1. 上下文串联和语境暗示。

这篇完型填空里面出现词语同现的很少,但是词语复现不少,就是指某一个词以原词、同根词、同义词、反义词等方式重复出现在语篇中,语篇中的句子通过这种复现关系到达相互衔接。

像这篇完型的16题,下文明显出现了treatment,还有26题和27题,这两题关联很大,是相辅相成的。

29题是和上文的last winner信息词对应的,都是属于这种类型。

2. 逻辑推理。

逻辑推理是通过对句子间和上下文之间逻辑关系的理解从而推断出正确答案。

其中逻辑关系主要包括因果关系、转折关系、比照关系、并列关系等。

逻辑推理题需要考生对上下文的理解全面把握,难度较大,考生不能将句子独立开,要注意一个句群,一个段落的整体理解。

这篇文章逻辑推理的题较多。

如17题,这里表示时间的顺乘;20题主要是上下文的逻辑关系,特别是出现了tough和上文是转折关系;还有33题,抓住关键词skills and talents 和heart,可知这里也是转折关系。

Evaluation
Studentsareplaced into classes according to their current language skills. The majority of them take on online language test before starting their programme. However, if this is not available, students sit the exam on the first Monday of their course.
Learning materials are provided to students throughout their course, and there will never be more than 15 participants in each class.
Arrivals and Transfer
Our programme offers the full package—students are take good care of from the start through to the very end. They are collected from the airport upon arrival and brought to their accommodation in comfort. We require the student’s full details at least 4 weeks in advance.
Meals/Allergies(过敏)/Special Dietary Requirements
Students are provided with breakfast, dinner and either a cooked or packed lunch(which consists of a sandwich, a drink and a dessert). Snacks outside of mealtimes may be purchased by the student individually.
We ask that you let us know of any allergies or dietary requirements as well as information about any medicines you take. Depending on the type of allergies and/ or dietary requirements, an extra charge may be made for providing special food.

Every man wants his son to be somewhat of a clone, not in features but in footsteps. As he grows you also age, and your ambitions become more unachievable. When John was growing up, other kids felt sorry for him. His parents always had him weeding the garden, carrying out the garbage and delivering newspapers. But when John reached adulthood, he was better off than his childhood playmates. He had more job satisfaction, a better marriage and was healthier. Most of all, he was happier. Far happier. These are the findings of a 40-year study that followed the lives of 456 teenage boys from Boston. The study showed that those who had worked as boys enjoyed happier and more productive lives than those who had not. “Boys who worked in the home or community gained competence (能力) and came to feel they were worthwhile members of society,” said George Vaillant, the psychologist (心理学家) who made the discovery. “And because they felt good about themselves, others felt good about them.”
Vaillant’s study followed these males in great detail. Interviews were repeated at ages 25, 31 and 47. Under Vaillant, the researchers compared the men’s mental-health scores with their boyhood-activity scores with their boyhood-activity scores. Points were awarded for part-time jobs, housework, effort in school, and ability to deal with problems.
The link between what the men had done as boys and how they turned out as adults was surprisingly sharp. Those who had done the most boyhood activities were twice as likely to have warm relations with a wide variety of people, five times as likely to be well paid and 16 times less likely to have been unemployed.
