1 Document scope
This Product Datasheet covers the electrical, optical, mechanical, environmental and thermal characteristics and acceptance requirements of the Philips Certaflux Protected LED Module (PLM) II, an IP66 module with integrated heatsink and optics. Optical performance of PLM II is included. The product specifications as mentioned in this document are applicable for products specified in Table 1. Product description

5 Electrical interfaces
PLM II modules can be connected using the cable interface as specified below. This cable allows connection with fixed output drivers and serial connection from 1 and up to 5 modules.

6 Performance specification
The following paragraphs contain the performance of PLM II. Table 5 contains performance specification as has been estimated and evaluated at Tcase 65o C and drive current of 700mA.

7 Thermal management
The Philips PLM II module is equipped with an integrated heatsink to enable lifetime statement. There is no thermal protection i.e. NTC to prevent overheating and extreme lifetime degradation of the LEDs.
Thermal measurement
7.1On the back of the module there is a Tcase (Tc) point, which should be used for all temperature measurements. The location for measuring the maximum temperature of the module is in the middle at the bottom of the heatsink.

8 Surge protection
A surge solution with by-pass capacitors is implemented on the L2 board to protect them from electrical
overstress. Capacitors will bypass excessive current to the ground. The solution is valid for all the released driver and module combinations.

The Philips PLM II modules as sold under the following conditions. • Product is suitable for direct exposure to moisture, dust, etc. • Product is suitable for dry and damp locations
• Product is protected against powerful water jets from any direction shall (IP66).
11 RoHS & Reach
The modules are compliant with European Directive 2011/65/EU recasting 2002/95/EC on Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS). The modules are complaint to Reach as defined by the EU Chemical Agency.

13 Electrostatic device (ESD) measures
Philips PLM II module system does not require ESD measures in a production environment. • Do not use damaged or defective modules • Do not touch LEDs
• Do not drop the LED module or let any object fall on top of the module as this may damage the insulation
layer of the LED board. Do not use the LED module if it has been dropped or an object has fallen on it and there are visible defects or damage.
