Part A: Spot Dictation
Direction:In this part of the test, you will hear ten passages and read the same passage with blanks in it. Fill in each of the blanks with the words you have heard on the tape. Remember you will hear the passage ONL Y ONCE.
Oxford University once famously claimed to have been founded by Alfred the Great in the 9th Century, 1 , the University as we know it today began to take shape in the 12th Century when English Scholars were exiled from 2 and began to congregate at Oxford"s Abbeys and Priories, which were 3 already established centers of learning.
