is﹣the language of science. You should not expect to be able to read a difficult science passage the same way you read an interesting story; you should not expect to read it easily and all at once.Instead, you may have to read it several times through, catching on the meaning of difficult words, going back over difficult sentences, and finally putting the whole thing together.Do not be discourages if the whole passage don't make sense to you at first. You need to pick it apart patiently until you can understand it.These are the steps to follow when you are reading something difficult:1.Start to read normally until you run into a sentence that doesn't make sense to you.2.When a sentence doesn't make sense,go back and read it again more slowly.3.Look for any word you don’t know in the sentence.Try to understand their meanings using word parts and context clues(上下文线索).If necessary, look them up in the dictionary.4.Look at the next few sentences to see if they explain more about the sentence you are working on.Do not read very much farther ahead until you understand what is being said.5.Finally,read the sentence again.Try to put it into simpler words.6.Read through the passage once.Try to understand all the hard parts well. Then read the whole passage once more at a usual speed. This helps you to put all ides together. The stops sound a lot harder than they are.It is really just the normal way good readers understand anything that is difficult to read. After you have done the best you can this way,you should always feel free to ask for help from your teacher,if you time of the year the person was bor. From China comes the belief that the year of birth influences one’s personality. In the past century,a new belief ahs arisen:the idea that personality is related to one’s ABO blood type.People with blood type A,for example, are considered more likely to be serious, hard﹣working, and quiet, while people with blood type O are likely to be popular and outgoing, yet often unable to finish what they start.Though this belief continues to be strong, somepeople question whether it is true. The blood﹣type personality theory(理论) started in Japan in 1927when Furukawa Takehi 2010年高考语文满分作文(北京卷)

One day, when she was five years old, she was walking with her mother in downtown Winnipeg. They saw a man 36 out of a garbage can. She asked her mother why he did that and her mother said that the man was homeless and hungry. Hannah was very 37 .She couldn't understand why some people had to live their lives without shelter or enough food. Hannah started to think about how she could 38 ,but,of course, there is not a lot one five-year-old can do to solve(解决)the problem of homelessness.Later ,when Hannah attended school, she saw another homeless person. It was a woman, 39 an old shopping trolley(购物车)which was piled with 40 . It seemed that everything the woman owned was in them. This made Hannah very sad, and even more 41 to do something. She had been talking to her mother about the lives of homeless people 42 they first saw the homeless man. More recently, the foundation began another 47 called National Red Scarf Day—a day when people donate $20 and wear red scarves in support of Canada`s 48 and homeless. There is an emergency shelter in Winnipeg called “Hannah`s Place”, something that Hannah is very 49 of. Hannah`s Place is divided into several areas, providing shelter for people when it is so cold that 50 outdoors can mean death. 2010北京卷

2010北京卷I met Mrs. Neidl in the ninth grade on a stage-design team for a play and she was one of the directors. Almost instantly I loved her. She had an Unpleasant voice and a direct way of speaking, 36 she was encouraging and inspiring. For some reason, she was impressed with my work and me.Mrs. Neidl would ask me for my 37 . She wanted to know how I thought we should 38 things. At first I had no idea how to answer because I knew 39 about stage design! But I slowly began to respond to her 40 . It was cause and effect: She believed I had opinions, so I began to 41 them. She trusted me to complete things, so I completed them perfectly. She loved how 42 I was, so I began to show up to paint more and more. She believed in me, so I began to believe in myself.Mrs. Neidl's 43 that year was, "Try it. We can always paint over it 44 !"I began to take 45 . I had been so afraid of failing but suddenly there was no failing--only things to be 46 upon. I learned to dip my brush into the paint and 47 create something. The shy, quiet freshman achieved success that year. She taught me not to 52 what people think I should do: She taught me to take chances and not be 53 . Mrs. Neidl was my comforter when I was upset. written in the kind of English that we speak every day.In fact, sometimes the reading is so difficult that it almost seems like a foreign language. In a way,it is ﹣the language of science. You should not expect to be able to read a difficult science passage the same way you read an interesting story;you should not expect to read it easily and all at once.Instead, you may have to read it several times through, catching on the meaning of difficult words, going back over difficult sentences, and finally putting the whole thing together.Do not be discourages if the whole passage don't make sense to you at first. You need to pick it apart patiently until you can understand it.These are the steps to follow when you are reading something difficult:1.Start to read normally until you run into a sentence that doesn't make sense to you.2.When a sentence doesn't make sense,go back and read it again more slowly.3.Look for any word you don't know in the sentence.Try to understand their meanings using word parts and context clues(上下文线索).If necessary, look them up in the dictionary.4.Look at the next few sentences to see if they explain more about the sentence you are working on.Do not read very much farther ahead until you understand what is being said.5.Finally,read the sentence again.Try to put it into simpler words.6.Read through the passage once.Try to understand all the hard parts well. Then read the whole passage once more at a usual speed. This helps you to put all ideas together. The stops sound a lot harder than they are.It is really just the normal way good readers understand anything that is difficult to read. After you have done the best you can this way,you should always feel free to ask for help from your teacher,if you have one.54.The underlined phrase "run into" means.A.work outB.come acrossC.look intoD.pass by55.From the passage,we can know_________.A.we should look up new words before readingB.it is sometimes difficult to read a science passageC.the six steps are comes the belief that the year of birth influences one's personality. In the past century,a new belief has arisen:the idea that personality is related to one's ABO blood type.People with blood type A,for example, are considered more likely to be serious, hard﹣working, and quiet, while people with blood type O are likely to be popular and outgoing, yet often unable to finish what they start.Though this belief continues to be strong, some people question whether it is true. The blood﹣type personality theory(理论)started in Japan in 1927 when Furukawa Takehi noticed personality similarities and differences among his workers. This idea soon went out of fashion, but was brought back by a Japanese television host named Toshitaka Nomi in the 1970s.The belief is still strong in Japan and is increasingly popular in neighboring countries. Some young Koreans have taken to the theory.A recent study showed 76 percent of Koreans aged between 13 and 64 believing in the blood﹣type personality connection.Though most Asians might believe in the blood﹣type theory, for many it seems harmless and not something to be taken too seriously. Is the belief true? The scientists in Asia largely dismiss the belief as a modern﹣day superstition(迷信).Most studies have failed to find any strong connection between blood and personality.Generally, scientists warn against making predictions or important decisions based on this questionable theory.57.The writer uses blood type A and O as an example to explain_________.A.the difference between to two blood typesB.the relationship between the two blood

difficult sentences, and finally putting the whole thing together.Do not be discourages if the whole passage don't make sense to you at first. You need to pick it apart patiently until you can make sense,go back and read it again more slowly.3.Look for any word you don't know in the sentence.Try to understand their meanings using word parts and context clues(上下文线索).If necessary, look them up predicted according to the time of the year the person was born. From China comes the belief that the year of birth influences one's personality. In the past century,a new belief has arisen:the idea that personality is related to one's ABO blood type.People with blood type A,for example, are considered more likely to be serious, hard﹣wor ,and quiet, while people with blood type O are likely to be popular and outgoing, yet often unable to finish what they start.Though this belief continues to be strong, some people question whether it is true.

21. at my classmates' faces, I read the same excitement in their eyes.A. LookingB. LookC. To lookD. Looked21. 答案:A考点:本题考查非谓语动词。

2010北京卷I met Mrs. Neidl in the ninth grade on a stage-design team for a play and she was one of the directors. Almost instantly I loved her. She had an Unpleasant voice and a direct way of speaking, 36 she was encouraging and inspiring. For some reason, she was impressed with my work and me.
Mrs. She believed in me, so I began to believe in myself.
Mrs.
I was 48 in the program
as "Student Art Assistant" because of the time and effort I'd put in. It was that year that I 49 I wanted to spend the rest of my life doing stage design.
Being on that stage-design team 50 Mrs. Neidl changed me completely. Not only was I stronger and more competent than I had thought, but I also 51 a strong interest and a world I hadn't known existed. She taught me not to 52 what people think I should do: She taught me to take chances and not be 53 . Mrs. Neidl was my comforter when I was upset. Her 54 in me has inspired me to do things that I never imagined 55 .
