(2)用作情态动词
①.没有人称和数的变化。
②.不能单独充当谓语。情态动词必须与一个实义动词一起构成复合谓语,并且这个实意动词始终是动词原形。
③.变为否认句时只需在情态动词之后加not。
④.变为疑问句时只需将情态动词提到主语的前面。
这是情态动词的共性,作为情态动词的need当然也具有这些共性。了解了这些还不够,还要掌握作为情态动词need的一个个性,就是它只能用于否认句和疑问句,

当用现在完成时谈论一直持续到现 在的动作或情况时,常与“for + 一段时 间”或“since + 过去某个时间点”的时 间状语连用。 “for + 一段时间”意为“(到现在 为止) …… 时间 ”,如 for a long time, for 10 years等等。 “since + 过去某个时间点” 意为“ 自……以来”,如since August 2003, since yesterday, since two o’clock等。

一、现在完成时和“for+一段时间”连用 时,要注意以下几点: 瞬间动词不能与“for+一段时间”连用表 示动作的连续性,应改用持续性动词。如 : He has left for five minutes. ( ) He has been away for five minutes. ( ) 瞬间动词的否定形式可以与“for + 一段 时间”连用,说明某个动作不发生的状态 已持续了一段时间。如:
since后除了可跟表示过去某个时间点的 名词或名词短语构成时间状语外,也可 引导时间状语从句,且从句中的谓语动 词通常用一般过去时。如: Helen has not been back to her primary school since she left. 注意:for和since不能同时使用。如: Alice has lived in Beijing for twenty years since 1993.
瞬间动词转换为表持续的动词或者表状态 的短语后即可在现在完成时中与表示一段 时间的状语连用。
1. 少数瞬间动词可以转换为其相应的持续性动词,如: borrow → have/has kept, buy → have/has had 2. 有些瞬间动词可以用相应的介词短语、形容词、副词或名词与be的现在完成时连 用,表示状态的延续,如:
arrive in/at → have/has been in/at, join → have/has been in或 have/has been a member of, die → have/has been dead, leave → have/has been away, begin/start → have/has been on, end/finish → have /has been over

瞬间动词表示短暂的动作,如come, go,leave,start,begin,become, receive,die等; 而持续性动词表示能持续一段时间的 动作,如work,stay,leave,live, learn等。
二、现在完成时和“since+过去某个时间 点”连用时,要注意以下几点: 持续性动词与“since+过去某个时间点” 连用表示持续的动作和状态。 瞬间动词的否定形式与“since+过去某个 时间点”连用表示某动作不发生的状态已 经持续了一段时间。如: I have waited here for you since 2 o’clock. I haven’t heard from him since March.
