guests rated customer service as satisfactory or poor in 2005, a clear majority described the hotel’s service as good or excellent in 2010.Looking at the positive responses first, in 2005 only 5% of the hotel’s visitors rated its customer service as excellent, but this figure rose to 28% in 2010. Furthermore, while only 14% of guests described customer service in the hotel as good in 2005, almost three times as many people gave this rating five years later. With regard to negative feedback, the proportion of guests who considered the hotel’s customer service to be poor fell from 21% in 2005 to only 12% in 2010. Similarly, the proportion of people who thought customer service was very poor dropped from 15% to only 4% over the 5-year period. Finally, a fall in the number of ‘satisfactory’ ratings in 2010 reflects the fact that more people gave positive responses to the survey in that year.(193 words, band 9)饼图比较了访客对2005年和2010年百汇酒店客户服务调查的回应。

In my opinion, learning a second language is beneficial for several reasons. Firstly, it broadens our horizons and allows us to communicate with people from differentcultures and backgrounds. For example, I have a friend who speaks fluent French, and because of this, she was able to work and study in France for a year. This experience not only enhanced her language skills but also gave her a deeper understanding of French culture and society.Secondly, learning a second language can improve cognitive abilities. Research has shown that bilingual individuals have better problem-solving skills and a higher level of mental flexibility. For instance, a study conducted by the University of Edinburgh found that bilingual children are more adept at switching between tasks and have a stronger ability to focus.Furthermore, being bilingual can open up more job opportunities. In today's globalized world, many companies value employees who can speak multiple languages. For instance, a multinational corporation may prefer to hire someone who can communicate with clients from different countries. This gives bilingual individuals a competitive edge in the job market.
