Step1: warming up& review (5mins)
1.Greet: T greets Ss and shares stories/ personal experience/……
2.Review: T and Ss discuss what they have learnt in this/last unit.
[Intention]: Arouse Ss’interest; review old knowledge to help introduce new knowledge.
Step2: Pre-writing (10 mins)
1.Show pictures/ play a video: T introduces the topic using multimedia.
2.Brainstorm: Ss discuss with partners and come up with possible ideas.
3.Read and analyze: Ss read the material and analyze it(structure/main ideas/topics).
/Finish and read: Ss finish the task in 3a and analyze it(structure/main ideas/topics). [Intention]: Improve Ss’ creative thinking; analyze the material to prepare for next step –writing. Step3: While-writing (15mins)
1.Collect information/self-check: Ss think about their preferences/the topic/… and make a list
by writing key words.
2.Write an outline: Ss write an outline and imitate the structure of the model text.
3.Finish a draft: Ss write the draft with the outline and the information collected before.
4.Self-edit: Ss check and revise mistakes and errors in the draft.
[Intention]: Improve Ss’ logical thinking and critical thinking by writing step by step.
Step4: Post-writing (12mins)
1.Peer-edit(pair work): Ss help revise partners’ work.
2.Vote for the model texts(group work): Ss revise texts cooperatively and select the best texts
in groups. Ss share the best texts with the class. T gives feedbacks in a positive way. [Intention]: Share model texts to build up Ss’ confidence in writing.
Step5: Summary(3mins)
Ss summarize the structure of text type and topic . T gives some supplement. [Intention]: Consolidate what Ss have learnt in this class.

Compulsory: Ss finish their writing work and make a post.
Optional: Ss interview friends and retell their plans/thoughts about topic .
