Unit 5 Choosing a new flat
1教学目标
知识目标:
(1)学习新单词:balcony, estate, suburb
(2) 通过复习巩固Would you like/ Would like to学会用Wh-question 来询问对于房子的喜好, 如:
What kind of flat would you like? Where would you like to live?
(3)课文的阅读,理解,运用
能力目标:学生可以自然地运用课堂中学到的单词、句型表达他们关于选房子的意愿。
情感目标:通过讨论如何挑选适合的居住环境与房屋,培养同学对于生活的积极态度。
2学情分析
学生学习英语的积极性比较高,课堂气氛活跃,乐于接受新知识,思维敏锐,因此需要教师设计一些较为灵活,提升的教学任务。
但是部分学生的基础还较为薄弱,听说能力有些欠缺,因此也需要扎实的巩固操练。
3重点难点
教学重点:
(1)通过图片学习新单词。
(2)用would like/would like to句型表达观点。
教学难点:
(1)描述房屋时介词的用法及地点描述。
(2)学生对于自我意愿的口语表达与阐述。
教学活动
【导入】pre-task
Review the prepositions: “ in, on, under, near, next to, between, in front of” by making a gesture.【讲授】Choosing a new flat
活动1:看图说话,复习旧知
教师呈现李家房屋平面图,并提问“How many rooms are there in the Li’s flat? What are they? What do you think of the living room / the bathroom / the kitchen / …’s bedroom /?” 活动2:大胆预测,话题导入
教师根据Ben’s bedroom is small, and Kitty’s is the smallest.这一事实提问:If you’re Ben / Kitty, what kind of flat would you like? Where would you like to live? 同时板书呈现问题:What kind of flat/ room would Ben / Kitty like? Where would Ben / Kitty like to live? 学生大胆预测并发表意见。
活动3:听录音获取信息,验证猜测
教师播放P.36课文录音,并下发听力记录表,学生听录音并填空,获取信息验证自己的猜测。
活动4:同桌问答,巩固新知
A: What kind of …would … like?
B: … would like …with….
A: Where would …like to live?
B: … would like to live in / near / far away from….
活动5:情景对话,综合运用
教师呈现一些房源信息,要求学生开展同桌对话,就自己家目前房子的情况以及自己心目中理想的房子进行问答,随后邀请几组同学到教室前面对话,其他学生以房产中介代理人
的身份认真倾听并根据学生所描述的理想房子在提供的房源里做出最佳选择并进行详细介绍。
【讲授】while-task
Ask a student: Who sits next to/in front of/behind … you?
Invite a few students to introduce the ones sitting around them by using the prepositions that have been talked about.
Tell students “ I am standing opposite all of you. “ to explain the new word ‘opposite’
【活动】while-task
Show two similar pictures and ask students to figure out the difference(s) by using the prepositions.
. Set the scene: The Lis have moved to their new flat in Water Bay. The removal men are putting the things in the new flat. Ask students to listen to the dialogue between Mrs. Li and David, and then finish task one on the sheet “ fill in the blanks”.
. Ask students to look at a picture and tell if everything is in the right place. If not, ask them to circle the wrong places.
. Ask students to look at two pictures and do pair work according to the model.
A: Where did the removal man put the ______?
B: They put it near/next to/on/in front of/opposite/between…and…________.
A: Is that right or wrong?
B: That’s right./ B: That’s wrong.
A: Where does Mrs. Li want it?
B: She wants to put it …

Ask students to design their dream bedroom.
