当family指家人时,谓语动词描述家人(家庭成员)的活动或状况,常用复数。

►My family are all tall.我的家人个子都很高。

当family指家庭概念时,谓语动词描述家庭整体概况,常用单数。

►His family is small.他的家庭很小。

►Her family has a long history.她家历史悠久。

学科*网类似的词还有:class, government(政府),team (队)等集体名词。

当它们表示这个集体的成员时谓语动词用复数,当表示整体时,谓语动词用单数。

Point 4 who与whom的用法(Page 7 1a)(1)who为疑问代词,意为"谁",用来询问人物关系或身份等。

回答时,若主语为单数,根据人物的性别选用代词he或she;若主语为复数,应用代词they。

根据不同的人称使用不同的be动词,详见下表。

在英美等西方国家,家庭成员之间可以互相称呼名字,表示亲切。

而在中国文化里,父母、长辈的名字是不能随意叫的。

这是中西方的文化差异。

Point 7 well/wel/ interj.嗯, 好吧►Well, have a good day!嗯,过得愉快!well是感叹词,用于情景交际中,表示多种含义,见下面的图示:【辨析】well, good, fine 与nicewell 作形容词时,表示"身体无病的;健康的"。

good 是通用词,可以表示各种品质方面的优异,修饰名词作定语,或者在句中作表语。

Mr Wang is a good teacher. 王老师是一位好老师。

fine "上好的;精细的",也可以表示"美好的;天气晴朗的"。

She always wears fine clothes. 她总穿好衣服。

nice 表示"使人感到愉快的;好的"。

She is a very nice girl.她是个很好的姑娘。

well常用作副词,修饰动词,意思是"很好"。
