Map Control
Map Tab: Displays the content of a: - Mobile map web service - Map cache file File Root Menu: Provides a way to connect to a mobile map web service or to open a map cache file
TOC Tab: Displays the list of available layers from the Mobile map web service or the Map cache file
Results Tab: Contains the results of a spatial query (search) Search Root Menu: Provides two ways to search features: Retrieve Root Menu: Fetches features and/or raster
Navigation Root Menu: Provides tools to navigate in the map: zoom in, zoom out, pan, initial extent, full extent and oveview Search Root Menu: Provides two ways to search features: Identify or by proximity
File Options
Allows you to browse the PPC folder structure to select and open a precreated map cache file
Allows you to specify the URL of an ArcGIS Server where mobile map web services are hosted
Keeps track of the mobile map web services URLs entered during the application session
Navigation Tools
Uses Hightower built-in ZoomIn handler. This tool zooms to the area specified by a dragged rectangle on the map Uses Hightower built-in ZoomOut handler. This tool zooms out a ratio according to an area specified by a dragged rectangle on the map. Uses Hightower built-in Pan handler. Allows you to pan the map
Returns the map to its original extent as published on the server Shows an overview map with a red graphic indication the current map extent. You can drag this graphic to change the extent in the main map
Goes to the full extent of the map
Fixed Zoom Out: Zooms out on 1/6 of the current map extent
Fixed Zoom In: Zooms in on 1/8 of the current map extent
Fixed zooms also apply to the wheel in the Pocket PC
Identify Search
Identify Menu Item: Find feature around a point clicked on the map
Feature context menu allows you to navigate, highlight or render the current feature’s geometry Search runs in a separated thread. It will notify you if features are found or not.
By clicking on Next, the next feature will be highlighted in the Map Also, it will be set to be the selected node in the treeview

Search by Proximity
Search area feedback. The map will pan and/or zoom out to show the whole search area.
Proximity: Finds point features that are within a distance: 0.5, 1, or 2 miles radius from where mouse has been upped
It will prompt if you want to see the results by jumping to the Results tab
Feature is highlighted in the treeview Treeview context menu is also available for Proximity selection
