Welcome to Evergreen High School. It’s a great honor for me to meet you and make a general introduction to our school. Our school was founded in 1976. It is located in the centre of the city. We have about 200 teachers and 1,500 students here. There are two teaching buildings, a lab building, a sports ground and a library in our school.
We enjoy studying here. Besides the regular school subjects, we enjoy participating in lots of other activities. We take physical exercises at least one hour a day. We can read favourite books in our library.
I t has a huge collection of books. We can also join different clubs according to our interests. In short, we really have a colorful life in our school.

How is everything going? I'd like to tell you something interesting in our school.
Last Friday, our first School Book Fair finally opened. It was held on the playground in the afternoon. So many students went there. At the fair, some were selling old books; others were trading books with each other. Price was not too important; we just didn't want to waste the used books. I, for example, traded my Little Prince for Alice in the Wonderland which I had wanted to buy from the bookstore.
The book fair also gave us a chance to contribute our bit for the Hope Project. By the time the fair closed, we had donated about two hundred books for schools in west China. Isn't it wonderful?

Last Friday, an American student delegation came to our school. On behalf of all students, I gave them a welcome speech at the welcome ceremony. Afterwards, they visited our classes. We were surprised and glad to find that language was not a problem between us, for they could all talk in simple Chinese and we could answer their questions in English. Time passed quickly, but left with us a lasting memory. Although those American students were from a country of different culture and custom, we could become friends. I hope more students from other countries will come to our school.

Early in the morning, my parents and I went to grandparents' home. When grandma opened the door, I hugged her tightly and told her how much I missed her. Then grandma started to tell me about some interesting happenings in her life. When we were talking, Mom and my aunt were busy preparing the New Year family dinner. Around twelve, everybody sat down to enjoy all the delicious food. What a wonderful time we had! Over the dinner table, we exchanged New Year's good wishes. I wished everyone a healthy and happy 2021. After dinner, while the adults were watching TV, I sent the New Y ear regards to my friends.
