1教学目标
1. To revise Chinese and western festivals.
2. To develop the students reading ability.
3. To describe a festival after reading
2学情分析
Students are quite familar with Chinese festival, however, when it comes to describe a western festival, they feel confused. By concluding the writing patterns in the text book and having a brainstorming of useful words and phrases, students of senior three have the confidence and interest to complete the ta sk of completing a composition concerning festivals.
3重点难点
1 Get the students to learn about the history of carnival.
2 Get the students to describe the festivals in groups.

1【导入】Step 1. Introduction
1. Lead-in by arouse student’s interest: today we are going to take part in a festiv al full of joy and fun;it’s Carnival. Is Carnival a Chinese festival?
2. What people usually do when they celebrate Carnival? Let’s enjoy a video and see.
2【活动】Step 2. Pre-reading activity
1. Guess: Actually the most famous Carnival in Europe is in Venice. From the title, can you tell what t he passage will be about?
2. Words revision: Before we take this passage, let’s go over some words and phrases in this module. Wh ile doing this part, pay attention to its relationship between its pronunciation and spelling.。
