Once when I was six years old I saw a magnificent picture in a book, called True Stories from Nature, about the primeval forest.

有一次，我六岁的时候，在一本叫做『自然界的真实故事』的书里看到一副绝妙的插图，那是一座原始森林的景象。

It was a picture of a boa constrictor in the act of swallowing an animal. Here is a copy of the drawing.

画中有一条蟒蛇正在吞食一只动物，下面是该画的摹本。

I must confess that at first sight this presentation of the whole process shocked me a little.

诚然，乍一看，这个展示整个过程的画面有点令我震惊。

And yet.. one knows that this is only a drawing and that the tiger-cat has no worry about being swallowed alive.

但是......当你知道这只是一副画，而老虎猫并不会真的被活活吞下去。

But, after doing a little reflection, I felt a little ashamed of having been shocked。

只要你进行一点思考，我就觉得为自己受到震惊而感到有点羞愧。

for there is nothing unbelievable in this story。

因为这件事并不太奇怪。

especially since the world is full of foolish people.

尤其是在这个充满了愚蠢人的世界里。
