Describe a person you admire.Describe the famous person you admire most.Describe a person who had a positive impact on you.Describe a person who you would like to talk with.Describe a special friend in your childhood.Describe an elder person that you respect.Describe your favorite performer or musician. What are some important characteristics of a good leader?

What do you think is ONE of the most important characteristics that a good teacher should have? Include specific reasons and details in your explanation.

Some supermarkets start to charge for the use of plastic shopping bags. Talk about the advantage and disadvantage of this.Sample ResponseThere are advantages and disadvantages to the policy of charging customers for plastic bags at supermarkets. One advantage is that it limits the use of bags to those that the customers really need. People may reuse them or bring their own bags. The policy does not waste as many valuable natural resources. On the other hand, charging for bags can cause frustration. For example, if customers overpack the food to save money, delicate foods can be damaged. Therefore, supermarkets that want to charge for the use of plastic shopping bags need to consider the positive and negative aspects of the policy. The school is going to play some student-produced TV shows.

Describe a person whom you’d like to talk with often (this person could be one of your close friends, family members or teachers).

Describe a project or assignment which is important to you就是事件类的考题。

What kind of music do you like the least?

Describe your favorite area in your city.

TPO1TASK1 Talk about a book you have read that was important to you for some reason. Explain why the book was important to you. A book that is very important to me is Harry Potter.

TASK 11. PersonThe reasons you choose this person:-tolerant of others-good values-educatedIn my family, my mother has influenced me greatly because she has so many good qualities. She is very well educated and keeps an open mind. Her thinking is very modern. She is able to understand people from different generations. In addition, she is a good listener. This makes her tolerant of other people’s opinions. Her personal values set a good example for me to follow in my own life. The way she treats people and thinks makes me want to become the best person I can be. This is why I think my mother has influenced me the most in my life.2.CultureThe rudest behavior: ignoring peopleThe reason you chose the behavior-hurts people’s feelings-anti-social behavior-makes others uncomfortableThe rudest thing a person can do in our culture is to ignore someone. It cut off all communication. Ignoring someone shows selfishness and a lack of respect to others. If Iam trying to catch someone’s attention in a meeting to discuss something or in a store fro assistance, it can be very embarrassing to be ignored. It can hurt people’s feelings and make people lose self-confidence. Furthermore, it makes anyone witnessing this rude behavior uncomfortable. Overall, the rudest thing you can do is to ignore some one as it hurts everyone involved.3.EventThe event: my graduationThe reason you chose the event-special ceremony-recognized for my hard work-full of all my friends and familyMy high school graduation is the most memorable event in my life because it was such a special day. During our graduation we were each called up one at a time to the stage. We each received our diploma and everyone applauded our hard work. I even received an award for being the best math student. There was a get-together afterwards which was attended by all my friends and family. It was a memorable event because on this day I ended one part of my life and embarked on the beginning of my future.4.PetThe animal: giraffeThe reasons you chose the animal:-majestic animal-long tongue and powerful lips-awkward and goofyIf I could have a pet, I would have a giraffe. It is the most majestic animal in the world. It is tall and sleek. It bends down gracefully to pick leaves from trees using its long tongue and powerful lips. Its fur coat is the most beautiful found in the desert – a yellow background with large brown circles placed here and there. Despite its grace horns on its head and a somewhat goofy looking smile. To me the giraffe is a paradoxical animal – clumsily and awkwardly beautiful and graceful. and filmThe program: SeinfeldThe reasons you chose the program:-funny-mix of characters-everyday situationsI like to watch the TV program Seinfeld because it is a funny show about ordinary people like my friends and me. None of the characters on the show are perfect people. Each one takes a turn getting into some trouble on screen. Sometimes they help each other out while other times they just make each feel silly for their mistakes. My friends and I try to see every episode. In fact, we often talk about the most recent episode when we see each other. I can really identify with the show because the characters are so similar to my friends.6. MusicThe type of music: rock musicThe reasons you chose the music-like beat-sound of a generation-music for a better life and a better societyI like all kinds of music but if I had to choose one type of music it would be rock. It was the lively beat of change for a whole society. Moreover, one of the leaders of this change was Jimi Hendrix. When I listen to his masterful electric guitar style, I can hear the energy of his generation. The music has a soul and an appealing sound. It has inspired many people to work for a better life for themselves and for a better society around them. Rock music has soul and has stood the rest of time.7.BookThe book: the Catcher in the Rye by J. D. SalingerThe reasons you chose the book:-identified with the character-challenges of my age group-interesting point of viewWhen I read The Catcher in the Rye, By J. D. Salinger, it was already an old book, but I liked it because I identified with Holden Caulfield, the young man who was the main character. He was not always correct in his judgments about the way life was, although he had strong opinions. I liked to read about how he felt and what heunderstood. His constant wry observations about what he encounters, from teachers to phonies, capture the essence of the eternal teenage experience of alienation. In many ways, we still have the same challenges in life since the times of The Catcher in the Rye.8.SubjectThe subject: mathThe reasons you chose the subject-difficult to understand-not relevant to my life-no time to catch upMy worst subject in school was mathem atics. I didn’t understand it as well as other subjects. Furthermore, it was hard for me to see the relevant of math in my life. I just never saw the point of studying so many formulas and equations that seem so abstract.I think I could have been good in math if my teacher were to have taken more time to explain it to me. Maybe I needed a different approach to math. In as much as I was weaker in math, I was stronger in art, literature and even biology so there was balance in my subjects and in my marks.9.sportThe sport: golfThe reasons you chose the sports:-good exercise-have fun and relax-play to winI recently took up golf because I though it might be a sport that would be fun and useful. So far, I have discovered that golf requires a lot of time and a lot of walking. This, however, adds to the fun and relaxation of a round of golf. Golf has also taught me to concentrate and to take many factors into account, such as wind and slope. Although I like to play to win, even if I don’t beat my partner, I k now I have played well if I have improved my own score. I think by choosing golf I have found a good way to do business in the future as well as have fun learning it now.10.giftThe gift: music boxThe reasons you chose the gift:-sentimental-thoughtful-usefulMy favorite gift is a music box. It has a great amount of sentimental value. It was given to me as a gift for my first dance recital with my ballet class. I was only seven years old and my family planned a dinner celebration. At the table, my father presented me with a little jewelry box. When I opened it, music played and a small plastic pink ballerina burned in a mirror. My family knew how much I loved balletand understood my dream of becoming a ballet dancer. I didn’t become a ballet dance, but I still use my favorite gift because it reminds me of my parent’s thoughtfulness.11.MottoThe motto: honesty is the best policyThe reasons you chose the motto:-personal philosophy-easier to live with-overall moral goodMy motto is “honesty is the best policy” because life is easier when we tell the truth.I have felt this way ever since I read the story of Pinocchio, the little marionette whose wooden nose grew whenever he told a lie. It just seems better to deal with the truth. As a result, there are no surprises or stories that don’t match up. It also helps people treat themselves with more self-respect and in turn, others will treat them in a more dignified manner. Lying to others is lying to oneself. If everyone were honest, we would all fell better in our personal lives and in dealing at work.12.CriticismThe criticism: how I lookedThe reasons you chose this:-lazy, careless in my attitude-attracting undesirable people-but appearance did not mean everythingWhen I was in school, I was criticized because of how I looked. I had long hair of many colors – often a mix of black, blond and blue. My clothes were big and baggy; nobody saw my shoes because my pants were so long and dragged on the ground. I felt comfortable in this way. It was a way of expressing my feelings about the world around me. However, my family didn’t agree with this. They said it made me look lazy andcareless in my attitude. People thought I didn’t care about my parents either. They were worried about me and about my appearance attracting undesirable people.I know they were just trying to show their love to me. I was the top student in my class, so to me, looks and appearance didn’t mean everything.13.Embarrassing MomentThe moment: sending an email by mistakeThe reasons you chose this moment-careless moment-revealed personal information-lost people’s trustMy most embarrassing moment came when I recently sent an email careless to the wrong person. A friend revealed personal information to me in an email and asked for my advice. At first, I concentrated on answering him, but then the phone rang and I mistakenly sent it off on another friend in my address book. I sent off a friend’s confession about how he had cheated on his girlfriend, not once, but twice in the sameday. The friend who received it happed to be a good friend of the guy’s girlfriend. In this one embarrassing moment I careless revealed private details and might have lost the trust of both friends. I also revealed my stupidity and lack of care –personally very embarrassing.14.GameThe game: skippingThe reasons you chose the game:-nostalgia-group singing-regular recess activityIn the schoolyard I liked skipping as a child because everyone could be included in the same game at the same time. The older girls at school taught us all the songs. Every time we had recess we would all run out to the yard and take turns turning the rope and all the other girls would sing and jump in and out together. We were together singing songs and exercising; it was a lot of fun. As we grew up and got to be the older girls, we would teach the songs we learned. Skipping was a schoolyard activity that we could all enjoy together and pass on to younger students.15. ColorThe reasons you chose the color:-happy color-looks good on me-goes with all my outfitsIn my closet I have clothes of many colors but my favorite color is pink. Pink strikes me as such a happy color. For this reason I feel that I always look good and I feel good when I wear pink. When it is rainy in the winter, I like to wear my pink silk and wool sweater. It makes me feel so warm inside. Pink appears in separate pieces of clothing as well as in some of my accessories such as scarves, hairpins and belts. Gradually I have added pieces to my collection of clothes but they all go together with each other and with the color pink. My wardrobe is coordinated around a color that both flatters me and makes me feel good.16.IngredientThe ingredient: ground meatThe reasons you chose the ingredient-cheap and easy to buy-suit a lot of recipes-stores wellThe most useful ingredient in my fridge for cooking at home is ground meat because it is inexpensive and suitable for many recipes. It used to be called hamburger meat and was usually beef. Now, it is sold all over as ground turkey, veal, chicken or pork as well as beef. I use it to make my favorite, meatball. Sometimes I use ground meat to make a meat sauce for pasta and then there are meals when I stir fry it intovegetables and put it all on a bed of rice. I even use it in soups. It can be fried, grilled and baked in hundreds of different recipes. Meatloaf is just one of the dishes I can prepare ahead of time with ground meat to have ready for company or when I am busy. Ground meat is the most useful ingredient because it do esn’t cost a lot and cook easily for freshly made meals or to store in freezer for later use. 17. Hobby The hobby: model airplane building The reasons you chose the hobby: like to work alone and figure out the parts learn about engineering touch adventure and history I like building model airplanes as my hobby because it gives me a change of pace from my busy schedule. I have been building model airplanes since I was 10, when my father gave me one as my birthday present. It takes time and concentration to match and glue the small parts and although some people don’t have the patience to do this, I find it very relaxing. Each model teaches me about design and engineering. Sometimes I go to a club where there are others who share my interests. This hobby lets me touch a bit of history and I can imagine the adventure of the original flyers.。

But I still think it important because what is going on in this country still bear traces from the past with or without our notice, although wed like to say that we live in a new China. He is the kind of person I admire. He is decent, a man of his word, one of the very few that I regard as having a strong sense of justice. Yet he is not bound up by the rules and knows when to break them to achieve the ultimate good. And he is interesting and eloquent, all the things that I desire to have. 3I want to read biography books, because although wed love to say that the society is changing and developing, human nature never changes much.

Theperson like me hsa no choice but to do sth.

Although the rent/price is higher, it's worthwhile. Task 2:Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?Parents should be involved in the process of helping their children to choose a career.Use specific examples and details to support your opinion.A: should be involvedParents are mature & experienced same situation, advice is practicalChildren are confusedB: should not be involvedKids are individuals with own dreams, shouldn't push /forceParents situation was different ,kind of out of touch with current world托福TPO口语答案Parents are people who know their kids more than others. Since they have experienced the situation of making a career decision and are more realistic with knowledge about working &socializing in a company, the advice from them is usually practical, like they know which field is less competitive and suitable for their pure kids. Most people at the age of choosing a career are not truly clear about their future, like it's such a pain in the neck for my cousin and his classmates. Children are all individuals with their own dreams and plans for their future .they have the right todecide whether to be a doctor or a cleaner. If parents are too authoritarian and push their ideas to kids, the relationship between them will be deadlocked and even cause hurt to the teenagers. Although parents might have experience based on their situation, yet their sons or daughtes'problems are totally different. So their advice are somewhat inappropriate cuz they're kind of out of touch with current world's development.托福TPO口语答案分析建议:university should schedule construction projects to take place during the summer break1) construction projects are disruptive & they create inconveniences2) be completed quickly in summer when the weather is usually good.女同意All for it1) Woman drive, last December repairing parking lots, students who drive to school need to circle around and park on street and walk to classroom, late; even professor late2) Took long cuz snow storms, keep stopping for a week or twoEric proposes that university should schedule construction projects to take place during the summer break as they create inconveniences and could be completed quickly in summer when the weather is usually good. The woman in the conversation totally supports it. Cuz last December when the parking lot was repaired, parking were really inconvenient ,like most students including her and teachers who drive to campus needed to park cars on streets and walk to classes which made them late for class. Also the reason why the lots repairing took too long was there were bunches of snow storms which caused the projects kept stopping from time to time. Supposed to start driving to see movie in town with Amy 15mins ago, amy hasn't show up,worried may miss beginning解决方案1:Go by herself, leave a voice mail解决方案2:Wait another 10 mins since Amy's often late负面评价:Miss the beginningThe woman has waited amy for 15minutes to see a movie in town , but she hasn't shown up even didn't response any of the calls or voice messages. The first solution is that she could go by herself and leave a voice to her. The second solution is to wait another 10 min since Amy ‘s often late.I personally prefer the first solution. Because firstly, there is only chance that she sees the movie before it's discussed on class and she has other work to do and it's amy's fault not arriving on time . Even if amy would miss it, she still has another chance the second day and she will understand the speaker. Emotional intelligence helps people to behave appropriately in social situations, which allows them to maintain good relationships with others例子:His daughter Watch a movie with a friend, then argue what to watch, she upset—realize not appropriate not upset about friend but the summer job with kids cuz no work with them and wanna do well—apologyze, explain ---friend encourage—relax, funEmotional intelligence helps people to behave appropriately in social situations, which allows them to maintain good relationships with others. The professor told an example of his daughter who was watching a movie with her friend. They argued about what to watch got upset. The she realized that her reaction was not appropriate and also she was not really upset about her friend but her summer job with kids cuz she hadn't worked with them before and wanted to do well. Then she apologized to her and explained her reason. Her friend encouraged her which made her relaxed and then had fun together. When we humans walk from place to place, we move on the Earth's surface, across the Earth's surface. Many animals of course, do the same thing, horses and dogs and cows and so on, all move on the surface, across the surface of the Earth. But there are also quite a few animals that have the ability to move from place to place underground, beneath the Earth's surface. This moving around underground is known as subsurface locomotion. Subsurface locomotion has a number of benefits. One benefit of subsurface locomotion is that it enables animals to minimize their exposure to extreme temperatures. This is very helpful for animals that live in areas with harsh climates, where it could be very dangerous to spend large amounts of time on the surface. For example, in the Sahara desert in Africa, there's a type of lizard that's able to move beneath the surface, through the sand very quickly. Because this lizard can move so easily and so quickly underground, it doesn't have to travel on the surface, where it would be exposed to dangerously high temperatures. Another benefit of subsurface locomotion is that it can help animals capture prey. That's because animals on the surface can't see predators that are approaching underground. Our lizard in the Sahara desert is again a good example. The way it works is, when an insect is walking nearby on the surface, it produces very subtle vibrations in the sand. When the lizard senses these vibrations, it moves very quickly underground where it can't be seen towards the source of the vibrations. It then suddenly pops up right under the insect and catches it completely by surprise.托福TPO口语答案分析总括:Subsurface locomotion –animals move beneath earth, benefits观点1:Enable animals minimize exposure to extreme temperature, avoid harsh climate.例子1:Saharan desert lizard, quickly, not on surface with high temperature观点2:Capture prey, cuz animals on surface can't see them例子2:Saharan Lizard ,insect walk and produce vibration ,lizard sense ,move quickly, catch by surpriseSubsurface locomotion is the ability that animals can move beneath earth and it has two benefits .One benefit is that it enables animals to minimize exposure to extreme temperature, avoiding harsh climate. Like the Saharan desert lizard because it could move quickly and doesn't walk on surface it avoided the high temperature. The other benefit is it helps animals capture prey cuz animals on surface can't see them. Still like Saharan Lizard sense vibration produced by insects walking in sand, the lizard could move quickly to them and catch them by surprise.

比如在谈论教育类考题时,常用的动词和动词词组有:evaluate, standardize, judge, benefit, work efficiently, design, compare, eliminate等,而常用的名词及词组有:performance, standardized tests, criteria, goal, score, admission, basis, evaluation, standardized scale, educational system, supervisor等。

关于套话表述:for starters 第一点,用于代替常用的firstly, first of all等等more importantly 更重要的是,用于代替second, for another thing...等等the icing on the cake 更棒的是,超级加分用法! E.g. describe a job you would like to pursue in the future. And I can also build up a network of professinal contacts when I work with PR agency and institutes, which is quite important in this whole industry! On the top of it, this field has great career prospects! These are what I love about my job and give me strong incentive to work even harder. And I believe this job helps me to realize my full potential!for starters 第一点sense of satisfaction and achievement 成就感和满足感The icing on the cake 更棒的是high annual salary, the tempting bonus and satisfying welfare benefits 高收入,丰厚的年终奖和诱人的福利待遇has great career prospects 很棒的职业前景give sb strong incentive to .
