一.教材分析
1.学习内容
Reading and Vocabulary
本课为外研社选修6第4模块阅读课。
本模块以Music为话题,旨在通过阅读人物专访An Interview with Liu Fang,来学习与音乐相关的词汇;通过阅读了解琵琶演奏家刘芳和一些中国古典音乐方面的知识,从而培养学生对祖国文化遗产的热爱。
本节课的学习内容能增加学生对本模块知识的储备量,为本模块的其他部分顺利进行做必要的铺垫。
2.学习重点
1)掌握与音乐有关的词汇,句型。
2)提高阅读能力,掌握阅读技巧。
3.学习难点
学习人物采访文章行文结构特点。
根据《新课程标准》教学的要求,提高学生用英语分析问题,解决问题的能力以及运用英语的综合能力。
二.学情分析
音乐是学生比较感兴趣的话题,学生能够说出一些简单的乐器名称和音乐家。
在高一英语学习的基础上,高二学生已经掌握了略读、跳读等一定的阅读技巧以及识别关键词、确定主题句、预测等阅读微技能。
形成了初步的阅读策略。
但大部分的学生阅读知识仍然较为薄弱,运用英语进行交际活动的能力较差,主动学习的动力不够。
因此,只有设置使他们感兴趣的活动,因材施教,才能使他们投入到课堂活动中。
三.设计理念
1.坚持“以学生为本”的宗旨,教师的引导始终渗透到课堂教学之中,创设情景,激发情意,力争使每一位学生都参与到课堂中去,动眼看、动口议、动脑思、动笔写。
体验为红线,思维为主攻。
教学设计始终围绕本科的中心话题,最终完成三维教学目标。
2.各种练习的设计都遵循“由简到繁、由易及难”的原则,为有困难的学生搭好梯子,让有能力的学生“跳一跳”摘到果子。
重视学生个性与创新意识的培养,并给予学生充分表达自己的机会。
3.创设多种情境激发学生的兴趣,只有让学生真正有了参与的欲望,才能点燃他们的思维火花。
4.任务型活动策略。
在做中学,在做中练,在做中巩固,使课堂教学产生事半功倍的良好效果。
四.学习目标
1.知识与技能
知识目标:掌握与音乐有关的词汇与短语。
技能目标:能理解各段落并获取信息,挖掘文章深意,提高学生对文章内容的分析和解读能力、阅读理解能力和利用英语处理问题的能力。
2.情感态度价值观
通过对“琵琶皇后”刘芳的学习,了解有关琵琶的音乐知识,培养学生对祖国文化遗产的热爱。
五.教学流程
1. Introduction
(This activity will get the Ss warm up and show interest in the topic.)
T:What kind of musical instrument can you play?
S: I can play the guitar. I began to learn it when I was 5 years old.
T: You mentioned guitar and violin. What other musical instruments do you know? Now I will divide the class into two groups. You belong to Group 1, and you Group 2. Group 1, please write the names of Chinese musical instruments on the left side of the Bb, and Group 2 write the names of Western musical instruments on the right side of the Bb. Let’s see which group will get more names than the other.

T: Do you like the sound of traditional music?give reasons for your answers.

Part 1 introduces Liu Fang as well as her musical training and background.
Part 2 tells about Liu Fang’s musical influences and characteristics of classical Chinese music.
Part 3 is about Liu Fang’s love for performing live and her goals as an artist.

Language points:
1. She graduated from the Shanghai Conservatory of music, where she also studied the guzheng in 1993.
