1.课型:listening and speaking 时间45分钟
2.教材分析本节课是外研版初中英语八年级上册第八模块,第一单元。

1.本节课是以交通事故为话题,要求读懂、听懂对话中事故的原因和内容。

2.本节课是听说课。

语言重点是过去进行时,让学生在听力活动中感知其用法,在说的环节中进行操练,继而达到学会用英语介绍过去某一时间点发生的事件。

3.学情分析
1.交通安全与学生息息相关,交通事故学生也经常会遇到,所以对于这一话题学生并不陌生。

但是学生的安全意识比较淡薄,对交通事故的危害和严重性估计不足,所以需要在讲课过程中穿插情感和安全教育。

2.之前一个模块Module 7中,学生已经接触了过去进行时,对于表示过去时间点的时间状语如at that time, at 9 o’clock yesterday 等比较熟悉。

但是对于while , when等引导的过去进行时的从句接触较少。


于掌握程度的不同,在新授情态动词用法时,要注意知识的融会贯通。

4.教学目标
1. 能够在对话中拼写和认读相关单词和短语,能熟练朗读课文。

2. 能够听懂含有过去进行时的句子,并与同伴交流讨论含义,进而能用过去进行时造句,就课上有关交通事故的话题进行讨论交流。

3. 通过小组讨论及探究性活动等,激发并强化学生的交通安全意识。

五、教学重点和难点
1. 教学重点:对话场景中出现的重点词汇和短语,如pale, appear, hit, hurt, fall off, in time, the risk of, pay attention, side by side等; 由when, while 引导的过去进行时句子的含义和用法。

2. 教学难点:让学生了解并体会交通安全的重要性和交通事故的严重性,学会从小事做起,从身边做起,注意交通安全。

六.教学过程Teaching procedures
Step 1 Lead-in
The teacher shows students two pictures of traffic accidents.
Q: What are the pictures about
Students look at the pictures and answer the question—traffic accidents.设计意图:情景创设,迅速且自然过渡到本单元的话题。

Step 2 Pre-listening
1. Show students two groups of pictures, let students practisethe dialogues in pairs.
--What was/were doing… at that time
--What was/were doing… when/while…
设计意图:对话的练习活动,既让学生熟悉过去进行时的句式,又让学生了解了交通事故和交通安全的相关背景知识。

2. Show students a picture of an accident. Ask questions related.
Q: What was the policewoman/boy/driver/nurse doing
Students look at the picture and answer questions.
意图:让学生在真实语境下操练过去进行时态,同时了解即将学习的对话的背景知识。

Step 3 While-listening
Step 1. Watch and answer.
Show students a video and ask related questions about the main idea. Q: What did Ms. James see this morning How was the boy hurt
设计意图:让学生通过视频内容,感知对话大致内容和回答问题。

Step 2. Read and do exercises
1. Read the first half of the dialogue(L1-12)and do T/F exercises.
2. Read the second half (L13-19) and complete the advice.
设计意图:让学生通过读课文和做练习,了解对话细节内容和语言点。

Step 3 Read the dialogue
1. Work in groups of four. Read the dialogue in roles.
2. Read in groups in front of the whole class.
设计意图:让学生通过分角色朗读,能够提升朗读能力,纠正语音语调,更加熟悉课文内容。

Step 4 Post-listening
Step 1. Make a dialogue
The teacher show students a dialogue with some blanks. The teacher ask students to work in groups of four, fill in the blanks with the useful phrases on the paper and read the dialogue in roles.
Students work in groups to discuss and make dialogues.
设计意图:通过小组活动,让学生在语境中真实地运用语言,达到语言输出的目的。

在创设的语境中熟练运用过去进行时来表达和交流,有效地实现本课的教学目标。

Step 2 Exercises
Show students some related exercises. Let students work in groups and have a competition by doing exercises. The team getting the most points wins.
设计意图:通过练习,让学生再次复习对话中的重点短语和过去进行时的意义和用法。

小组竞赛的方式能够让学生激发学习积极性,提高效率。

Step 3.Affective education
1.The teacher shows students some pictures and asks a question: What should/shouldn’t we do to avoid or reduce traffic accidents.
2. Students discuss in groups and answer the question.
3. The teacher give students some advice on traffic safety.
设计意图: 激发学生对交通安全的认识,激励学生注意交通安全,从
小事做起。

Step 5. Summary and homework
1. Let students have a summary of this lesson by themselves.
2.Choose a country you like and then write a short passage about various traditions in that country.
