Yuan Longping, who is perhaps the greatest scientist in Agriculture, is often considered as the father of hybrid rice. He made numerous contributions to the world , the most well-known being the hybrid rice.
Y uan Longping was born in Beijing in 1930. He entered the Southwest Agricultural College in 1949, and graduated in 1953. After graduation，he took up a job as a scientist in agricultural teaching and research. After 22 years, he was able to breed hybrid rice, which improve the rice production and help rid the world of hunger. On 22th May 2021, he passed away, and the whole China mourned the great lost of a brilliant scientist.
To the piblic, Yuanlongping was seen as a farmer but he in fact was a great scientist who fully deserves our admiration and respect.

Recently, we had a heated discussion on whether carrying smart phones at school. Different people have different views on this problem.
Some are in favor of it. On the one hand, smart phones can help them keep in touch with friends.On the other hand, it is more convenient for them to ask for help when in trouble.
However, others are against it.Because phones can have a bad influence on their study. In addition, phones will do harm to their health.
Personally, I think that we’d better leave phones at home. Because we students should mainly focus on study.

Dear Jack，
How is everything going? Knowing that you wanted to learn about body language in different countries to be a volunteer in the coming Youth Games in Nanning, I’m writing to share with you some information about that.
As we all know, body language varies from culture to culture.Take greetings for example, the French are frank；they shake hands and kiss each other on each cheek when they meet people they know. Men from Muslim countries often stand close to other men to talk，but they will never touch women. In general, people all over the world now greet each other by shaking hands, but the Japanese prefer to bow. I think body language is either good or bad. However, studying it will help reduce misunderstanding between peoples. It can also help you communicate well with the athletes from different cultures.
