Good morning, ladies and gentlemen!

It’s my great honor to stand here to present my teaching ideas. I’m going to talk about section A of Unit 3 “How do you get to school?” for grade 7 in junior middle school.

I am going to illustrate my plan from the following

8 aspects. Teaching material, Teaching aims, key and difficult points, students analysis, teaching and learning methods, Teaching aids, teaching procedure and blackboard design.

1. First, I’ll give a brief analysis of the teaching materials. The teaching materials include 2 parts: the textbook and the status and functions.

For the status and functions, this textbook is published by People’s Education Press. It’s designed for junior middle school students to cultivate their overall abilities including linguistic, cultural and social abilities. The function of this unit for the students is to talk about how to get to places.

2. Let’s come to the 2nd part, teaching aims. According to the new national curriculum, teaching aims are composed of three aspects: knowledge aims, ability aims and emotion

aims.

Knowledge aims: I’ll enable to have a good command of the new words and target sentences. And then get to talk about how to get to places.

Ability aims: I’ll cultivate ability of communication, cooperation and exploration to enable them to express their opinions by using the target sentences.

As for the emotion aim: By talking about “how to get the places”, learn to know some transportation.

3.Ok, let’s turn to the 3rd part, key and difficult points. The key points of this section are to develop linguistic competence.New words about transportation and expressions about how to get to places, and ordinal numbers. As for the difficulties are key sentence patterns and ordinal numbers.

4.Analysis of the students: Students of grade 7 in junior middle school are possessing the qualities of great curiousity & learning enthusiasm as well as cooperative spirit, which benefits a lot to my organizing teaching.

5.Let's go to the 5th part, teaching and learning methods. For teaching methods, the new national curriculum advocates that language is for communication, English

teaching should lay special emphasis on development of students. For this purpose, I’ll mainly adopt 2 teaching methods. They are task-based language teaching and communicative language teaching. Here I’ll mainly talk about Task-based language teaching, that is to say, in my class I’ll design different activities and get to fulfill the tasks. In that way, Students will learn to experience and explore to improve their overall abilities. I’ll design such a situation in class. I’ll say like this, boys and girls, all eyes on me. I will tell you a story listening carefully......then I give them a story concerned with transportation. For learning methods, I'll adopt cooperative learning and autonomous learning. Ss in grade 7 have mastered a certain basic knowledge of English, and they still keep their curiosity on something new. According to this situation, in this unit I will design some activities to help Students to develop their learning strategies.

6.About teaching aids. I'll mainly use multimedia, cards and cartoons to help perform the class.

7. Now I’ll deal with the most important part--Teaching procedure. In this part I’ll arrange 7 steps: warm-up,
