The trees in a rainforest grow very close together and some are very tall. The tallest tree form the top layer of the forest is called the canopy. These trees can be 130 feet tall. The next layer of trees is called the understory. The trees are usually near 50 feet high. The plants of the rainforests are also used for many medicines and for making things like rubber.
